Correct.
Thank you!

We always regardless of holiday or not bring extra dollars $5 and $10 to tip throughout the week and ar the end for special service. We have in past brought gifts but I think money is probably better appreciated as we don't know what they need.or want.
If I find a good bartender or waiter I tip along the way and a bit extra at the end of the week.
Cabin steward I start the week with an extra $10 or so and end with an extra $20. Maybe tip along the way for fresh ice etc.

Sailing soon. Is there still shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower and is there now liquid hand soap in the sink instead of a bar of soap?

The mdr was not open on the koningsdam on November 12 and 19/22. I physically went down and checked on November 12 and it was definitely closed. Both cruises were jammed to the rafters so it was surprising. I don’t enjoy the lido either.
Oh ugh that's a bummer. We usually enjoy a more relaxed lunch in the MDR.

Dining room lunch should be available, it was on my last cruise on the Eurodam. A great option on the koningsdam is the Dutch cafe, my husband and I love the food there.
Both New York Pizza and the Dive In should be open on embarkation day too.Thank you!

We generally lunch in the MDR on embarkation day. Is that still available? On the Koningsdam December 10th. Assigned boarding time is 11:50am. What options. We are not big lido aka buffet fans.
Thank.

I'm on the December 10th Koningsdam sailing and don't have the info yet. The boarding pass is now showing on the Navigator app but time is to be assigned. When I try to print my boarding pass it also shows the same thing.

Wow, I did not know there was such a spread put out for Late Snack! Some of those sound better than dinner!
Great info. I had no idea it was so extensive. What are the usual hours for the late buffet?

Thanks. Thinking we will upgrade when we get on board

Ok thank you so much for the info!

I'm lead to believe that we can upgrade our beverage package once we board (with recommendation to do so immediately before you order anything). I got the Signature beverage package as part of the HIA promo. If I want to upgrade to the Elite package - does anyone know what we will be charged per day?
thanks.

I’ll have to switch over to my laptop to do that. Will get back in a while.
Hey I just looked in a different place and found what you are talking about. When we booked the non alcoholic drinks were not included in the 15. Can I upgrade to the Elite which excludes the non alcoholic drinks? I think I booked under the HIA promo. Should I call m6 TA or HaL or ? This socks as I am a big drinker of San Pelligrino or Perrier and love specialty teas and coffees so will easily exceed 15 with some cocktails and wine

Yes, it’s changed. 15 drinks total. Not unlimited non alcoholic drinks. It’s on HAL site.
I checked the FAQ on HAL and did not see that. Can you please post the link?

Has something changed? It is still 15 alcoholic beverages and unlimited non alcoholic beverages correct?

This is one of the things that I forgot to mention in my recent review of The Discovery princess. I did like how convenient it was to watch the video in the cabin and then just report to your muster station where they could check you in. It was very easy.

I was on the Discovery princess in mid September Seattle to vancouver. I am a Wine Drinker and I found the selection extremely disappointing so much so that I would be hesitant to take another Princess Cruise. I have taken one other Cruise during the pandemic on Holland America and I found their wine to be acceptable. I mainly prefer white wines and prefer sauvignon blanc which they only had a Chilean wine which sometimes is okay but theirs was just really mediocre to less than mediocre. I'm not a Chardonnay fan. We did try some red wines and there were a couple that were decent but some that were not. Overall I was very disappointed. When I asked about the premium wine selection as I was certainly willing to pay the upgrade difference I was told they were pretty much out of everything that they had on the list. I don't know if this was because it was the end of the Alaskan season and so the ship was repositioning to Los Angeles to do the Mexican riviera. Not sure but I was very disappointed.

Terrible. I asked for the wine list at dinner and it was generic. I would not go on this ship expect it in great wine choices under the package. In fact Evin fact even trying to upgrade to the premium wines was a joke because they didn't have them. It was really truly terrible. When above. Would make me not cruise on princess again

Thank you for your review. I was curious about the Crown Grill and why it was a bad experience. I went in May on same ship and had 2 amazing dinners there.
Glad you enjoyed your meals.there. our waitress was totally overwhelmed and the service was bad. The food was just so so and imo not better than the main dining room

Got off the ship in San Diego and walked to Little Italy and went to the Princess Pub where there serve pub food and good cod fish and chips. Then headed back on board and I’m going to take a nap now that my belly is full of fish & chips and a pint of Guinness
The Clipper Ship is the Star of India and it looks dwarfed next the the Discovery.
Walking to Little Italy is easily walkable if you can walk a little distance. Otherwise you can hire a guy with a rickshaw bicycle contraption. In days of old they actually pedaled you around. Now they are electric and the guy just steers. Still a fun way to toodle around if you have mobility issues (or not)Glad you had a good day and enjoyed the Princess Pub. Always a fun destination it soccer aka football is going on..

It was open on Discovery princess on deck 6 skagway starboard side from 12 to 1:30pm. I know this as I tried to get I there but was redirected to port side where regular cruisers were seated.

I love a Nicoise salad and do not recall it being offered on our Discovery princess cruise on Sept 18th in either mdr lunch or dinner

I know it’s too late now to help you but you can take deck 7 from one end to the other and then use the stairs or elevator.
Thanks. It seems silly but we and a lot of others had problems. Good solution. But why can't we just take elevator to deck 6? I panicked 2nd day out about being late for spa appointment....

Navigator app dining questions

Can I add our dining reservations prior to boarding? If so how?
I did reserve specialty dining on the regular non app bit can't figure out on the app how to make dinner reservations for MDR. I was recently on Princess and hated their app but could easily make dinner reservations.
Thanks
