  1. It is an issue too for us from the USA..... flying from say Londons "thiefrow" airport. If I fly LA to LHR the tax and fees are around $12.... However if I fly out of UK... the departure tax per person in Business in $312pp USD.... I know fly back from FRA or BRU where the tax is only $75 !!

Dan - I suggest you google the latest articles on crime at LAX .......

  2. As far as the "average" guest, the theater lounges on all the ships are mostly filled to capacity. I'm glad there are some who do not care for the entertainment, as the theaters are not large enough to accommodate everyone.

This has been our experience too - standing room only on many occasions which is good news for the entertainers. Maybe if Dan isn't interested in the shows he hasn't actually looked at how popular they are.

  3. I think that the average Oceania passenger is not interested in that sort of entertainment and could care less about shows in the theater except for a movie or enrichment. in 30 years I have been to maybe 5 shows total.

I think too , that the line understands that and focuses on ambiance and cuisine for a clientele than can entertain themselves and are on the cruise for that reason.

What is the AVERAGE oceania passenger? How do you know?

  4. On our last Oceania cruise our passports were taken. We were told that if anyone missed the boat (literally) their passports would be given to the agent in the port to make it easier for the pax to get to the next port - which may be in another country. Don't know if this is true or not but sounded good to us ;).

  5. Just because the taxes are higher it doesn't necessarily work out that the overall ticket price is dearer. Taking a random date - March 10, 2014 and a flight from London to New York a coach seat on BA is £1055, from Paris to NY on United it's £2164 and on Air France £1998.

  6. I agree ..we want MALT vinegar

they have it in a gravy boat in the buffet when they have fish n chips ...very awkward to put on with a spoon

Just put the bottle out ;)

I agree :D. You just can't have fish n chips without malt vinegar.

  7. Hope they have some dishes for us folks that like simple food :(

Me too! It's a real challenge on a longer cruise. I like veggies with my meal but they are the same every day in the MDR. I got real excited when peas were served with the turkey on Thanksgiving ;).

    I don't like tuna either!!
