  1. I've given up until our final payment is made and I need to start making reservations. It seems it's getting from bad to horrible. I too booked choice air that I didn't get a confirmation from but know it's there because I had at to contact them and they had it. I would take a screen shot as soon as you have something confirmed (and print) because it may be your only proof with confirmation #s etc.

  2. I have been on both X and Princess numerous times for the Coastals. Doing it again on X - 10 day in May. Choose the one with the best itinerary. If only X overnights in S.F. I'd do that. Pros and cons to both. By the way, as much as I like Celebrity their website is a trainwreck. Go to another TA to research prices, cabins etc.

  3. If you are trying to book through Celebrity's website they are the absolute worst user friendly site. If you are Costco members, sometimes they let you request a cabin that is not shown as available (there is a tab online) and will let you book it if it is not sold. Sometimes I will shop there for availability and then shop best price and call the TA knowing that cabin is not booked.

  4. I am afraid this website is getting worse.. I can't even bring up my reservation to add dinner packages etc. Says I am locked out. It shows my reservation but I can't access it. If I wasn't aware of all the problems by reading these posts I'd be tearing my hair out. I have never encountered such an inept website. They must be losing lots of $ by frustrated customers. Unbelievable.

  5. I wonder if this stems from what I imagine was a mass cancellation of bookings after the Caribbean hurricane..

While I am planning up to 2 years in advance, I will not book too far into the future with a non-refundable booking.

That being said, I don't think they suffer too much to be holding hundreds of thousands of dollars (millions?) in future cruise deposits. That is in their account, not yours. Even if they have to refund a certain portion, don't they earn interest in it?

  6. On my last cruise I signed up for a future cruise to take advantage of the onboard credit offered. I booked a cruise and transferred it to my TA. The fees and taxes and "port expenses" totaled $585. My TA's website and all other checks on the same cruise charged $535 in taxes and fees. When I transferred, the TA said they couldn't reduce that amount because it was set by Celebrity. I got a better price and perks but don't understand why Celebrity is charging an extra $50 in their fee section. Has anyone else noticed this?

  7. We are considering a 10 day cruise and the upcharge is $300pp plus tips for

the Explore 4 beverage package package. $30 per day pp isn't too bad. My question is do they factor in an additional 15% to the $300 or is it a per drink basis? If it's per drink, does that include bottled water? It's all very vague to me!

  8. My question is specific to a certain itinerary. Princess has a 10 day Baja and Mexico cruise. My question is can one get off in Cabo san Lucas, and get back on in the scheduled ports of La Paz or Loreto a day or so later and an then continue the cruise to Puerto Vallarta and back to L.A.? I understand about keeping your passport and maybe even a visa but is it doable without any other complications/fines? I have friends with family in La Paz and these 3 ports are an easy drive to one another.

And also taken into consideration the weather.. I understand if the ship is diverted it's on you. Has anyone done this?
