  1. I'm having a hard time choosing between outside category 4 staterooms 7000 and 9000 on the Celebrity Millennium. From what I've read, while 7000 has a great forward view, but with a recessed porthole, it is somewhat smaller than 9000, the latter including a small couch, which the former lacks. That said, I am traveling alone, so the size of the stateroom alone is not the deciding factor. Would very much appreciate your suggestions. Also, do you think I might be disturbed by noise from above in 9000, which is not beneath another stateroom?

    Many thanks.

  2. I'm planning on booking the Celebrity Millennium transpacific cruise departing Vancouver in September 2016. However, since my last Celebrity cruise (also on the Millennium) I have retired and one thing I hate is to have to wear a tie Since Azamara, which is country club informal, does not sail this itinerary, Celebrity is my only choice. So my question is: on semi formal and even "formal nights" can I get away in the main dining room and/or specialty restaurants with wearing a blue blazer over a dress shirt with no tie?

    Thanks for your help.

  3. I booked an ocean view stateroom on one of the higher decks (10), but, having paid an almost 100% supplement for single occupancy, will be watching out for any upcoming RCCL "Wow sales" or resident specials (I live in the USA - California). This will be my first RCCL cruise, though I have enjoyed several cruises with their sibling brands, Azamara and Celebrity (particularly enjoying Azamara). I note you both referred to alcoholic beverages as being included, but no such special has been offered here (the only small "extra" I received was a $100 onboard credit). Very much looking forward to experiencing RCCL's newest ship!

  4. I seriously considering an HAL transatlantic cruise, but only one thing is now stopping me: since my recent retirement, I really detest wearing a tie and jacket (no less a suit). I have sailed on and feel most comfortable on cruise lines that have a country club casual policy (my last cruise was with Paul Gauguin Cruises' Tere Moana), like Paul Gauguin, Oceania, Azamara, Windtstar.

So my question is can I get away, not at the buffet, but in the main dining room or extra cost specialty restaurants, wearing a navy blazer and no tie on"formal nights?" Or if absolutely necessary, wearing a blazer and removing the tie after dinner? (I'm also concerned about checking overweight luggage on my international and domestic US connections, so would wear the blazer when traveling and not pack a suit or extra sport coat. I'm grateful for your thoughts and would want to know in advance if I'd be ostracized...thanks.
