When will the new itineraries be available for booking? Out October 30th 2016 Splendor was cancelled and when we called none of the new sailings were available.

Carnival cancelled our October 30 2016 Splendor cruise...

After dropping off my stuff in my cabin, I headed top deck with a barely charged camera, to enjoy sailaway shortly. I noticed that Northstar was operating, and going off to the sides! Having been told that Northstar would not move to the sides in port, I was surprised at this. So I headed over there.

 

 

Do you know the reason why Northstar does not move to the sides in/close to port?

I wanna say it has to do with the possibility of the pod breaking off. If it breaks off over water, it will probably float, but over land surely injuries/death would occur.

I'm watching the webcam now. That is one beautiful ship.

I read there was a charge for going on Northstar during sunrise/sunset. Is that true?

Does anyone have pictures of an actual oceanview/porthole room on Quantum? I did some Google-ing and only found Oceanview BALCONY pictures but none of just an oceanview.

Any help is appreciated.

So from that shipyard photo I see cove balconies - so its safe to assume its basically an expansion on the Dream class.

Wow really great review so far. We're considering the 'Anthem' so this gives us a good idea what we could expect. Its definitely much more elegant and stylish compared to the Carnival we're used to.

Then I would presume that the pic is reliable however something seems like it's missing such as all of the waterworks and rope course that Sunshine has as it seems to me that the newest of the new would have most of those toy's too.

I made the assumption that the area right above the sign saying 'Vista' is the rope course. WaterWorks looks like the same as the Dream class.

We go to the Lido deck to grab lunch and then walk around, perhaps swim or go to WaterWorks.

Is it just me or does anyone else miss the 'tall' whale tales? The flat ones don't look as cool.

Have to agree with you there. However since these ships are bigger the funnels most likely need to be shorter to meet height restrictions.

Well out of the two Carnival cruises (and cruises in general), which were on the Sensation and Destiny, I'd have to say the Destiny.

This is mostly because its a 3-Day vs 5-Day - as well as Destiny being a larger ship with more to do, and the cruise going to more ports of call.

However points to Sensation for having a far superior pool-deck.

If thats what it actually looks like...I love it - a lot. :D

I am currently browsing Breeze as we are booking her shortly, and came across the Interior rooms with Walkway view. They were similarly priced to oceanviews, if not cheaper, and look to be bigger than normal rooms and get a picture window on the Lido deck, with a large open deck a few feet away.

Perhaps give that a look.

I said NY - closest port to us. Of course, I want to try the Splendor first.

Is the Splendor ever going to get 2.0 upgrades?

Hot tubs are in a much better spot IMHO.
