  1. Wow that's a great offer.

I just got on for getting 50 percent back plus another 200 and a specialty dinner.

    this is for Majestic

I did take offer I figure I had 2 balconies booked and we will still have one.

It would have been hard to not give back both balconies with a 100 percent back....WOW

  2. Just got a move over offer for our California coastal cruise next week. If we don't cruise they will refund our money and give us a free cruise in six months. We refused it. It was tempting. But we need the vacation. Not everything is about money. Just wondering how they make any money on that?

Wow that's pretty good! But I would not take that offer either. Always so need that vacation plus airfare, time off work etc.

For me I watched the price just go up and up. My airfare is well over double what I paid.

They probably contact cheaper bookings to moveover 1st to reduce their payout.

  3. Hi,

I am about to take my 1st Princess cruise on the Majestic in April.

I have 2 balcony cabins booked.

I received a Moveover offer. If I downgrade to an inside cabin they will refund 50 percent of fare. Plus another 200 OBC plus a specialty dinner. All of this will be OBC and refunded by check in mail if not used.

So I took it which gives us over $1600 OBC. I was able to get the inside pretty much across hall.

I was excited to finally have side by side balconies.....but hey we still have one :-)

They also split the money up evenly per person so pretty much this paid for our shore excursions. We still keep beverage package.

So I'm wondering is inside cabin that much smaller than regular balcony cabin?

And was this a no brainer move or am I missing something?

    Thanks

    Kerri

  4. I am interested in knowing this as well. Especially about paying the difference.

    Are bartenders very strict?

I have the free beverage package on upcoming Majestic.

On NCL it is up to $15 and my double drinks came to 22 somehow and they went thru. But my husband wasn't drinking and he had package so maybe they wrung up as 2 orders.

    Thanks

  5. Thanks for posting. I have cruised Carnival, Royal, NCL and Disney. We are trying Princess for the 1st time on the Majestic. Not sure if this is a good start with Princess......I am certainly nervous about a new ship and any kinks that need to be worked out.

But I have never had a bad cruise. If I have smoothish seas, decent weather and I make it back for my return flight....I am sure this cruise will be amazing as well.

I also think the buffet situation on DCL is terrible. Shows are great....atmosphere is Disneyhappy. But I will not pay DCL prices to sail consistently. I am a DVC member and love WDW but hey...lots of other lines for similar experience (except characters) for WAY cheaper.

    Thanks

  6. If these last few photos were taken recently it sure seems there's lots of work remaining to get her ready for passengers in the time remaining. Is there any reason to believe she won't be ready for the first voyage with passengers in about 4 weeks?

We are sure looking forward to sailing on her.

I am also wondering this. I am on the 4/9 sailing and I never sailed such a new ship. I am excited and nervous!!

  7. I recently received this promotion as well for my upcoming summer vacation.

Love this place I came here to find out if this is common. Happy to see all is well.

Jany has been very prompt will all of my multiple questions and patient:-)

We are doing a airport transfer to hotel in citavechia with a shortened etruscan tour along the way. So far like I said very prompt responses to all inquiries.

    I will be prepaying

    Happy planning

  8. Well, we are going to find out for ourselves! We have been loyal Disney fans every year as well as Wyndham Resorts owners. We have stayed at beautiful properties and spent $$$$$ at the mouse. Last December after a trip to Atlantis, our girls (12 and 14) want to see the world. We just booked a suite with large balcony on the NCL Getaway this December. I can't believe how affordable it is to cruise. Even with all the extra's and shore excursions, it is a lot less than a full blown Disney trip! This site have been awesome, it reminds me a lot of Dis boards. Happy to be here.

    Paul

Hi, Paul I am a fellow "Dis'er" I found these boards through the Dis years ago. I agree it is a great place with so many helpful posters here.

We started our family vacations at WDW and immediately bought DVC. Which for years went to WDW only. Then we started adding on short cruises after a WDW trip. We were hooked. And funny WDW is soooo expensive and makes any other vacation seem reasonable:D

So we started expanding our cruising to Europe last 2 summers. This summer we are finally going to Aulani and 1st Disneyland trip with a NCL cruise around the islands:)

We did a land/Sea tour on NCL Epic. 1 week land tour Italy then 1 week Med cruise. Reasonable and AMAZING!!

I love cruising because the Ocean is so peaceful and memorizing. (I try and cruise "non stormy" times:rolleyes:). I get to see so many places and get an idea where I want to go back.

