We too are on the same cruise as you, wanting to simply take transportation into the city, see sights on our own, In particular the Wwekend Market, spending the night, then returning the next day to the ship. How much is the transportation offered by Holland America? Does anyone else know an alternate way to get into Bangkok?

We are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that offers both free shuttle from the airport and to the port of Miami. We have found a price on Expedia for $133 at the Best Western. Is there any other suggestions? We will be flying into Ft. Lauderdale. Would greatly appreciate insight on this.

Sounds like the perfect get away! Do you remember if they had snorkel gear there or do we need to bring our own? How much was the cab?

After reading the great reviews on Papitos Beach Club have booked it for my daughter and I for July 31st. Does anyone know if they supply snorkel equipment or do we need to bring our own. Also, how much is a cab for 2 to get there and is there a problem getting one to take us back? Finally, as it is an all inclusive, what sort of lunch do they serve? Looking very much forward to a laid back, quiet day on the beach!

I have seen older postings of where best to park when leaving out of Galveston. I am wondering if there are any new places this year or what is currently the easiest to use. We will be sailing on Carnival at the end of July. We would greatly appreciate hearing suggestions from past guests.

We have now spoken with Madpérola - Rent a Car [madperola@madperola.com] They will meet us at the Port with the rental car...40.60 euro for the car. Can you suggest to us the best use of our day to tour the island? The ship departs at 17:00, so we will sadly have to miss the flower parade to be back on ship in time.

You have been wonderful giving out advise to all! There are 4 of us traveling together. We will be arriving in Funchal on Sunday, April 22, and will be there for only 10 hours total. On Sundays, I understand that most of the town is closed. One of the members of our party absolutely will not do the cable cars so we are now thinking of renting a car. Is there a rental car company near the port that we can walk to or do you have one you can suggest? Since we have so little time, we were thinking of making the drive to Nuns Valley. What do you suggest?
