I’m looking for an Alaskan cruise. Preferably one that sails out of Seattle. I’m looking for different ports than the average usual ones. I’d like to try something different. Anybody have any suggestions?

With flights as screwy as they are these days it seems safer to arrive a day early rather than risk missing the ship. Is there a good place to stay in Tampa? Do any of the hotels offer transportation to this ship?

Any opinions? From reading the reviews it sounds like deck 10 can get pretty noisy from the deck above. Some people rave about the aft facing and others didnt prefer the engine noise and the view of the wake. Whats most important to me is a larger deck,  I appreciate your thoughts.

I am looking for an older, more classic style ship. No roller coasters, golf courses or race tracks on top. Do they even exist anymore? I used to work on the Emerald Seas as a purser. She was a classic.

What are your thoughts? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I found Celebrity to be quite reasonably priced for the upgrades than some of the others.

I picked Celebrity because of the ship size. I had a reserve. on NCL but the mega ship thing turned me off. That and stories of 2 hour waits in the dining room.

Its unfortunate that there isnt a serious discussion about Celebrity's move to segregation of dining and other venues.

It's not just Celebrity. Alot if not most of the lines do it. Personally I prefer it. I like being able to pay a little more for a unique experience. If we were all sailing coach I wouldn't bother cruising. That's how I shop my cruises. The best deal for the most upgrades.

I like a better cabin. That's just me. My grandmother used to take us on cruises all the time. We always had an inside cabin and went budget class. She said we were never in the cabin so why upgrade. That worked great!

But as an adult I have realized that I personally would rather sail less often to afford a higher class of accommodations.

That's just how I roll.

How do you get the price adjustments without losing your selected cabin?
