There isn't anything wrong with the valor. My wife and I took our honeymoon cruise on it and loved it. I think with a lot of ships changing home ports they just don't have time to put it in dry lock and upgrade it right now.

If you look at all the reviews of the valor, it's always been a popular cruise out of Puerto Rico so carnival makes money on it.

When does the product that was purchased on board in the duty free shop get delivered? And at what time the last evening does the duty free shop allow you to take your purchases with you?

They get delivered the night before you disembark.

VIFP doesn't really mean anything for boarding purposes, just means you've been on a cruise before. So in all reality you, your boyfriend and parents can all board at the same time.

1. Just signed up for a last minute 5 day cruise on the Paradise. Not the biggest or best but it was last minute. Any reviews.

 

2. Heard about the Cheers Program for alcohol drinkers. Thought it was great until in the small print it states that both people in a cabin have to sign up if one wants it. My wife doesn't drink that much. Any comments?

Cheers probably isn't for you then. Its really only a good bargain if both people are going to use it to the fullest

I've been in 2 NYE cruises with carnival. One on the liberty and another in the dream. It isn't considered a formal night so pack enough formal clothes if your into doing that. NYE will be fun, deck party on lido, champagne, confetti, dj with music all that fun stuff

My wife and I got an upsell from a balcony to a grand suite on the valor and loved it. Our room steward was great, probably the best in all 6 cruises we have had.

The last upgrade we got was for our honeymoon cruise in April on the valor. We went from a normal balcony to a grand suite for a few hundred dollars. I couldn't resist. Never made a counter officer though. Don't think it would work.
