  1. I've been to Cozumel several times in March 2014 was my 1st time on the Eastside. It was part of a Private Jeep Tour. Best beach every...loved the waves. I would like to go back but not sure where to go and what they offer...Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Do you have the contact information for the Private company you used?

The Jeep tour was awesome! We had Frank as our guide; he was so nice and courteous. He let us go at our pace and treated us to a spectacular lunch with a beach view that was incredible. We loved it and was worth every penny and more. If you book it, tell Frank that Dennis and Penni from Atlanta said "hi".

Let me know if you have any other questions

  3. Thanks for the reply! What is a power area? Did you eat at any of the resturants? Anything I should know before I go?

It was fun. We shared a taxi with another couple who just happened to be going to the same place and they charged us $3 per person. Coming back to the ship, a lady from the resort gave us a ride and I think she said $10 (we paid $15). It seemed completely safe. They have the power area pretty secured. They had gates and only let in a few taxis at a time. My only complaint would be that it took the last forever to check us in. Just charge my card and point me to the beach!
  4. If you're asking how much the fare is from Montego Bay Cruise terminal to Dr. Cave Beach it's $5 per person each way. (red plated taxi)

BlondieB - about how much was taxi fare to and from Montego Bay? We are there early April and this is looking like a relatively inexpensive way to spend the day.

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

  5. Can you please tell me where you caught the taxi to go Dr. Cave? Did you feel safe? (The last time we were in Ocho Rios I vowed to not get off the ship again. I'm hoping Montego Bay is different.)

    Thanks.

Yes, just as you exit the port shopping area. Remember to take the red plated taxi (van;buses); The fares are regulated. Beware once you get on the bus they will try to persuade you to go elsewhere. Dr. Cave beach is a private beach; we felt very save.

  6. I have a one sided suggestion:

Cave Tubing in Belize is hands down the best ever.

We are cruising to Belize and Isla Roatan, and we want to zipline and tube through caves. What would you recommend for which island?

We ziplined in St. Kitts and loved it.

    Please offer your suggestions.

    Thanks

  7. I'm during this excursion in November. Did they pick you up at the ship or did you have to tender to the meet the group?

When we were in Belize we did the high speed boat tour up the river, to the land rovers, and took those off road, to the caves to explore the bat caves. It was alot of fun and we got to see the gorgeous countryside and talk to the locals, then took a bus back to the ship. It was a Carnival excursion and one that we would probably do again. Just an idea, there isn't much walking though the land rover part is pretty bumpy.

Don't know about the Rum, we are going to Jamaica and will be able to hit the Appleton Rum Estate, but I don't know where in Belize to get some.

  8. Two different company; both with great reviews. cavetubing dot com or cavetubing dot bz

We will be there at the end of the year on the Celebrity Equinox. Where did yo u find information on cave tubing.
  9. Thanks so much for the information.

We just got off the Dream last week, and did the royal dolphin swim. We did not book through Carnival, and used the "ecommerce" trick. It worked no problems, nobody there cares how you arrive, they pretty much assumed we were all off the Dream as we were the only ship in port that day.
