We've stayed in an aft suite for a partial WC (72 days). We loved the suite. The vibration did not bother us at all.

Just read on the World Cruise blog that they had a "decorate our door" contest with Australia being the theme. Everyone that wanted to, went around a voted on the best door!

So sorry to see your cruise come to an end!! Really enjoyed reading all your descriptions and, of course, your photos! But know you are anxious to get home to the two B's!!
Safe travels home!

We did hear from poss on another thread!
Here is a link to a post that gives detailed information on many ports of call in the Caribbean from a poster's TA. See post #3 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2543894
I don't believe that poss has posted since the Hurricane. I do have friends in Bradenton without power. They were told their power would probably not be restored before Sept. 22!

These photos are stunning, Wes! Love Ida's sweater! I'm assuming she bought it in Norway?

Nice! Looks a little chilly and maybe rainy! Have you adopted the "Wayne" attire of wearing shorts no matter what the temperature is?
Enjoying your posts and pics?

Enjoy your sail-away from London Tower Bridge! I know it'll be great!

Wes, internet sounds very frustrating!! Your excursion sounds very similar to the one we did! Very educational!
I went back and looked at our photo books of our cruise - it sure was a great trip. Looking forward to the rest of your cruise!

We definitely prefer to have some sea days Every third to fourth day would be great!! Our first Regent cruise was a Baltic cruise for 7 days with a port every day. Now, we talked about doing a 10 day but it had a sea day so we thought why would we want a sea day!! After that first Regent cruise, we knew we needed some sea days!!
It is sometimes difficult to find cruises with sea days. I know some people make port days "sea days" but, for us, that is hard to do unless we've been to that port before.

Hi Ann & Shel,
We have not sailed on a segment of a WC but have sailed on a couple of Grand Voyage
segments--we enjoyed our GV segments.
We were on a segment of the Voyager's Grand Voyage in 2010 (Honk Kong to Bangkok) and tho we were not part of the well bonded GCr's, Ida and I still had a terrific voyage.
The ports & excursions were exceptional (Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangkok).
And last year we were on a segment (Sydney to LA) of Sivlersea's Grand Voyage (LA to LA). We were known as being a "seggie" vs the GCr's who referred to themselves as "lalas." However, again the ports/excursions were exceptional (Fiji, Apia, Blue Lagoon in Vanuatu). And we were on board with Silversea cruise friends enjoying meals and excursions together.
Tho, as JMariner points out some may feel left out as segment cruisers, we did not. As Jennifer/forgap points out focus on Shel and you (and your 50+ years of love) and y'all will have a wonderful voyage.
Actually, Wes, the segment on the Voyager in 2010 was part of the World Cruise! That is where we met you and Ida! We were on for 60 days of it (boarded in Auckland and left in Bangkok). We loved it!!

Wes, when we were in Manila, Wayne did the Corregidor excursion and liked it a lot! I did a different excursion, could have been Old and New Manila. We almost always do excursions together but did not this time.
I'm sure you will have a great time on your cruise!!

We went during this time frame about 4 years ago from Prague to Budapest. We had snow almost everyday. Living in Texas, it was so beautiful and magical! It was also pretty cold most days - in the 20's. The hot gluhwein tasted so good!
I've heard other people say that it rained on their Christmas Market cruises. I'd much rather have snow than rain!!
Have fun!!

On the 2011 world cruise he essentially was MIA from his job (prior to that he seemed somewhat erratic in his performance). That's not the level of CD you want for an inaugural cruise.
Hmm, we were on that world cruise for 72 days. We thought Jamie did an outstanding job of being very visible and interacting with the passengers.

Still working on the blog format. I've been using one that links both to Facebook and to my personal website, but requires that you are my Facebook friend or check my website frequently, which even I don't do. If I find a free, easy to use mailing list manager to send notices when I post, I'll stick with the format I have, which is easy and friendly.
I've tried a couple of times to get next to Wordpress, but so far we're not getting along.
I will post on Cruise Critic from time to time, primarily to answer questions, but likely on the Oceania forum most of the time.
You might take a look at travelpod.com. I've used this site for my blogs. It's pretty easy to upload photos and has a mailing list that an email will go out to each time you post an entry.

We were in Christchurch on a Regent cruise nine days prior to the 2nd devastating earthquake. It was a beautiful city. The Christchurch Cathedral was having a festival of flowers so the main aisle was a carpet of flowers! Beautiful! There was considerable damage done to the Cathedral. It has probably been demolished at this point. At that time, there were signs around the town regarding the damage to the previous earthquake in September. So glad we were able to visit this beautiful city!!

We love Alla Rampa too, mostly for their incredible antipasto bar. I can eat a full meal just with their antipasti, but DH says their pasta and seafood dishes are great, too. We've eaten there for dinner several times and enjoyed it.
Another vote for Alla Rampa!!

I believe we were on this same excursion. I know as soon as we returned to the ship, many guests went immediately to Destination Services and asked for a refund! Since this was 9 years ago, perhaps it's changed for the better. But I would beware!!
