My husband and I booked this cruise a couple of weeks ago.  Looking forward to meeting everyone.

    Hey Guys,

My husband Kim (Zentah) and I are looking forward to meeting you.  I am from Arlington and lived in Houston (Montrose) for a year or so, a really long time ago!

  2. Hi Everyone! We are two guys from Atlanta and are getting excited for this two week cruise on the Eclipse. We haven't been to any of the ABC islands before so we are really looking forward to that.

We are travelling with my father and step mom, who are a total blast! We haven't been on the Eclipse yet, but have been on Solstice and Reflection for two TA's a couple years ago.

    Not too much longer!!!!!

  3. Hi Trueblue, glad you joined the forum. I was getting lonely on here. Kim (my husband) and I have been on the Summit about 3 times on this same itinerary and we love it. We are bringing our International Exchange Student Daniel, who is a High School student and on his spring break!

Looking forward to meeting you! Let me know if you have questions about the large ship.

  4. Hi David and Larry,

I'm a little jeaous of your recent TA. We absolutely love Barcelona and have a good friend of ours from Denmark living there. He showed us all the nightlife before we started our TA a couple years ago. Fun times!

We have gotten a GTR Aqua room (non specific room) which we havent done before. But we dont really care where the room is since we spend so little time in there and neither of us get seasick. Looking forward to it and meeting everyone.....About a year to go! Ugh!

  5. Hi Everyone, Kim my husband just posted and I thought I would introduce myself as well. We live in Atlanta GA and cant wait for our next TA. Kim is from Copenhagen and I am originally from Texas. We have been together 15 years and also just got married this summer! Finally...

Glad to see this boaard is already started!

  6. Hey Sam

Agreed, the Summit is very laid back and I am sure we will run into each other no doubt!

Of course we are at the Martini bar every night or Cellar Masters (dont just me!:p , but I do love my martini's)

Hope everyone's flights have no issues and we will see you guys soon!

  7. Yes, we did finally settle on a ship. We'll be on the Norwegian Epic sailing 2/23 on a Western Caribbean voyage. It's a birthday surprise for Iain.

We are also booked on the Celebrity Constellation 16 day westbound transatlantic in November 2014.

Thats a great Bday surprise! Good Job Walter! You guys have fun and let us know how it goes!

  8. My partner and I will be joining you on this cruise. We're from Boston and it's nice to know we'll be escaping the cold soon! This will be our third cruise on the Summit out of San Juan, we love sailing from there.

    Hope to meet everyone onboard.

    Hey Mr Boston,

My partner and I sailed on the Summit out of San Juan in January 2013 and loved it! Little bit older ship but still had a great time. as you probably know, the Summit from SJ has an A sailing one week and a B sailing the next......so for us its great that we are doing the opposite of whichever one we did in January...some new islands for us.

We also scored an AFT cabin in Aqua which is cool (we did the same last year)...but I doubt it will compare to Sams Penthouse Suite!

See you guys in a few weeks!

    Ted and Kim

  9. Hi Rockmartian

I'm Sam and my partner, Casey, are also going on this cruise. We love the Summit and can't wait to get aboard!

We're both engineers, and we're coming in from Houston.

    -Sam

Hi Sam, I've been following your posts on the main blog. You're full of great information...cant wait to meet you guys!

    Ted and Kim

  10. Hi boys, hope you enjoy this cruise. Iain and I are sailing the same week, but looking at other ships or cruise lines currently.

Hey Walter! Great to hear from you......have you settled on a ship yet? Have fun and hopefully we will see you on another transatlantic!!

  11. I'm jealous of all of you that are leaving earlier than we are! Kim and I are not leaving until Tuesday night from ATL thru London and finally FCO. We all have an exhausting trip ahead of us but I find that the excitement of landing in Europe makes me easily forget/ignore any jet lag I have.

Of course, a couple xanex on the flight always helps!

Have a great journey everyone and see you onboard!!!

    Ted

  12. That's because we were on the same cruise! Do you remember the gay group who drew their chairs into a circle every evening in the Martini Bar, pretty much excluding everyone else? It reminded me of settler's drawing the wagons into a circle as defense against hostile natives.

OMG Bart! I think you are going to make me go to confession before I even get to Italy! I think we were in that group. Hail Mary! We were a group that had met before the cruise on CC and established our own Facebook page as well and got to know each other before the cruise started. Forgive me father for I have sinned...

(maybe thats why I felt "stuck" as I mentioned before)

No one of that this time!

  13. I kind of like the idea of a pub crawl, maybe on one of the first few nights. It seems that on every cruise, I discover the bar I like best toward the end of the cruise. Even on the solstice class ships, it seems that all of the bars have their own personalities, depending on the sailing.

