We are in cabin 1598 on the explorer and I noticed that it is under the pool deck and not far from the whirlpool. If you have been in this cabin, did you hear the hum from the motor of the whirlpool? We will be cruising in Alaska and I know the whirlpools will be in use.

Is there a drape/door between the bedroom and living room?

New to Regent but not new to cruising. Looking at the pics it's difficult to see if the sofa is a loveseat or full size in the Mariner Suite. Does anyone know the answer? Thank you in advance.

My husband and I are thinking of booking the above owners on the Explorer. It is near the elevator. Has anyone heard the "ding" sound of the elevator. Thank you in advance.

I am just off the Zuiderdam and thought the ship was in need of updates. We were in a suite that was dark,dirty,deteriorated carpets and wood floors with a lot of physical problems in the cabin. This was our first time on HAL and our last. We are seasoned cruisers with 51 cruises and this was the worst suite we've been in.Never again. HAL should be ashamed of themselves to let a suite get so shabby.

I hope there is a recent Z. cruiser who knows for certain that there are foam eggcrates available for the bed. I know people say that the beds are comfortable but I would still like to know if the ship has eggcrates on board. We will be leaving in a few days and would appreciate a quick response. We will be docking in Zeegrugge from 9-7pm in May. We have already been to Brugge which was wonderful but are thinking of going to Brussels on this trip. Other than the train, does anyone have the name of a driver for this day trip? Thank you in advance.

My husband and I were on the Riviera in Dec.2013 and also found the guest relations young woman to be rude, disinterested and difficult.We have cruised 48 times and we cancelled our 2 booked Oceania cruises.We were in an Oceania suite that had problems and prefer to spend our money elsewhere.

My husband and I went on the Riviera to see if we liked O.This was our 48th cruise.We are in our mid 60's and in good shape.

The food is superb- ambience wonderful-waitstaff and cabin staff excellent.

Problem-The attitude of staff/officers from the general manager to guest relations to the concierge.

My husband had an accident boarding a tender in St.Barts with rough seas.The tender was not taut to the platform and there was NO ONE from O on the tender to help with boarding. His leg went between the platform and the tender as the tender pulled away from the platform. The tender came back to hit him in the leg.He was in the medical center 2x for the injury.

Unfortunately what bothers us the most was the lack of follow up by anyone other than our butler who asked each day how my husband was doing.

When finally being able to speak to the gm after many attempts he was condescending,indifferent,uncaring and really could have cared less. He said there was no report on the accident and he just heard of it when we mentioned it to guest relations.That is difficult to believe since most lines have a staff meeting each day to discuss problems.

There seems to be a lack of concern for passenger safety.

I'm truly amazed at the attitude of staff on this ship and very disappointed that O doesn't put the passenger first.

Thank you for the info. Here are the 2 tours-RCI cruise

1.Alesund-7hrs.scenic drive down Troll. Mt-drive along Storfjarden Mt. stop Stordal Church-go to Valladal and pass the gorge-cross Stigfoss Waterfall-pass by Andalsnes and see Troll wall-11 bends

2.Molde-8hrs.Board ferry to Vestnes-drive along fijord to Valldal and Stordal to Trol. Mt.11 bends-drive to Afarnes for ferry crossing.(not a lot of info)

I know both will be beautiful but we don't want to do 2 long tours back to back.

We were in beautiful Alesund last year and this year we were thinking of taking Path of the Trolls tour.Our next port is Molde where there is a tour around Troll. Mountain.

Are these 2 tours similar? If not, do you suggest one over the other? Both tours are full day. Thank you in advance.