I love the variety of dining options. Different shows and activities. But it amazes me every time how much of "nothing" I do. Just chilling enjoying the amazing scenery.

  9. All of these questions are discussed here frequently.

The Lanai Snorkel would be out of Lahaina, correct? That is a 45 minute, minimum, drive from your ship. You could do a Turtle City snorkel on Maui which is much closer.

When you tender into Kona, you will be right in town.

The pretty obvious first choice for helicopter would be either of your Big Island stops, for the chance to see lava flowing. Both Kauai and Maui have good copter rides, but lava always seems to take priority for some unknown reason.

Thanks. I don't think it is Lahaina. It is a boat ride and snorkel. Seems to be a nice double decker boat.

Good to know Kona is a port with town right there. Would like maybe an easy day.

I probably only have 1 helicopter ride in my life, I might have to wait for Alaska. I see you do a lot of travel. Have you done a helicopter tour in Alaska if so would you say it is more of a must do than Hawaii?

    thanks

    Kerri

  10. Hi,

Which island on POA is best for snorkeling. Was looking at Lanai Snorkel and Sail in Maui and Big Island Snorkel in Kona.

Which island best to just go to a beach nearish port.

Do any of these islands have a town right at port?

Also If I do a helicopter which island.

Was also thinking of doing the sunset crater tour.

    Thanks

    Kerri

  11. If the tour info says you'll be dropped at the airport at noon, then you should have plenty of time to check in for a 3 pm flight. In HNL you do have to go through an agriculture screening which takes a little extra time, and it seems we had to take a shuttle bus to another terminal for the actual flight if I recall.

Generally, the tours which involve airport drop off will include some sort of statement "For those with flights scheduled for xPM or later". You might call the 800 number for excursions and ask if you don't see this is the tour info.

As far as what your "Premium Economy" seat gets you, you'd have to ask your airline. For general airport check in, agriculture, luggage check, security, it's the same for everyone, it won't get you any advantage. Depending on how your airline handles boarding, it may give you some small advantage at the gate, but you'd have to ask them about it.

I guess I will have to call. But they usually just read what online.

Thing is they don't SAY when you get to airport.

It says depart at 8 and tour is 4 hours(approx.) always says that I think.

So that puts at airport at noon.

I read the reviews and 1st one says at airport by noon. Another review says by 1. So I don't know if that was a typo.

On Hawaiin airline site it says Economy Comfort has priority check in but that is probably just boarding which doesn't concern me.

    Thanks for the response :-)

    Kerri

  12. Thanks for your review. I am sooo looking forward to my 1st trip to Hawaii.

We are also flying from NY. We are stopping At Disneyland on way for 3 nights so flight home will be the LONG one!

I booked Economy Comfort seats. Did you notice these seats, did it appear more roomy? Also did you notice if separate line for checkin.

Also How much time before flight would you say is enough time. Is 2/12 to 3 hrs plenty?

Johnny Cabs sounds good. I will need a taxi from Airport to Aulani and then from Aulani to Marriot hotel in Waikiki.

Do you think they might make a quick stop at grocery for like 15 minutes on way to Aulani?

    Thanks

    Kerri

  13. Hi,

I posted this on NCL board but realized this might be better spot.

I just saw a 4 hour Pearl Harbor tour that drops at airport.

It leaves ship at 8 am. Other longer tours say what time flights must be after. This doesn't but if leaves at 8 and is a 4 hour tour....I'm thinking I get to airport 12 ish.

I have a 3pm flight on Hawaiin Airlines to NY. I have a Economy Comfort seat.

Is this a shorter check in line.

If I arrive at noonish to airport is this PLENTY of time to check in maybe grab a sandwich for plane for my 3pm flight.

Has anyone done this excursion. It really works perfect for me if it works because I wont have to use any of my Aulani time and my 1 night in Waikiki before cruise, to visit Pearl Harbor.

    Thanks

    Kerri

  14. Hi,

I have a 3pm Hawaiin airlines flight on disembarkation day.

Their is a 4 hour excursion that leaves at 8am that goes to Pearl Harbor

Arizona only that then goes to Airport.

Should arrive 12ish. Is this plenty of time to leave at HNL airport.

I have a Premium Economy seat. Does this have a quicker line at airport?

Hoping for some feedback because this would work out great so I don't have to take any time from my stay at Aulani to go to Pearl Harbor.

    Thanks

    Kerri