Pub Crawl sounds great, especially at the beginning of the cruise. I tend to get "stuck" in the Martini bar and think I have to go every night. It will be great to check out all the other bars with a group. Kim and i are definitely in!

  14. Just to make sure I didn't miss any requests from way back when we talked about going to Carambola Resort on St Kitts, here is the status as I have reserved with Liz so far.

Carambola is reviewed here on Tripadvisor:

    http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g147375-d2481096-Reviews-Carambola_Beach_Club-Basseterre_St_Kitts_St_Kitts_and_Nevis.html

The list of 14 people currently planning on going to Carambola as a group are:

    · Ted and Kim

    · Lee and Mike

    · Bart and Bob

    · Walter and Iain

    · Randy, Jonathan, Bonnie, Lissa, Russell

    · Craig

The cost of the ride from the port to Carambola is $10 per person CASH ONLY! This is a round trip fare to and from the resort.

Liz will meet us at 9AM after we exit the Arrivals Hall with a sign that says "PERIERA TOURS". She will be standing in front of the "Smoke n Booze" shop.

Please let me know if anyone else would like to join us and I can update Liz before we leave for Italy.

  15. On our last TA, a couple of the guys were wine drinkers. They had one of the drink packages, but didn't like the selection of wine by the glass at most of the bars. They used to go over to Cellar Masters and have the bar tender there pour them wine. They said it was not only much better wine than was available in the bars, but the glassware was superior, too. it was only a few steps to Cellar Masters from the evening gay gathering in the Martini Bar.

Thanks Bart! That's a great tip. Kim and I both got the Premium package and mostly drink wine and Martini's (lethal combination:D) but like to try all kinds of other top shelf drinks since as we see it....they are free at the time.

We will definitely drop by cellar masters for some pours.

I agree the Martini bar does get stuffy sometimes and roaming from bar to bar is kinda fun!

We tried out the Molecular bar on the Solstice in 2010, but the guy pouring took forever and talked our ears off about all kinds of things. That kinda turned us off so we never went back. We will definitely give it another try on this TA.

  16. Sorry I had'nt responded earlier about my E-Docs, but I have been in Vancouver all week and really busy with work.

Finally, the E-Documents arrived today in my email! Hard to believe it took so long, but at least we have them and I ordered the luggage tags online. Should be plenty of time to get them before we depart for Rome.

We actually started to "talk" about packing this past weekend, but havent done anything yet. Maybe thats a good project for next weekend!

Now I am sitting at an airport waiting to board for Lexington KY......Cant wait for my "Fun" Flight and a couple weeks off on vaca......

When I get home next weekend I will put together a list of people that have said they would participate in the trip to Carambola and publish it hear, along with info on finding out more about it...in case others want to join or if someone has changed their mind. I hear from Liz that we are maximum capacity with 14 on the bus she has planned, but that she can easily change the bus to something larger if we need it.

    See everyone soon!

  17. There are a couple of threads going on right now about people not receiving their eDocs. Someone was told by X that if you're using ChoiceAir, they are sent out at 30 days. They say you will receive an email, but I've yet to get an email from Celebrity. I went to My Reservations one day two weeks ago anf the eDocs were there. I then ordered luggage tags, which arrived a week ago. Right after that, my TA sent me a copy of the eDocs. Still no word from X, though. ;) Just make sure you complete your registration and print up your XPress pass, which you will need to board the ship. This appears as soon as you complete online registration. If worse comes to worse, call Captain's Club tomorrow.

Thanks Bart for the possible reason for the Edoc/Tags delay. Yes, we are using ChoiceAir so maybe thats the problem.

I did complete the online check in and printed express pass a while back, so thats really the most important, I guess. I feel better that its not just me.....all worry is now gone.

    :)

  18. Should we be concerned that we dont have our E-Docs yet? I must admit that I have been very stressed at work and might have missed the delivery of them or lost them all together. Just to clarify, do these come by email (It's and E-Doc, right?) Any advice would be appreciated.

Boys, I really need this vacation!!!!

  19. I noticed a post on the main TA cruise thread that was organizing large party for dinner at Qsine. I know several of us expressed an interest in specialty restaurant dining. Apparently a larger group in this venue makes more sense than tables of two or four. I would be willing to organize a group of us from this board on one of the sea days prior to Tenerife. Reply to this post if interested and I'll start looking into the logistics to set up a reservation.

Hi Walter, Kim and I would be interested in the tentative Group dinner at Qsine. Please put us on the list! We also have a discount if we book a restaurant after we get on board, so keep us up to date with the date and time.

Thanks and cant wait to meet everyone.....Ted and Kim
