  1. By any chance do you know how much a one day pass for the thermal suite costs? My app still shows no prices. And I do realize a lot can change between now and then, but it at least gives me an idea. I tried searching your daily programs, but could not find that info.
  2. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! A cloudy, humid, warm start to the day. Green bean casserole has its own day?🤔 Vanessa, thank you for sharing our happenings. Praying that your medical team can find a solution to your pain - soon. Gym, Aldi, Bindi walks, a visit with family and some final Christmas decorating. Prayers for all who need our support. Especially those dealing with debilitating pain or conditions. @smitty34877 Terry, you are the only one who knows what is right for you. No one else. Think of you & Tana every day. Cheers to all who are celebrating. @rafinmd Roy, hope you made it home safely. May we each find a reason to smile today. ********* Wild Pig Viognier What a great name! Consumers rate this French Viognier very good - excellent. Easy to find and very easy to try at its reasonable price. I think I need to try this one too. Online prices start at $8.99. Winemaker notes Located in the Languedoc area, the vineyards spread from the banks of the Rhône river in the East to the city of Carcassonne in the West, from the foothills of the Massif Central mountains in the North to the Mediterranean Sea in the South. VINIFICATION - Harvesting is done in the early morning, during the coolest period of the day. - The grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and pressed in modern pneumatic presses. - The must is refrigerated and allowed to settle for 24 to 48 hours. - The clear juice is drawn off and fermented using selected yeast. - Temperature is regularly controlled to ensure that it does not exceed 16°C (60.8°F) - The wine is cold-filtered to avoid malolactic fermentation. TASTING NOTES Pale gold colour with bright green tints; an elegant and well balanced wine with dry apricots aromas and a long and harmonious finish. WINE WAITER’S ADVICE Best when served cool between 10-12°C (50-52°F). Delicious by itself as an aperitif or accompanied with white meats and salads. Enjoy now and over the next 2 to 3 years.
  3. Thank you so much for not only sharing your journey with me, but also providing so much great info!
  4. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Yesterday temps were a much more seasonal 78. Today will be cloudy, but the temp will be about the same. Most of us do not need a visual for Pollution Prevention Day, but just in case… Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with us. Praying for an end to your pain. Off to an early gym class, Bindi walks, chores and then wrapping up the day at a friend’s for dinner. Prayers for all who need our support. Especially those dealing with debilitating pain and conditions. Cheers to all who are celebrating. @rafinmd Roy, I was happy to read that you were safely on the train. Hope the rest of your trip home is uneventful. May we each find a reason to smile today! *********** 2018 Miner Paso Robles Viognier This Paso Robles Viognier has lots of consumer fans. @kazu Yes Jacqui, it is a white wine! It sounds lovely, and I would love a taste. Widely available with prices starting at $18.99. Winemaker Notes Aromatically complex with citrus and honeysuckle notes on the nose and a plush feel on the palate, this Viognier consistently displays a fine balance of neutral acidity and intense concentration. This quintessential food wine was whole cluster pressed and stainless steel fermented to allow the vibrant, tropical and stone fruit characteristics of this varietal to shine.
  5. @JazzyV Vanessa, I believe Murphy shares your “I am strong” gene. She is in great company. Praying the MRI helps find an answer.
  6. Woo Hoo, Ren! And his entire support team who enabled him to achieve his dream! You should all be proud of yourselves!
  7. Graham Sorry that you & Pauline have to deal with this. I am impressed at how responsive your Water Board is. Do anticipate any damage to your lawn, trees, bushes or flowers?
  8. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Today in History: on this date in 2023 CC’s Dailyites learned that NOTHING HAPPENED! It was 57 already when Bindi & I headed out, so perhaps we will return to more seasonal temps for a bit. Would love to get more kayaking in before winter arrives. Vanessa thank you for keeping up with us. Praying that you soon find relief for your pain. I marvel at what you accomplish, in spite of it. Gym, Bindi walks, a visit from a couple of arborists to look at a few of my trees. 🤞🏻 my two oldest oaks can be saved with a really good trim. BTW - red wine lovers if you ever have a chance to taste a Pinotage - do it. The one I tried was amazing. A super fruity nose, but it had amazing body and taste. Chores should fill out my day. Prayers for all who need our support. Especially those who are dealing with debilitating pain or conditions. Cheers to all who are celebrating. @rafinmd Roy, safe travels today. Rest well. May we each find a reason to smile today! ********* Octopoda Pinot Noir Consumers love this California Pinot Noir. Always willing to try a Pinot Noir, though I prefer a fuller bodied PN, which is rare for them. Widely available, with online prices starting at $17.99. Distributor notes What makes the Russian River Valley so special? For starters this sub-appellation in Sonoma County is home to some of the top producers of California Pinot Noir & Chardonnay. The seasonal fog and tempering effects of the Pacific Ocean gives this region an uncommonly long growing season, and creates ideal conditions for cool climate varietals. The Wine Buyer: 91 Points "Complex, lively and well-balanced. This Russian River Pinot Noir features pure flavors of plum, pomegranate, loganberry and strawberry which are lined with spice, shades of mineral and a hint of tea. Engaging finish supported by supple tannins." The Wine Buyer, 91 Points
