Delta does not fly between Rome and Amsterdam, so your Delta-issued ticket will likely be on a code-share operated by either KLM or Alitalia.

Yes, it is on KLM code share flight so we would go out of T1 then?

While the roadway approach to T5 is separate from that of the other terminals, T1 and T3 are immediately adjacent to each other on the same approach road.   Even if it isn't T1 (as determined by signage at the building), you can get the driver to go forward another 150 feet and be at T3.

    Thank you!

  3. We will be flying out of the Rome (FCO) airport with a layover in Amsterdam of several hours and then into Detroit.  Does anyone know what terminal we should have our transport driver drop us off at FCO?  I have heard terminal 5 and then 3.  Changes were made in 2018 so need to know since later in 2018 what terminal we should be dropped at?  Also any advice you may have getting around there.  Thanks!

  4. Also live on the Viking Sea. We flew into Bergen. It was an easy 15 minute walk from the ship to the Floyben Funicular. Amazing views from atop the mountain.

Price was 95 NOK, $12. US, return (round trip.) Significantly less money than Vikings tour.

In Geiranger, we took Geiranger Fjord Service 3 hours deluxe bus panoramic tour. Cost $63 per person. Vikings tour was $179. Small bus. We made 4 stops, including top of Mount Dalsnibba(sp?). Dress warmly. Weather was 51 and drizzling at the bottom, and 37 degrees and sleeting and high winds at the top. Again, amazing views of the fjords.

Thank you for posting your review! Could you use a credit card to pay for the funicular?

  5. They have changed all dinners in Le Grand Bistro to Le Petit Chef at 6 and 8. There will be no Le Grand Bistro dinners, They have called some people to let them know if they have Le Grand Bistro reservations, which you can cancel or switch to Le Petit Chef at the same cost ($25 pp when the actual cost for Le Petit Chef is $55). A good deal, if you are interested in trying it.

If they haven’t called you, you might want to give them a call.

We just received the call today too. Nice if you want to try it for $25. each instead of $55. if you were already booked. They told us the times are 6:30 pm or 8:30 pm. It sounds like they take you in only at those times each night.

  6. It is very possible to sail on Viking and not spend any more on board then gratuities. You may find this list of stateroom amenities to be helpful.

Self-serve laundry is free and detergent is provided. Laundry and dry cleaning service is by the piece (no "fill the bag" specials).

Specialty restaurants are included and you may dine there as many nights as you can make reservations for once you board the ship. (Advanced reservations as per the link above for all categories except Veranda)

OOPS. Sorry to repeat info. It was posted while I was typing.

Mini-bar is replenished gratis daily in all categories except Veranda (and includes spirits in all categories except DV and V). Daily stocking is 6 cans of soda and two candy bars. Also note that Viking does not forbid bringing your own favorite tipple on board (spirits or soft drinks). There is no corkage fee on board if you wish to enjoy a BYO bottle with dinner.

Specialty coffees and hot chocolate are free, even at the bars. House wine, beer and soft drinks are included with lunch and dinner.

Internet is free and unlimited and the entire ship is wired for wi-fi.

Thanks so much for your answer! Sounds great!

  7. Hello rjscott. Thanks for your review! We are considering a Viking Ocean Cruise. Could you please tell me what the costs are for laundry, specialty restaurants and if you used the mini-bar and cost of items of that too? We are making a budget and trying to decide any extra costs on board. Any other fees that we should know about? We do know gratuities are an additional fee as well as optional tours.

  8. Were you told before your cruise in your cruise documents that you were staying at the Holiday Inn? Wondering why you were booked there when usually they use the Prague Hilton?

We expect there will be lots of walking and we are fine with that as we like to walk(we are lucky we can!). How did they decide which group to put you in as I have heard they assign people different groups?

Were you happy with the Viking trip overall? We leave next week.

  9. We were also booked on the Feb 10, 2018 Summit. Our travel agent sent us the notice from Celebrity yesterday with options for either Equinox on certain dates or Summit at other sailings in Nov or April. They will keep the same price and perks plus Celebrity will add an additional $200. OBC.

We really liked Summit and it's itinerary better, but we are going ahead with trying Equinox as we can get the same date.

Good luck! On our letter it said you only have until Aug 11th to accept the change with the same price and perks.

  10. Thank you all for your hotel info. We are on an Oct Prague to Paris Tour. I was told we would probably be at the Prague Hilton, but sometimes they book at other hotels. Wanted to book an extra precruise night at same hotel, but don't know which hotel yet. I can see from your responses that it can vary.
