Thank you for that. Someone had posted on social media that she was leaving for vacation, I thought she should just be getting back!

We are sailing on 4/30, Gem. Anyone have any idea who our HD will be?
Thank you. :)
-
Yes that caught my eye as well, always was HD?

Happy Birthday! How exciting for you. Enjoy your cruise. Looking forward to your review.:):)

My TA gave me a My Time letter today, but I don't know who will give us our boarding number.
The agent at the check in counter will give you your number. Be sure to ask at the pier where you are supposed to go. Do not know if you will have a special line through security check, but you will certainly have a separate check in counter for My Time after you go through security check point. Make sure you go to the right spot because sometimes if you don't really bring it to their attention they will just generally move you along with everyone else.
-
There is a special check in area for My Time that I saw on my sailing last year. It was in the back on the left. As a Plat/CAS guest they once sent me there to check in (not sure why). However, this December on the CTN I don't recall seeing it but that may just have been because it was a 2 night cruise and things could have proceeded differently.

If you're playing a hand 'blind', and the dealer is amenable to opening the cards slowly, to draw out the suspense, the enthusiastic player might spend their energy vocalizing the cards they'd like to see next.
Really....yelling near the dealer, not AT the dealer.
Sally introduced me to the game, though I think I've played it without realizing it had a name.

Too funny. I have also played this game without realizing it had a name!!

I have met Cathy in Person many many times and she is a doll.
Agree. A kind and generous person! Two thumbs up!!!:)

Yes I usually use the Downy and it does a good job. I was just so excited about my "gadget" and bought it just for cruising because it seems so much different from the ones I already owned and was never impressed with. I was looking forward to using it with the Fabreze. Never thought of the hair straightener as a tool for dewrinkling but by golly what a brilliant idea for sleeves and pants legs, or whatever!!!!

They aren't allowed. You can try to get away with it, and maybe you will. Then at that point, try not to burn the ship down.
Why on earth would I "try to get away with it"! I am merely trying to find out if others were allowed to have them because I cannot find anything in writing on NCL's website that is steamer specific. I know irons are not allowed.
-
Bought a great little travelling clothes steamer that I was hoping to bring on our cruises but after reading CC article of things not to bring on ship I am not sure if it is allowed. Really like this new gadget because you can pour fabreze into it's tank and can infuse clothes with the smell while getting wrinkles out. Since I spend a lot of time in casino, it would be nice to eliminate the smoke from my garments (don't have any issue with the actual smoke just don't like my clothes stinking). Anyone have any experience bringing one on board? Any issues? Thanks for your help.:)

I'm dancing along with you! Don't know how to Tango though, but certainly no the double digit dance! Can't wait.:):)
-
What do you think that will accomplish? Probably nothing more than an im sorry someone told you that.
Agreed. Calling corporate serves no purpose other than to get an apology or told another tall tale or whatever. The facts still remain.:)

Something on the "liver" taste. When beef if allowed to sit in a blood for a period of time it will absorb that blood. Then when it is cooked, you are actually cooking(or steaming) the blood along with the muscle which could lead to a liver taste. Actual liver is made up of more blood than say filet mignon. Also eating beef cooked more done(ex med rare to med well) often leads to a liver taste.
Sorry, It sounds kind of gross talking about blood. I just wanted to give some reasons for the taste.
Interesting. I had the filet at Modernos and it was so disappointing. A little livery, gamey, tasting. Woman I chatted with later that night had it in Teppy and she said it was the same and that she told them it was the worst filet she'd ever eaten. It really had none of that yummy beef flavor.

Had a great time with the girls on this CTN. Weather amazing. Couldn''t believe we were able to sit outside of Moderno's and have breakfast with that fabulous warm sun beating down! First time doing the Moderno breakfast buffet and must say it was quite pleasant. Two thumbs up for this.
Perhaps there were Coast Guard on ship, nothing unusual about that, but there certainly were NYPD, I walked right through a group of them in the casino and thought how odd to see NYPD! Appreciate their presence and all they do, but it did "scare" me a bit too if I am to be honest.
Amazing how in the blink of an eye you are on and off the ship. Just was way too quick for me. Guess I'm a weeklong kind of gal.

That was the exact color scheme and decor, complete with velvet, that our Deluxe Owner Suite on the Gem had. Quite the eye opener. Prefer the new muted tones they are decorating with now.:D:D
-
Congrats. Very nice upgrade deal. Enjoy your cruise.

I have sailed Breakaway 6 times and never knew about breakfast at Cagneys/Moderno (note to self - pay closer attention to the dailies). Thanks for this Skeeter.:)

Oh Yes, can't wait to see pics too!:D

Sally, it was awesome meeting you. You have such a bubbly personality! I wish I'd read this Live From while we were still on the ship, but I've only gotten to it today.
Numberguy & WhenIsTheMidnightBuffet, hi back! I don't know if I'm going to get a chance to do much of a review, but I really liked this ship.
And if you're in the Haven Restaurant for dinner.... Cold Soups! Peach the first night, and Banana Cream on night #6. :)
Stephen
.
Hey Stephen, was so happy to hear about your table win! WTG!!!!!
I loved the cold soups and was so sad when they were gone, good to see they are bringing them back. Thanks for the info.
Hope our sails cross again in the near future.:):):)

Sally this review is too funny. Love the Halloween "parade". My husband Scott and I met Steven on our Breakaway cruise a few years ago and spent many nights int he casino together, if you see him again tell him I said Hi! I can't believe you were able to walk into the wrong cabin, wow, I'm sure that couple didn't sleep too well that night either, LOL.
Glad you finally had some luck at the tables. Why did Judy not want you to talk to the supervisor, was she cranky or did she just think she was bad luck?
Hoping the weather improves for the second half of the cruise.
Can't wait to hear more about your sailing, love all of the details and your writing style.

Love this Sally. Can't wait for me.

Just wondering for married women, how is an official birth certificate of any use with the different name? And what if she has not only married, but divorced and remarried.... now 2 names away from the birth certificate name? Would you have to carry all of the marraige certificates showing the name changing from one to the other to the other?
Anyone have any experience with this?

I was able to get credit for my 1990 sailing. As was posted prior, had to send them proof we were on the ship. Sent a photo of our welcome aboard pic and credit was applied.

I have not been to the zoo, but have researched it and from what I can tell if you do go, the highlight is feedings. They do post the times of the 2 main feedings on line so if this is something you decide to do I would try to orchestrate arrival with the feedings.
