I'm interested to hear about your experiences as solo on Explora, which I'm also considering (solo).  I don't cruise for anything less than 2 weeks, though - preferably 3-4, but they do have some interesting itineraries and I hear great things.

A friend sailed with Explora recently & highly recommended them.

Am happy to give you my impressions in June.

They have a couple more, longer TAs in November which look interesting,........

24th March 39 nights veranda on the Sojourn Taiwan to Singapore $12596 + tax

On EVERY other cruise ship I have been on have successfully followed the "notch" principle !

"Feet forward"is a great way to cruise, however I am particularly anal 🙂

Was particularly seasick on Nova ( last year was on a number of trips including Silver Cloud Antartica) with no problems.)

I love a bath too, so finding both on Nova, quite difficult ......

Thank you everyone who has responded regarding my bathroom question. My next question is 'which cabins have a forward facing bed? Looking specifically at deck 8 between 8069 - 8095. I think I understand how the notches work but ????

Recently disembarked from the Nova ,booked 6010

    Feet "aft"

    Go figure 😉

We got this from SS last Sunday, we were sailing 1st Feb Doha to Muscat, you will note, there are two ticks by the side of the offers, our TA has confirmed its a full refund AND 20% off a future cruise booked by 2024.

We hope this letter finds you well. Today, we are writing with important news regarding your 2 February 2024 voyage aboard Silver Moon.

Due to the fluid geopolitical situation in the region that has most recently escalated after military action and under advisement from our Global Security team, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel your 6-night voyage departing from Doha to Muscat. We sincerely regret this disruption to your travel plans and assure you this decision was made after thorough consideration and prioritising, as always, the safety and security of our guests and crew.

In light of this news, we would like to offer:
    icon-check
A refund of the full cruise fare paid, including any flight cancellation costs and fees*
    icon-check
A saving of 20% on any published 2024 sailing of your choice excluding World Cruise and Grand Voyages.

*For guests with independent air arrangements, Silversea will reimburse reasonable out-of-pocket costs for any change, cancellation, or differential air travel fees. To request a reimbursement, guests should email receipts to GuestRelations@silversea.com. Refunds and claims will be reviewed and processed within 30 days of receipt.

Note: If a prior FCC was applied to your booking, it would be reinstated to your guest profile with the previous amount.

IMPORTANT: If you booked your Silversea cruise as part of a package with a Tour Operator or Travel Agency, please refer to them for the full terms and conditions of your overall package and any elements other than the cruise.

Thank you for understanding the circumstances beyond our control that necessitated the cancellation of your voyage. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact your travel advisor or cruise consultant or reach out to Resolutionsdesk@silversea.com

We sincerely hope to welcome you aboard another Silversea voyage exploring our planet's authentic beauty in whispered Italian luxury and all-inclusive comfort.

    Best personal regards,
    Silversea

    Hi Fudge,

The following is word for word from my TA.

    Dear Sue,

I am also very sad that Silversea had to cancel the voyage, and I would be happy to help arrange a refund back to your credit card, however Silversea is adamant about it being either a full refund, or 20% off another sailing for 2024, they refuse to do both, even though the letter did not say And/Or between the two line offers and is very ambiguous.  I have spoken with several offices and all say the same thing.  If you find another sailing for this year, I can try to force the issue with them again and as them to  book it for you with additional 20% discount from this offer (cannot guarantee the results, but will do my best). Please let me know.

I am interested in taking a World Cruise when I retire and was wondering if they all charge the single supplement if you go alone?  Also do they have single cabins?

    So...............................

You need to bring your retirement forward to Jan 11th 2024 & book Seabourn Sojourns World Cruise(145 nights) in 2 halves, which brings the price down to under $55,000,solo.

  8. 20th Feb 2024 Sydney-10th May  + inc night Four Seasons Gala Ball.

80 Day Grand Australia,Asia & Alaska on the Odessey.

    Inc $3,000 obc,laundry.

I booked in the UK £22,500,friend booked US under $30,000 for a veranda,(O/V MUCH cheaper + all the perks)

They have a number of really good offers for solos at the moment.

    Seabourn $$ inc tips,drinks wi-fi (champagne & caviar )

Past passengers seem to be getting a further 5% reduction on a number cruises & if you are new, get

some one to refer you for extra obc 🙂

Silversea has a 25% single supplement on many of its cruises.

Also Silversea offer new cruisers a $500 discount when referred by a previous Silversea friend. Add to that a good TAs discount & some of there prices are almost competitive 🙂

It's nice to see people getting these bargains, but could you please share where you found them, so that others of us can try to get them? When I looked at the Seabourn site it was over $9000 per person. And nothing about a solo rate.

    Hi Akronmaid,

It was a SILVERSEA not Seabourn Cruise I booked via Silversea UK, not a travel agent. The price I quoted in the above was the price I paid in £ sterling.

    Sorry my post was confusing.

    @mandymay

Is that a solo rate or are you and your friend sharing a cabin? If it's a solo rate it's an excellent price for a 23-night cruise on Silversea. And you're right: it's a great itinerary. I've transited the Panama Canal twice, once on Silversea, and it's a memorable experience. If you have time after such a long cruise, stay a couple of days in Vancouver. It's an attractive, walkable city and the weather should be nice that time of year.

    Have fun!

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

That price is for a solo Veranda suite.

Have looked at the "included "excursions & well worth while.

Really looking forward to the Panama canal transit.

  13. Not for everyone 🙂

Please dont "flame me!" because Iv just booked this myself ,via UK,so dont know if price is same

    everywhere?

Silversea, Silver Nova April 16th-May 9th (23 nights) Fort Lauderdale to Vancouver

    £4,200

Not bargain basement I know ,but a veranda, butler,Champagne & caviar, wifi, tips, excursion in

every port.Everything except flights, but any one flying from London we bought BA nonstop £600

    (including suitcase ) on Skyscanner

A friend just booked who has not been on Silversea before & through there referral scheme we

will both get a FURTHER  £350 each off the price so win, win.

Deposit is non refundable ,but in the UK we are used to this 🙂

Really lovely itinerary in my opinion.......
