  1. Can't guarantee the vodka supply as I am a Tito's man through and through!

I have also cruised Viking Ocean and found them fine but a bit sedate. Seabourn is really a great line and I have been on three different ships with them.  I cruise for the ports and scenery and spa time in the afternoon. I don't cruise for the food although I do like good food I haven't done any of the large ship "exclusive" areas, although they do look tempting! I think 1250 is a perfect amount of guest capacity, and my sailing is booked all but a couple of insides and one Vista suite!

    Cheers

  2. Thanks for that!

It sounds like you are well positioned for a great vacation!!

I am booked on my first O cruise on Riviera September 26th 2 weeks.

As a more recent Seabourn cruiser, I am interested in O as an alternative.........

I'm just a bit too old (66) to stay with the "biggies" like HAL and Princess.  Ships are waaaay to large for my taste!

    Enjoy that Vista Suite!

Had a Guarantee PH3. I leveraged the Four Category upgrade and the Extraordinary Sale.  Listen to the advice here on this stream.  Had my travel agent call for an guest paid upgrade.  Long, long story short, with a comedy of errors, I paid for an upgrade to a Vista Suite.  I will not disclose the amount however I am thrilled.  Thank everyone for their advice and help. My suite will be party central for my guest (In a Penthouse) and myself. Again, thank you to all the advice given.

    Gary,

Did they come around after all and offer the first price that got you all excited? Enquiring minds want to know how this went down!!   So happy you got the upgrade you wanted!!

@cruiserchuck Yep, it was nice having it for 30 seconds though.  The Upgrade Fairy disappeared.  Oh well, still happy with everything.

Cruise well and enjoy every moment.

Sorry they teased you like that.  However it makes no sense that they would sell you a really discounted upgrade out of your guarantee booking.  When YOU call them and make that offer, they know you want it, and therefore will charge you the "going"rate. There is just no reason to give it away at this point in the game.  Usually the deals originate on their end as they review the sailing and see what makes financial sense for them.  No need to worry that your guarantee wont be fulfilled when they finalize the sailing.  At that point they will either keep you in your category or push you up to sell a cheaper fare to someone else.

Enjoy your cruise.  I know you will..............

  5. Mitch,

I would highly doubt that there is a free mens/womens wet sauna/steam area on this ship.  Princess (and most others) have been going away from the old model of cruise ship spa design and only going with the paid co-ed area on the newer ships.

You might find a deck plan on their website you cold look at to see what the layout is.

    Happy Hunting my Friend!!

    Viking's spa is wonderful.

I agree! So much that I spent a few hours there every day of my cruise!

Loved the separate facilities for men and women and the community area in between was very enjoyable as well! And The Spinner to dry out trunks was great!

Heading out on Riviera Sept 26th for my first O cruise and very much looking forward to that!

    Cheers

    O class  = Marina & Riviera

Allura class = Vista  & new ship coming in 2025

On Vista  it is unclear if the showers /hot loungers/ steam or sauna  is open to all  or not

from the photos it looks like you will need a pass key  to get  into the area

Could you post a link to the photos please????

Anyone recently on the Crown Princess know if there are still separate facilities? I see the spreadsheet says there is, but not sure how recently that was updated. Sailing on her (and Princess) for the first time in a few weeks!

The deck plan still shows that there are two areas on deck 16 (men+women) but the site has a disclaimer that the plans are subject to change..............I would call and verify as Princess has been pulling them out left, right, and center!!  😞

I cruised oceania in September and most recently this past April and two other times prior. Every single time the staff is awesome. The quality of the food is definitely a step up, and the clientele is a little bit older and relatively quieter than lines like Royal Caribbean etc. I appreciate being able to sleep at night without drunken ruckus in the hallway, and the ratio of cruisers that know not to let their door slam shut compared to the inconsiderate folks who do, is much better on Oceania. It's even in the newsletter on the first day, don't let your door slam!  You'll have a great time!

Thanks for that.  Most recently I have been cruising Seabourn so I am quite familiar with this type of cruising/passengers/food etc..........My first cruise was in the Caribbean on the Carla Costa in 1982 maybe?  Done most of the mainstream lines but find the small ships so much more enjoyable so long as they have the "correct" spa facilities on board!!

Understood. Odd set-up, but as long as the door to the sauna down the hall read’s “Men” on it, that should maintain privacy, lol.

Feel-free to message me directly at Steamcruiser at gmail, twodjs.

The door does say "MENS SAUNA" but as soon as you open it you are looking straight into the sauna thru it's glass doors!!  So there's that......................

Right now I have three scheduled.

5/27/23-6/16/23 Sojourn Riviera Romance and Tyrrhenian Treasures. 20 nights. This is a combination cruise. Not sure what the segments are.

8/6/23-8/20/23 Encore. Treasures of the Holy Land. Two 7 days back to back. showing sold out, but both 7 day segments seem to be available.

10/11/23-11/5/23 Encore Mediterranean Intrigue 25 nights. This one is several combined also.

It’s a lot, but our passion was travel, and so it goes.

    Thanks for the quick response!!

Those sound fantastic................I will have a look at those and the segments comprising them.  I am still working and can't really be away for more than 2 weeks +/- a couple of days.  I was looking at the 12 day Dover R/T on Ovation in late April............Great itinerary and easy access from LHR. My birthday celebration on board  too! Single supplement is only 1.5 on that as well..............

Again,  thanks for your time and feel free to email me......... smacofsky2@gmail.com

I have several more Seabourn cruises scheduled this year.

Hello.  Sorry you have lost your partner...............

I am an avid Seabourn cruiser and I am looking at solo cruises for myself this year as my partner does not/will not travel...................

Can you list the trips you have booked for this year? That would help me decide what to book for myself this coming year.  It would be nice to have some "like minded" people to socialize with on board.

2 weeks is still too early for a guarantee assignment.

But maybe you should have said it the way you just did in response to me, instead of the declarative statement above..........?  Just saying................

PS: I am on Koningsdam next week as a solo for the first time out of 24 or so cruises...........Any tips for solo cruising on HAL?
