I love the Triumph. She's my favorite ship!
-
I was joking. She's never slept on the floor, usually the couch. Once a roll away bed which she said was the most comfortable of all. Once it was a pullman bed which I didn't like because it was over my bed and I couldn't sit up.

CanWeGoYet, Thank you. We've been on Carnival a number of times but have never been on HAL.

Anyone have any comments on Cabin B130? For 3 people. We are taking a daughter who would sleep on the floor as long as she can go.

Love the review! Thanks for posting. I forgot to take the food pics. You are reminding me of those and more.

If it is a balcony added Carnival ship you should be very careful about it. Our cabin on the Ecstasy was very, very crowded.
-
I haven't been on the Sunshine but I always prefer a cabin with cabins above & below.
-
We've not had a spa balcony but have had Lido balconies several times. No problem. Just enough motion to know that you are on a ship instead of at home.
-
On the Triumph most Deck 1 cabins are good. On the 2nd deck you need to avoid being under the Galley. In general look at what is above and below your cabin. If its guest cabins you should be safe. I love the Lido balcony cabins but in the Winter Deck 1.
We have been on the Magic. I can tell you what was good, cant tell you what is bad. It is a very, very big ship. If your cabin is at either end what you want will probably be at the other!
I don't think that I would like an inside cabin anywhere!

You will love being on the Rhapsody. Perhaps you could change cabins?
-
We always look below and above a cabin that we might book. I also rely on the knowledge of my Travel Agent.
-
I should think that if you want to avoid movement on a ship you'd go mid ship and low. And the Deck 1 rooms are larger than the balconies.
-
We have been on the Triumph Lido and have had no noise problem. As long as you are between passenger decks you should be fine. Could you get a room farther forward? You are closer to the open deck than we have been but I think you should be fine.

Stay away from 6507, 6476, and 6474 unless you don't go to sleep until after 2pm! It is amazing that on a new ship where the ceiling of a comedy club meets the floor of upgraded cabins (cabins are quite nice!) that there is no insulation? Even better, some simple detective work revealed that speakers are attached to the ceilings (how absolutely ignorant). Obviously this experience is consistent with the multiple mechanical problems with Carnival. Not only do these ships tend to attract the "fun party" drinkers, but apparently the planning staff are also clueless? The only reason to be attracted to these cabins is if you feel the need for some punishment.
DJ:)
I have learned that it is safer to have cabins above and below. We had a problem on the Carnival Conquest with speakers aimed straight up. The floor vibrated and we could hear every word.

We were on an aft balcony cabin in Jan. and loved it! The only objection that I could have was that it was the AFT part of the ship and lots of things happened on the Forward part and it is a long way from front to back.
-
I don't know about the aft balconies but the Lido balconies are wonderful!

Thanks, Marty. The Rhapsody was my favorite ship, now I like the Triumph. I do use a scooter on ships and I can't wait to go again.

.
why are you intimadated>
Because the ship is so large and I walk badly. I use a scooter but prefer smaller ships.

Hi - We were on Allure in room 9520 - a D2 cabin. I'll attempt to attach a photo (I'm new at posting on CC) - having a connecting room in this case meant that there wasn't even a couch - just the single chair. Not a real problem as we loved Allure - just a lesson learned about double checking for connecting rooms.
Was that an ocean or an inside balcony? Did you like the Allure? I'm kinda intimidated.
-
It's now bookmarked. Thank you!

When in Nov are you going? 5 or 4 days? It will be so great!!!

Does anyone have info on cabin 9249 on the Triumph? It's my first balcony and I want it to good (or at least decent). Thanks. :D
We've been on the Triumph Lido deck twice. It's wonderful. Good size rooms, not noisy, convenient to everything. You will really like it!

Why do you need a card with a magnetic strip? How does that work in the safe? Sorry, this seems totally foreign to me. Is that how it works on all ships, or just RCCL?
You slide it just as you do your credit card at the grocery. A used up gift card is good. I understand that some of the newer Carnival ships want a card in a slot to turn on lights. I haven't been on one so don't understand it.

Here are some photos I took of my Cove Balcony on Carnival Dream. As you can see in a couple of the photos, we were sailing in a storm and the storm doors were not closed. So I am guessing it has to really be pretty bad out to warrant closure of the storm doors. I loved the cove balcony! It was really exciting to be so close to the water! :D
Thank you for the pics! We will be in a Cove on the Magic but not until May. Should I take my fishing pole?
Don't book this (these) rooms

Carnival did!
We were in a deck 6 cabin on the Carnival Triumph. It turned out to be over a band with the speakers straight up. Carnival thinks that you are having more FUN if it's loud. We could hear every note and feel vibrations. After coming up with a thing that measured sound they moved us to a better cabin. And a quiet one. They looked at us kinda funny at our answer to the question of what time we go to bed.