  9. Lorraine! I can almost see Murphy’s determination in her look! Precious. A true miracle!❤️
  10. Oh yeah! Well here is Santa in Florida! 😎 That is one HUGE flamingo!
  11. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! It was 42 this morning when Bindi and I headed out. But if today is anything like yesterday, I will be thrilled. Clear, cloudless, bright blue, sunny sky with a hint of a breeze. Picture perfect. Vanessa, thank you for capturing & sharing our happenings! I was shocked to read what you endured yesterday. I hope today is 1,000 times better for you. Praying that you get permanent relief for your pain - soon. Gym, Bindi walks, lots of chores & maybe a visit to my local wine bar. One of their featured wines this week is a Pinotage. A unique wine created by a hybrid grape made from Pinot Noir & Cinsault. Sounds fascinating. Anyone familiar with this wine? Prayers for all who need our support. Especially those with debilitating pain or conditions. Cheers to all who are celebrating. @rafinmd Roy, I am cheering the fact that you were discharged, but I am praying that you make it home safely & without any of the crazy stuff that travel often exposes us to. May we each find a reason to smile today! ************ 2019 Rebellious red blend This is an amazing red blend whose list of varietals reads like “everything but the kitchen sink”. But don’t let that fool you, it is smooth, dry and a bit on the bold side. Consumers give it an excellent review. Readily available with online prices starting at $16.99. Winemaker Notes This wine presents abundant aromas of dark cherry and strawberry jam, brown sugar, dark chocolate and cola with hints of cardamom, black pepper, sandalwood and licorice. The bright and vibrant entry accentuates flavors of fresh blueberries and allspice that linger into a creamy, rich mid-palate and ends with a luxurious finish. Blend: 42% Zinfandel, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 7% Petite Sirah, 7% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre, 1% Sauvignon Blanc
  12. Have you ever visited the Salt room? I was thinking that might a good activity on a port day, when fewer folk were on the ship. My app does not show the charge to visit it. I could not find it listed on the Dailies. Any clue?
  13. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Tis a nippy 40 this morning, but the skies are clear and it looks to be a beautiful day. Yesterday was off and on sunny and just windy enough to make the low 50s temp feel cooler. Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with all of us. I won’t belittle what other contributors post, but you have to hit a moving target. Things are always changing with us. Praying that you get relief for your pain. - soon. @rafinmd Roy, loved reading you took a test walk! You probably know better than I do how critical getting up & moving is to recovery. Praying you are on your way home soon. Today I get a manicure, wash my area rugs, walk with Bindi, do my HIIT class and just a bunch of normal chores. This is dedicated to those in Upstate New York…. Prayers for all who need our support. Especially those with debilitating pain and conditions. @smitty34877 you and Tana are often in my thoughts. Cheers to all who are celebrating. May we each find a reason to smile today. ********* Barba I Vasari Old Vines Montepulciano This Italian red has lots of consumer fans, is widely available and reasonably priced. Check your local Total Wine - mine is offering it on special for $9.99. Online prices start at $16.99. Wine Enthusiast 91 Savory aromas of olive and tomato paste meld with a rich blackberry jam core. The medium-bodied palate blends sweet and savory accents on top of plush berry flavors. Glossy tannins and bright acidity provide a well-meshed frame.
