If you think it's too expensive, don't buy it. 😃
No one needs bottled water. The tap water on Carnival is perfectly safe, and in my opinion, fine to drink.
Agree. I've never bought a bottle of water in my life.

When I sailed on Valentines Day the ladies were given a single rose in the MDR.
No celebrations but I think they moved the Love and Marriage Show to that night.

The removal of casino bars and all video slots in the casino has dampened my excitement about going on any one of them.
Booked on Venezia for 2024 since it's only an hour drive to port and I do like leaving from NY.
I will have to find something else to do on the ship this time......LOL

Thanks Jeff and Patti for another great review with pics.
Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy!
Looking forward to Venezia in 2024!

A casino host on Pride once told me that people are rated by the amount of TIME they spend in the casino, not necessarily the amount of $$$ at one time.
I have spent entire sea days in the casino but once they switched to all those video slots, I have no interest in playing anymore.

I am not fighting against anything. Other people removing their gratuities because they are a cheap arse is none of my business. If gratuities become mandatory then like I said, they are no longer gratuities. The incentive to provide better service is no longer there. The chance the they could be removed might just keep some of the stewards etc on their toes. And then there would be a new expectation to provide gratuities once again. The current system has worked for many years. I like it exactly the way it is. I hit the prepay box, pay it by final payment, and am done.
Yes.
It's no concern of mine on how they split them and who gets what and if I want to tip extra to those that I've had direct contact with, I do so.(Dining staff, cabin stewards, bar service, etc)

off topic but Norwegian has the best carpet with the fishes on the carpet, the fish that is facing forward points to the forward end of the ship. very useful
That was probably the only good thing about Norwegian (LOL).

Following right along.
Some of my favorite ports this time of year!
I thought about doing this trip but other "stuff" got in the way.
ENJOY!

Too funny!
I was in the hospital for 9 days in July and my TV remote was stuck on Hallmark Channel ( Christmas in July.). Not a fan!
I woke up after anesthesia and thought I died and went to HELL..

Easiest port ever.
$15 a day Credit card only. No more cash lines.
Park and walk right on the ship.

Thanks again, Jeff.
I was always hooked on your reviews of sailings/ships from NY as far back as Splendor in 2014 (my first Carnival experience).
Hoping to be onboard Venezia over the winter!

Considering you can charge up to $5000 a day to your S&S and that daily number is increased when there it is a Premier/Elite/Ultra, you can bet people are spending more than $100 a day
Amen! LOL

I don't like that the bars have been taken out of the casinos. (It was always a big meeting place for me)
I'm also not happy that most of the old slot machines have been replaced with those video "things."

and if you don't complete a cruise on MSC within 3 years, they boot you from the program. every 3 years.
Fine for me. No desire to cruise them again. Had a good time but once was enough!

It was nice to sail for the first(and only) time on MSC and use my Diamond Plus status from RCL to get some good perks.

None of my DOU casino offers have included a companion whether it's DOU in casino or everywhere on board.
OK for me since most of my cruises are solo anyway.

Probably not. I've never cruised where elegant night is the night before going home.

Wow! Love sea days.

I'd go back on Explorer in a minute.

There are zero ports in Canada where the Casino can open. I know this for a fact.
Yes. Didn't realize they were talking about overnight. (LOL)

You're incorrect. The casino will be closed when docked in St John.
It never was. Is this new?
How much lead time would you want if invited to a cruise wedding?

I got a verbal SAVE THE DATE for a cruise wedding exactly a year ahead of time. Nice to have that time frame to decide/plan to go.
Six months later the couple called it off and parted ways.
I must have had a sixth sense about it and never did book when I got the save the date.
