  1. Hello,

Has anyone recently upgraded their select beverage package (beer & wine) to the new deluxe beverage package? Saw some communications after the package changes in September 2016 that you could upgrade for $10 per day plus 18% service fee, however, I just spoke with Royal and they told me it would cost the full difference in price between in the two packages. (meaning what I paid originally for select to the current deluxe pricing)

Interested to know if people are successful in getting the special $10/day price for the upgrade once onboard today.

    Thanks

  2. I contacted the shore excursion department last week about future FTTF availability for my cruise. I received a standard email as have in the past, but it now says that they are no longer wait listing or notifying people when more are available because they are receiving too many requests.

  3. On the constellation right now. Loved Aqua Class Stateroom and perks, but was very disappointed with the Persian garden. It was extremely small and dark. No separate loungers, just some communal seating for maybe 4 people. Also, rooms on Deck 11 are fantastic, but as expected balconies are useless if you get rain or don't like too much sun.

  4. I'm on this cruise too. It appears at this time that the weather from boarding in Ft Lauderdale through most of the Bahamas is going to be iffy. I would say there is a chance we go to Nassau instead of CocoCay, but the weather there is also not looking that good. Either way, I'm content to enjoy as much as the ship has to offer over the 2 days.

  5. Yes, Allure had the same dry dock changes as Oasis. The room was very large for an inside, however the layout was weird. Very long and narrow, with a full size sofa at the far end facing the tv and desk. The beds (we had two singles) were mere inches away from the sliding closet, so close that we could not use any of the hanging space, just the shelves and room safe. They could have made the sofa much smaller and then allow more space for the beds. The bathroom was also a very nice size for an interior and had the nice rounded shower enclosure. Another thing I liked was how easy it was to get get to the elevators and quick stair access to the royal promenade one deck below.

  6. Hello,

I posted the question below a while back and did not get any replies specific to Allure or Oasis.

I received a stateroom assignment of #6589 on Allure, which is one of the newly added interior staterooms on Deck 6. If you've been in this room on the Allure or Oasis, I'd be interested in your feedback and/or pictures. I can still change to a different interior location for a little more money, but not sure if it's even worth it.

    Thanks for your assistance.

  7. I just got of the Breeze a couple of weeks ago. I was traveling with my wife and two girls. We had a quad Ocean Suite, (not many quads by the way). Our room (7242) did have a double pull out sofa bed and even with it fully extended, you could get through to the balcony without climbing over the bed. Since we needed a crib also, we asked to have the sofa converted into a single bed and they added extra linen and pillows and it was very comfortable, plus we had more space to move around.

  8. Just got back today from the Brreeze also. I too did not get into my room until at least 2:45 and then we noticed that our crib was not in there. Almost got into an argument with room steward when he said it will be there "tomorrow". Stateroom service was decent, but unbelievably slow every

day. Was our second time on Breeze, and will sail on her again (already planning next one). They need to do something about your time dining, it took us at least 2 hours for dinner every night and almost every item was never served hot. Servers were fantastic, just think there are kitchen issues onboard.

  9. I can say after getting off the Breeze today and experiencing an Ocean Suite for the first time for 8 nights, I think regular balconies are a thing of the past, even if it means fewer cruises (which I don't/hope think it come to that). Loved the extra space, amazing bathroom and tub for my two little girls.

  10. Just off the Sky this weekend. Officially, wireless Internet is only available in public areas on Decks 5, 6, 7, 11 & 12. If your room is on Deck 8 or 10 and close to one of the main elevator stacks or staircases, you may get a weaker signal in your room. I did notice that there were crews running data cables all over the ship, so they may be close to offering wi-fi everywhere.

  11. I don't understand all of "gloom & doom" over the condition of the Disney Magic. After my cruise this weekend, I'd say that while not everything was perfect, I feel that we received what we paid for and even more. This 2 night cruise was not cheap for my family of 4, but our room, the new amenities and Disney service was definitely on par with all of my previous experiences. I'd say they are 90% ready for prime time.

Having experienced it first hand, there are people that are exaggerating the issues for some reason. Sure, some rooms had issues, but mine was mostly excellent and while there were areas that needed cleaning, I also noticed that many of them were cleaned by the end of the cruise.

I'd go back again any time!

  12. I also just got back from the 2 night Magic cruise and I was generally impressed with all of the new spaces. The redone Animator's Palate was very nice. The new technology was great and my kids and I enjoyed guessing the character sketches that appeared on the walls.

The AquaDunk is awesome. I actually like it more than the AquDuck (which is tame compared to the AquaDunk) I managed to ride it 7 or 8 times, even more than my 11 year old son. :-)

The new Twist n' Spout slide is equally great. On this cruise, they were allowing all guests over 38" to ride the slide. Originally, they were planning to have a maximum height of 64", but there was tape over the maximum hight restriction notice on the sign. I asked one of the lifeguards, and was told that they may possibly revise the maximum height permanently. Great news for the taller guests that might not be ready for the AquaDunk.

I don't want to give too much away for those about to sail on the Magic, but if you or your kids are into IronMan, spend some time in the brand new Oceaneer Club. All I can say is WOW, to the new Marvel experience.

We booked VGT category room and received a 5C Deluxe Verandah (room #6114) on Deck 6. The room was perfect for my family of 4. Conveniently located, great unobstructed balcony view and quiet.

As others have pointed out, while the room refurb was amazing, up to Dream & Fantasy standards, the balcony, bathroom, closets were not touched. We did have some rust on our balcony and it was quite dirty. The bathroom was also dirty and the toilet seat looked like it had been sandblasted.

Around the other areas of the ship I did notice some worn carpet, dirt and even some shattered windows right below the sports deck.

All in all, I think Disney did a great job with the refurb and those areas of concern will be dealt with over the next couple of sailings. I also applaud Disney for giving us the real cruise experience not a watered down one since it was such a short cruise. I was not expecting the fireworks part of the pirate deck party, having 2 production shows, all dining options available and generally full access to the entire ship and services.

  13. We received the same! It is actually the lowest category verandah a family of 4 can get BUT I like the location so that is no biggie to me.

If you only have three you can be assigned a Navigator verandah

I am very happy with this assignment. We are 4, so I knew we would not get Navigator's Verandah, but there was the possibility of getting the solid white wall on a cat 6A verandah
