  1. Does anyone know if a catamaran ride to Nevis from St Kitts will let you go walk around Nevis instead of snorkelling? We will be there on Feb 1/18 with Celebrity Silhouette. I don’t want to do a long island tour of Nevis, like to be on a catamaran but don’t want to snorkel!

  2. Check the second from the top posting on pg 71. There is the link to the spreadsheet that he maintains that includes the info you want. Also read some of the other recent postings. Someone just mentioned a shore excursion they planned with room for more. Your best bet is posting any questions there.

My problem is I don’t know how to post on Roll Call!!! I don’t know how to reply or ask a new question. On the main board I am replying inside the white box that has your post. But in roll call when I hit on quick reply I can’t see where to type. I’ve tried “discussions” as well. No luck. I see the post about a shore excursion but as soon as I go into roll call to either reply or post new I can’t do it in either roll call or discussions. Beyond frustrated

Both Sandy and I are also both home today because of the snowstorm (our offices are also closed). WIth your permission I'm going to steal your line "a warm drink on a cold day but a warm beach with a cold drink sounds perfect right now". I couldn't agree more!!
  3. Go to the roll call and start at the end. Find a listing from Romchek1/Larry, he has been maintaining a spreadsheet of all activities planned by those on the cruise that week. He usually adds the link at the end of his postings. He has a posting with it near the top of the last page of roll call posts.

Thanks. It looks like even the main boards here are different from when I’ve used CC before. So I hope this is how I reply now lol. Anyway I see a post from Romchek1/Larry in roll call but I still don’t know how to send him a message! Should I be starting a new thread?

  4. Is anyone planning on doing private excursions while in port at Barbados or St Kitts? I am wondering about going over to Nevis while in St Kitts. I’ve typically only done private excursions if on a Mediterranean cruise but starting to think private tours might be safer than what Celebrity offers.

Also have never been to St Lucia.....any ideas on what to do and see there?

    Thanks!

  5. Trying to find out for my brother-in-law going on a Carnival cruise for the 1st time. I have read all about the Cheers Beverage package for $49.95 plus 15% grats a day but he seems to think that he read something about a $25 a day beverage package. Is there one like this, maybe to be used at certain bars on board? Thanks.

  6. Wow, has Celebrity changed their internet packages. Last year I was still able to buy a package of so many minutes and spread it out over the week. Doing a 10 day cruise and choices were only 1 hr, 24 hrs and the no limit package for $224!!! I'm pretty mad at such horrible packages. So now people can't contact us unless it's an emergency and they have to call. Also I need to use computer to pick our seats 2nd last day so I will have to buy the 1 hour package. I'm sure computer people or guest relations won't do anything about it. Celebrity is obviously trying to get people to buy Go Best.

  7. It's always good to check in as early as possible to claim a seat in case it is an overbooked flight. Printing out the board pass before you gets to the airport allows you to bypass the line at the kiosk.

Thanks, I have heard the same thing that it is a good idea to check in early in case of overbooked flights so I always do check in at the 24 hour mark.

  8. Seems like another example of people on CC trying to change another persons behavior. The OP was looking for information about where he could print his boarding passes not a discussion about why he didn't need to print them. If he wants paper boarding passes then let's try to give him the info.

Yes, there are still locations where you can print boarding passes. Improved internet speeds and others using electronic boarding passes have made printing boarding passes much easier and faster than the OP experienced several years ago. I don't expect the OP to have any difficulty. Please note, you will need to use "free minutes" or purchase internet time to print the passes.

Thanks :D. I did get my info! Because you can use your tablet/ipad in the cabin I haven't had to go to the main computer room for awhile so I didn't know anything about your last paragraph here. Makes sense. I still have to purchase my internet time (getting close to Elite) but will make sure to keep time for picking my seats and print the passes.

  9. Yes, there's always computer available even on the last day at the computer room. Nothing to worry about, we've never had to wait since the new faster internet is in place. In the past when the internet was snail speed, you may have to wait 5 mins, but nowadays, there's absolutely no wait time.

Oh that is great news! I haven't had to print out a boarding for about 5 years (had been driving) so I am really happy that this won't take long. Thanks.

  10. I do not understand why people worry about printing boarding passes in advance. You still have to go through the kiosk at the airport to check your luggage and you can print the passes at the same time. Is there something that I am missing?

    DON

I really don't want to have to go to that room because it will probably be busy but I have to pick out our seats. Plus we have Nexus card with pre-approved TSA so when I print out our boarding pass it will show a box with TSA approval and then we can use the short line at security in the airport. We have to show them our boarding pass with that on it though.

  11. My dh and I have been driving to Fort Lauderdale/Port Everglades the last few years but this year we are flying in and out of Fort Lauderdale. We can't print off of our tablets so I was wondering if Equinox still has a computer room where I could use their computer to check in with airline and print out boading pass the day before we get off ship? I would think that it's pretty busy that day but I don't know if they still have computers for people to use.

  12. Thanks everyone! I just realized that I only have 1 pair of good, summer slacks and we are going on a 10 night cruise so I will definitely need to wear the capris (plus a dress or 2). Yes, it is getting a bit crazy what some people are wearing into the MDR. My husband wishes they hadn't got rid of the formal nights. I just think they should enforce the dressing codes a bit more.

I will feel better wearing the capris now with nice top and shoes.

    :)

  13. We disembarked in FLL around 9:30 a few weeks ago with 7 ships in port. We were in a suite so were able to bypass the long line in the terminal heading to luggage. Got a porter who took us and our luggage to the Global Entry Line, which was virtually empty, out to a cab and we were on our way to the airport within 5-10 minutes. Best $10 I spent on the cruise. TSA Pre was also very fast for South West. Of course, our 2:30 flight was delayed an hour so we had a lot of time to kill, at least it was a non stop flight.

We haven't flown to a port in a number of news as well but next week we will be. This is great news to read about Port Everglades having the Global Entry Line! I didn't know that but it will help us out as well. We always get a porter to move us fast...well worth the money.

  14. Yeah...I would add this....Cuzco, Machu Picchu, even Lima, are a destination in themselves. The quickie, grossly overpriced excursion offered by the cruise line seriously shortchanges the adventure traveler who is interested in the history and scenic beauty of the area.

I was there last week. On the day before xmas. They issue 2500 tickets per day to limit visitors to the ruins. All 2500 showed up! LOL

Cuzco has a ton of Inca and Spanish sites to visit, too. All are totally engrossing.

Spend some time with google and search 'Cuzco, Lima, Machu Picchu'.

Oh..and the altitude thing is very real, but not at Machu Picchu....Cuzco is the high altitude location that affects most visitors.

Thanks, I will google those places. I had heard they were going to start limiting visitors. It definitely sounds like doing a tour excursion to Machu Picchu with cruise lines isn't worth it. It helps to know that the altitude sickness isn't at Machu Picchu....maybe I just wouldn't spend much time at Cuzco. I definitely need to use good old google!
