  1. My wife doesn’t drink alcohol. Is there a package, other than the non-alcoholic, for just sofas. Coke, Coke Zero and the like. $32.99 a day seems a little steep.

  2. Hello again. I’ve been doing some research. Clearly celebrity has eliminated their sofa package. Does this mean we have to buy the non-alcoholic package in order to get sofas????

    thanks in advance

  3. Hello everyone. My wife and I just booked our third Celebrity cruise. I thought I had read on here that drink packages get offered sometimes at a discount. My wife doesn’t drink enough to warrant it at full price. She maybe drinks 2 or 3 a day. Does anybody know if that is correct or was I just wishing it true lol.

    thanks a lot

  4. I am wondering if there is a way of finding out who the host is in the piano bars. We are cruising the Horizon Mar 2nd. if anybody knows who it is or can push me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance,

Not sure i understand the question.  the splash area is designed for just that, to keep the water in the area.  Your feet will surely get wet, but soak????  I have stayed in Havana rooms on Vista class ships 8 times.  Never had a water issue….

Sorry for the confusion jimbo. The actual pool wasn’t even full. The sitting area around the pool was bone dry. Right up until the day we were getting off the boat. I’m confident from your answer our situation was rare and shouldn’t be an issue.

    thanks

  6. Hello all!

This question is for anyone staying in the Horizon Havana area now or recently. I am wondering if the pool level is high enough to soak

your feet while sitting in the tiki chairs?? We cruised on the vista and the water level was about 8 inches or so below the pool edge and the pool itself was extremely dirty.

    Thanks

  7. Hello

Is this pool area a carnival only thing??? It's the first time I've seen it and I'm usually up to speed on these things. They slipped one by me. We love Amber Cove and are hoping this is similar.

Just an FYI, some travel agents, including the one we use, include gratuities and other perks as part of the price. On our next cruise we got the X "free" wi-fi, basic drink package and OBC. From our TA we got  "free" gratuities and another 10% in refundable OBC at less cost than the regular cruise fare from X.

    hello mac66

Sounds like you have an amazing travel agent. Is there a way I could het their info. Mine is good, but yours sounds better. I always like to shop around.

    Thanks

I really wasn't correcting you. Just the title to this thread.

I’m so sorry dog hog for the title of this thread. I didn’t really think it would lead to a teaching moment for yourself. If it bothers u that much, pass over it and move on. Or better yet, just answer the question. I believe what I asked was, do these packages go on sale. You can call it whatever you want. I don’t care, but answer the damn question or move on.

thank you mahasamatman for your clarification. Much appreciated.

The drink package goes on sale, but "some inclusive" is part of the fare.

    Hello mahasamatman.

can you elaborate on some inclusive please? I am a beer drinker only and my wife will have the odd frozen drink.

    thanks

  11. Hello all!!

My wife and I are about to book another Celebrity cruise. We were going to book it without the all inclusive option. I have heard on more than one occasion the all inclusive package goes on sale periodically.  As much as 50% off I’ve heard. Is there truth to that??? My wife isn’t much of a drinker so to pay full price for both would be a huge waste of money.

    Thanks a lot in advance

Like Zipper1, we've saved tens of thousands over the course of the years by using gift cards. I am always buying gift cards for Carnival and restaurants we frequent.

    Hello all

i am from Canada and would love to take advantage of these gift cards. Are they tied to the purchaser or could I have a friend buy them for.

I know enough people in the US and I’m all about saving money.

We have used magnets with no problem on Seaside, at least on the walls. Never tried the door.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply!!!!

  14. Hello All

I have a quick question for a friend. I have never sailed with MSC in the past so i couldn't answer her inquiry. On past cruises I have taken, I was able to apply  magnetic hooks on the walls for hanging odds and ends. Does this work with MSC?

Thank you to everyone in advance

I assume you meant onboard account, so yes. Once on board you just add the gift card balance to your on board account at a kiosk (or guest services).

Ok. I’m on the AARP website. Where would I find these cards?? Sorry for being a pain.

Anyone can use them that had the number and pin so long as your booking accepts gift cards for payment (not from Canada so not familiar w/payment details on Canadian bookings).

I was just going to add it to my online account. Is that possible?????

    thanks

Look at AARP gift card limits, my advice is use the kiosk and deposit however much you want into your on board account. Don't by cruise cash as said before it not used not refundable.

We charge to room and use gift card to pay balance on board, you don't need to use the full balance of the card if you don't want to. If you gamble you can move OBC to your casino account and then cash out at the casino cage. We bought a $500 e-gift card from AARP several weeks ago and paid off our Christmas cruise, put a deposit down on a 2025 cruise and still have over $250 left over to take on our Vista cruise this weekend. Will run that balance through the casino and if lucky will cash out more the $250.

Have fun and enjoy your cruise.

    Hello everyone.

I am from Canada but have friends in the USA. Can they purchase these for me or would their name be associated to them?

    thanks in advance

  18. Hello everyone.

I just watched a video from 5 days ago stating there were bed bug issues on the Carnival Horizon. Has anyone heard the same?  We are cruising on her, next year mind you, and find this worrisome.

    Thanks a lot

There seems to be an issue with the CERAMIC units.  It doesn't seem to be the amount of power drawn, but in the way ceramic heating elements react with the ships power.   I don't know all the technical aspects of ship's power, but it has something to do with both legs of power on the ship being around 60 volts to ground and 120 volts between then, whereas normal power is around 110 to 125 volts to ground on one leg and zero volts to ground on the other leg, for the 110 to 125 volts.

I assume someone with knowledge of the electrical systems on the ships will have a better explanation and correct me.

Thanks Old Farts (love the name). This is where she ran into problems. Her straightener wouldn’t work where everything else would. We ended up getting a special cord from the room steward. We bought the multi adaptor but it wouldn’t fit into the outlet box.
