Not a bad idea. I would also like to see the Yacht Club get it's own forum. People's thoughts and reviews of the YC often differ greatly than those of the rest of the ship.
I wholeheartedly agree. Why take up the time of others looking for info. It should be a sub-category.
-
So what do you do just slap a buck down when you order? Or do the tips get charged to the cabin.
-
Thanks for the reply! We are booked on 3 March. You will be experts on the MSC Seaside Yacht Club layout by then!
So you will be sailing soon! Can you please let mw know if Yacht Club passengers are able to eat in other dining areas? Most specifically the main buffet? I know the hubby will like to explore the whole ship whil I am contenet to sit in my yacht club recliner and get some rays.

Thanks again every body! I wish their was a like button lol. Happy cruising!!

What was your first cruise ship? What cruise line, the year and the itinerary? (if you remember;) ) Did it get you hooked?
Ours was Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's m/s Viking Serenade, a converted car ferry, back in NOV 1991, a 3-day L.A. - Catalina Island - Esenada, Mexico - L.A. cruise. Never forget our first impressions - we were hooked from that day on!
Viking Serenade (still sailing today as Island Escape)
That was my first ship as well only it was still the Stardancer, Admiral Cruise Lines. Loved it so much I got a job with them as a purser on the Emerald Seas.
-
I would love to see them trade Jamaica and Nassau for something else.
-
On a ship with 5000+ plus pax, trust me you will truly appreciate the opportunity to escape! This coming from another former cruise ship purser and many time cruiser.
Mind you I wouldn’t hesitate to sail on Seaside in a standard non-YC cabin, but if your budget permits then go for it. Totally different experience and best of both worlds so to speak in the YC.
What a coincidence! I went ahead and pulled the trigger. There are only 2 left on my voyage and now one of them is mine!!!
Thanks everyone!

I find the idea of quiter, less "cruisey" areas very appealing. As a former ship purser and many time cruiser I am kind of over the typical cruising experience. Know what I mean?

This is a balcony cabin with an outdoor jacuzzi and the room is huge. I've already reserved it and there are none left for my sail date of 5/18/19.
Im concerned I may regret no going with YC as it doesnt cost much more.
But this cabin!!!

Perception. Especially with cleaning staff and maybe the 15 hour 7 day week?

Those hours are standard. I was a purser in my 20's. We had 1 day a month off, it was always the private island day. Thats just the way it is.

I'm torn about MSC. I love my Seaside Aurea Jacuzzi balcony suite but dont want to feel neglected for not upgrading to YC.
-
How about the Aurea package with a spa suite? How does it compare to NCL?I have to give up that balcony and Jacuzzi even for the YC.
-
Thanks everyone I got the sJ3 spa suite and can hardly wait!!

I doubt they are sold out. I am looking at a May 2019 cruise. I checked with some other site and there are plenty to chose from. I don't get it.
-
Thank you for the info! I wonder why the cruise line will only give me a choice on deck 9.
-
It looks like the only suites that are available are on deck 9. Whereas the balcony cabins are more varied. Best place for a balcony? Any tricks or things to look out for? I just started looking around but I think this is the ship for me. Going to the Carribbean in May 2019 so I have plenty of time to browse.
-
That was exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

Hi! I am planning on taking my husband on a cruise for his birthday in May 2019. I have a lovely aft cabin reserved on NCL's breakaway but was looking for something maybe smaller and not such a super ship. The equinox has a Caribbean sailing around the same time and I am thinking of switching it out. Can anyone offer any advice about this line? It seems simpler and quieter and more understated which is what we are looking for. Much appreciation in advance.

Thanks everyone!!!
-
Thank you so much for the photo! I see many reviews of this cabin and the aft deck 12 but cant seem to locate any cabin photos. Does anybody have anymore? I hope you all had a great time and I cant wait to go in May 2019!!!!

Hello everybody! Thanks so much for posting your thoughts!! I just booked 8132 for May 2019 and was hoping I had made the right decision about the larger balcony. It sounds like I did!! Does anyone have any balcony and view photos?
-
I appreciate your input. I'm looking forward to a much deserved getaway!

There she is!
There's my ship!
I have that pen too, the one with the ship that moves.
Boy do those photos bring back memories.
Imagine working on a cruise ship in your 20's in the Bahamas.
