  1. So the "new" offers aren't FREE they are $100. The offers back in February were FREE, no $100 upsell to convert to OBC. It would be nice if you could use the $100 OBC for tips, can you do that? If not, then clearly these are $100 cabins, not FREE.

We are taking our FREE cruise next week from receiving the letter back in February.

Has anyone taken the free cruise yet from February's offer and receive credit for it under their VIFP? I'm curious if Carnival is recognizing these cruises with points.

  2. Does anyone know if these partitions can be opened?

with the Pride, the info says each connects, but doesn't specify which on e they connect to, most likely, I'd say yes, you'll connect:

  3. I use cruisetimetables dot com.

the top half of the homepage lists departure ports and the bottom half lists port stops.

If you click on your specific port, it will be you a calendar, click on the day you will be there and the next page will show you the name of the ship and it's itinerary.

  4. We missed Great Stirrup Cay on NCL last year because of windy conditions and high seas.

In 2011, we ALMOST missed Grand Cayman on CCL Liberty. The pilot was determined to find a suitable position to drop anchor for tendering, there were whitecaps and windy conditions but after an hour he gave the go ahead for everyone to tender to Grand Cayman! It was slow going on the tender, but towards the end of the day the winds died down, I guess he predicted that! Yippee!!

  5. We sailed the Victory before the Valor did that itinerary and we were the only ship in port except St. Kitts, which there was a Princess ship that must've pulled in later than we did at 8:00 a.m.

It was a great itinerary and loved being the only ship in port, including St. Thomas, St. Maarten and San Juan, where there were NO crowds anywhere!

  6. What does a cabana cost? We are going to HMC but nothing is listed for that port yet. Is it per person or per cabana?

    Regular cabana:

    http://www.carnival.com/Activities/Excursion/420026

It's $229 for the entire cabana all day.

Price listed is per cabana, (not per person) and good for up to 4 persons, therefore only one person needs to book. For groups with more than 4 guests, an 'extra person surcharge' for the Cabana rental must be purchased for guests 5 & 6 (a maximum of 6 guests per cabana).

    ___

    They also have Beach Villas:

    http://www.carnival.com/Activities/Excursion/420042

Those are larger and are $499 a day.

Price listed is per villa, (not per person) and good for up to 8 persons, therefore only one person needs to book.

For groups with more than 8 guests, an 'extra $49.99 per person surcharge' for the Private Villas at Half Moon Cay must be purchased once onboard, for each additional person from 9-18 guests. 18 absolute maximum allowable.

    ___

The ultimate in "luxury" is the Private Oasis:

    http://www.carnival.com/Activities/Excursion/420029

    At a mere $1,495.99 a day.

The base rate shown is not "Per Person" as listed, but applicable for up to 12 guests.

Only one guest need purchase the reservation for the (up to) 12 guests.

For groups with more than 12 guests, an 'extra $99.99 per person surcharge' for the Private Oasis at Half Moon Cay must be purchased once onboard, for each additional person from 13-24 guests.

  7. She arrives back from Bermuda to New York tomorrow morning, then off to an 8-night cruise to San Juan, St. Thomas and Grand Turk.

We will be on her the following 8-night week.

This was a New Kids On The Block cruise, I believe a 5 night round-trip from New York that left on Thursday.

  8. I followed Gambee's NCL Breakaway review intently, even talking about it a year before when the Breakaway was being built! Gambee just so happened to even be staying in the same CABIN a few months before our cruise! I knew everything about that brand new ship, his reviews were great.

I started reading his Breeze review then though, oh no, I'm getting sucked in! Looking at the Breeze now for Winter 2015.