  14. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Well it is 47 and our cold water is cold! Winter is coming. I had to wear socks with my Tevas this morning. I have turned into a Florida wimp!😎 Yesterday turned into a spectacular day: sunny and low sixties. It is a bit cloudy right now, so not sure what to expect. Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with our happenings. Praying that you find relief for your pain - soon! @rafinmd Roy, praying that the medical folk get you back on your feet soon. Have you let your niece know what is happening? You might not want to worry her, but you know she would want to know. Gym, Bindi walks, chores and meeting with neighbors to discuss decorating the cul de sac. Maybe there will be some wine. 😉 Prayers for all who need our support. Especially those suffering from debilitating pain or conditions. Cheers to all who are celebrating! May we each find a reason to smile today! ************* Parcelica Chica Monastrell 2019 I admit I had no clue what to expect when I started to research this Spanish red blend. Its name gave away nothing to me. 😎. But I would definitely love to taste this one! Might be a bit too bold for me, but maybe not. I used the 2019 vintage info, since it is still very available and is ready to enjoy now. Online prices start at a very reasonable $9.99 - which makes it an easy one to try! 91 James Suckling James Suckling-Murcia, Spain - "A very rich, juicy wine with the alcohol coming through, but there's plenty of blue fruit and polished, chewy tannins. Flavorful finish. New wood comes through. Yet, I like the opulence and the flavors here." Product Details Spain: Region Yecla Red blend ABV 14.5% Fruity, Oak Full-bodied
  15. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Florida had a record number of turtle nests that survived the season this year! We adopt nests and help tend them through hatching. If really lucky, we get to witness a hatching. May record numbers of hatchlings survive! Yesterday was warm, but it rained off & on most of the day. Bindi kept looking at me as if she expected me to stop it! If only. Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with us. I pray that you get relief from your pain - soon. Gym, Bindi walks - though it was still spitting here this morning. Cooler temps coming. Lots of chores. Need to wash the Christmas linens & towels. Prayers for all who need our support. Especially those with debilitating pain or conditions. @rafinmd Roy, hope you are back on your feet soon. Cheers to all who are celebrating. @smitty34877 Terry, glad you survived the endless I-84 trek. How I dreaded that drive. If you ever drive I-4 in Florida, you will see back-ups that challenge the worst of I-84s. May we each find a reason to smile today. *********** Primaterra Pinot Nero 2019 This light, dry red from Italy has quite a few consumer fans who think it is very good - excellent. I used the 2019 vintage info, since it seems to be the most recent vintage with info available. I would love a sip. Quite a few online distributors with prices starting at $9.99. Distributor’s notes COLOR: Red colored, not overly pronounced, generally bright. FRAGRANCE: Distinctive aroma of red berries, currant, blackberry, raspberry. FLAVOUR: Excellent versatility thanks to its good drinkability and refinement over time. Medium bodied, lively, elegant and with good freshness.
  16. Roy Thank you for letting us know. And thank you for knowing yourself well enough to know when something is not quite right. Ann
  17. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Yesterday turned out to be a lovely day. A couple of really long Bindi walks. And a great dinner with friends. The frozen Argentinian red shrimp from Aldi are as amazing as their frozen scallops. A little lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic and a tiny bit of butter - yummo! Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with us. I still can’t believe some of the things you keep track of! Praying that you find a solution to your pain. Gym, Aldi, Bindi walks & Christmas decorating are on the agenda today. It is already 66 & I hope the rain holds off until later tonight. Praying for all who need our support. Especially those with debilitating pain and conditions. @StLouisCruisers Sandi, hope you feel better. Cheers to all who are celebrating. @smitty34877 Terry, hope you made it home safely. Glad you got away for awhile to rejuvenate your spirit. May we each find a reason to smile today! *********** 2020 Bread & Butter Pinot Noir This Pinot Noir has thousands of consumer fans that give it a very good - excellent review! Easy to find and easy on the budget. Online distributor prices start at $13.99. BTW this vintner makes a great Chardonnay! Distributor notes NOSE: This Pinot Noir is all about that juicy red fruit. Think cherries and raspberries with a touch of cassis. Delicate hints of cedar and bay leaf balance the sweetness of the fruit, creating an enduring bouquet. MOUTH: That luscious fruit bouquet continues onto the palate, where it’s joined by soft flavors of oak and savory notes. The rich mouth feel is complemented by a long and beautifully smooth finish. PAIRINGS: This Pinot Noir pairs lovingly with flavor-rich dishes like barbeque, salmon, quail, and lamb.
  18. Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Yesterday was wet & raw. I had hoped to kayak, but no luck. But I got all the Christmas stuff out & deep cleaned all the areas they’ll go, so when my family is here on Sunday, we can get started. Vanessa, thank you for taking such amazing care of our lists. I noticed you didn’t believe you had any hidden talents. But you are WRONG. You have the amazing talent for ferreting out birthdays, anniversaries, important happenings and reasons to smile. And then sharing them. I pray that you will soon have a permanent relief to your pain. Zumba, Bindi walks, chores, cooking some garlic lemon shrimp for supper at a friends & picking up Panera Baja bowls on the way. And we will try some dark chocolate balls filled with limoncello from The Vermont Country store for dessert. Her oldest daughter is in town, and we will be decorating her place for Christmas. Prayers for all who need our support. Especially those suffering from debilitating pain or conditions. Cheers to all who are celebrating! @smitty34877 Terry, safe travels home today. Smart to go today. May we each find a reason to smile today! *********** 2020 Cass Viognier I would love to try this Paso Robles Viognier. It sounds interesting. A “racy” wine- c’mon! I usually see Viognier in a blend, or helping to smooth out a Syrah, not sure if I have ever had one as the star attraction. Available from a decent number of online distributors with prices starting at $19.99. 91 Wine Enthusiast REGION Central Coast ALCOHOL 14.5% Sour lime cuts right through the opulently floral aromas of gardenia, daffodil and tuberose on the nose of this bottling. The acidity is very racy on the palate, setting up tight and bright flavors of jasmine, mango and guava that retain freshness rather than ripeness.
  19. It is time to play “Find the Buck”….. weird the pic wouldn’t load when I tried to reduce the size. 🤔
  20. Debbie I loved your pictures of your family & feast. You are giving River some wonderful memories!
