  1. We have a late flight out of FLL after our November cruise and had been looking at a debark tour to the Everglades, however, while it was available in my booking quite some time back, it isn't available any longer.  If I look at excursions on this cruise not in my booking, the debark (and embark) tours show up, but within my booking, Fort Lauderdale is not highlighted so I can't click on it to see the tours.  Anyone have any experience with this?  I'll give Princess a call, but thought I'd reach out to you fine folks prior to doing that.  Thanks in advance.

  2. I have the Plus drink package on an upcoming cruise and understand that it includes bottled water (500 ml or less) and am wondering where on board you can get this.  Do they have bottled water at the bar or elsewhere?  Past cruises I've typically purchased a water package and Princess at $7:00 plus for 12 bottles isn't a bad deal.....but if its included, I'm thinking why not pick it up as part of the drink package.  Any experience would be appreciated.

  3. I booked one just fine but had a similar problem when coming to the payment section trying to book another. Tried about 3 times with no luck. was using my laptop so switched to my phone and it went through just fine.  Maybe a lot of bookings today with the $50 deposit is gumming things up.

DW and I each have a Navica account set up on our phones. Is that what you did? Or just separate sign ins on the Emed site when you test?

We have one main Navica profile and login for me and set up a 'managed profile' for DH.  I think the managed profile is really for parents to manage testing of minors but it still worked for us.  Either way you'll need separate calls.

We recently took a Mexican Riviera cruise and went to Stone Island by ourselves. It was cheap and easy. Here is how it is done:

Nicely done - description and pictures.  Wish I would have taken a pic of the lunch we got on the NCL Stone Island tour - no comparison!  Still was fun though so for anyone hesitant to head out on their own is probably a good tour.

I will wait for the OP’s go ahead, but we did a Stone Island trip completely and easily on our own.  I can give details if anyone’s interested, but don’t want to hijack.

I was on the NCL tour this cruise and have also done it DIY in the past.  We had fun on the NCL tour but I'd say the drinks and food were much better when we did it on our own.  Lots of shade available on the NCL tour but no loungers - it was all tables and chairs.  I think a description of your experience would be very helpful to folks.

  7. I had a regular balcony on the Encore recently and the couple we traveled with had the Club Balcony.  Our balcony room was the smallest such room we've ever had.  The couch was so close to the closet that it was really awkward to access the closet.  The bathroom in the club balcony is definitely bigger (theirs had a tub) but I think the living area was slightly larger as well.  I don't care about the bigger bathroom but was so irritated with the size of the regular balcony that we booked the club balcony for our upcoming Bliss cruise.  So take that NCL!  (Oh, I guess they did.....took more of my money that is:))

Nice that Canvas by U is available once again.

Be sure to sign up ASAP if you want to do this.  We missed out on our 9/11 sailing as both sessions were full.  Not sure if you can do it in advance, but find out when and where and be there early if you want to do it.  Only about 20 spots available on 2 days on our sailing which may be different now of course.

Sooo looking forward to my turn on the 25th! Is Choir of Man performing on your cruise?

Unfortunately not. Saw kinky boots and it was far and away the best show I've seen on a cruise ship. Seems many think choir of man is even better so sorry to have missed that

The walk from ship to excursion busses at Ward Cove may be a bit much for dh. Do they provide a cart ride for semi disabled? TIA

I saw crew bringing wheelchairs and helping people with mobility issues off and on the ship so probably a matter of inquiring with guest services

  11. I believe the gondola goes between wilderness landing and adventure landing with adventure landing being closest to the cannery complex. We docked at Adventure Landing which may be why the gondola wasn't running. Hope I got that right but you can google a map of icy straight point.  It is a bit of a walk to the cannery but they did have trams for the disabled (not to be confused with the tram that goes to Hoonah)

To get to the tram that goes to Hoonah, you basically walk through the cannery complex and will find the ticket building out back

  12. Weather turned out great this afternoon.  We got in earlier than they had advertised - about 2:30 I think. Was bummed that the gondola wasn't running though. Took the tram to Hoonah and explored a bit

I asked one of the officers I ran in to how many guests this week and was told 2,228. Someone else was told slightly more but still under 2300.

    Having a fabulous time!

  13. Agree with above. For testing just drop your luggage and find the nearest ncl staff to help. I may have seen something nearer the luggage drop for disabled testing

Enjoyed our dinner at Q last night and the Beatles tribute. The ship decor is lovely. Had a daily in our room when we came back. They may be trying to discontinue the paper but it is so much handier than the app. SIL said there was someone near guest services walking about asking if you wanted paper copies in your stateroom

  14. I'm on board but hadn't planned any kind of live review. I am happy to answer any questions you might have but have limited WiFi and not getting on too frequently.
So with that I will give a couple of personal observations.  Testing was a breeze. Both Marriott and the convention center were open. We finished that but still had to wait about 1/2 hour until they started boarding. Quite a few masked up yesterday but not so much today. I can't get the ncl app to work for onboard texting and calling despite a couple visits to guest services. Looks like kinky boots is a go this week - we have a reservation for Wednesday. Haven't seen anything on Choir of man so assuming it is still a no go.

That's all for now. Gotta go have some more fun!

I appreciate all the testing suggestions, but that’s really not my question,..I can’t be the only one having a hard time deciphering the sail safe email?

You're not alone.  I'm also in the Seattle area, on the 9/11 sailing, and totally agree that the email seems to address only the costs associated with quarantining and getting home, not whether your cruise fare will be refunded.  Still planning to play it safe and get tested next week.

Does WA require that everybody in the state testing positive for Covid be placed into quarantine?  Do they call the police if I test positive at the port test?

While public health requirements are that you isolate if testing positive, I'm not aware of any enforcement, but I would hope they'd follow up with you.  And though it should go without saying, I'll say it anyway - anyone who chooses to disregard that policy is unbelievably selfish in their cavalier disregard for others.
