We will be arriving on the Rhapsody of the Seas mid August. Looking for a reliable way to get from the Cruise Port to Oia. Someone suggested the company ShoreBee. Has anyone recently used them? There are no recent reviews or mention of them. I've read that we (6 of us) could take a water taxi to Amoudi Bay. Others have said that you can't trust them. I really don't know what to do!

We've walked the steps down in Santorini ( never been to Lindos ) without any issues. The cable car queue was at least 1.5 hours and we really didn't want to wait that long in the summer heat. The walk down took us about 20 minutes, as mentioned above wear sneakers.
Thank you JimmyTheSaint. I've been trying to find out how long the walk down would take. We're in our early 60's with no health problems. I know I'd never be able to walk up that many steps, but thought going down wouldn't be too bad!

We just realized the disadvantage of using the $12 for 2 people prepay. We have to wait on that taxi individual to come get us instead of paying the $5 taxi fare and going back to ship with any taxi. So FYI go outside gate and pay $5 to regular taxi😊
We were also there Monday off the Jewel of the Seas. The only thing I can add to “late bloomer’s” post is that I talked to one of the owners. Chris said that they were down TWO feet of sand!!! The stairs down to the beach were closed because the water washed away the sand under them. They pulled away from the pool area & sank down.
We also had the same problem with the taxi. We waited 30 minutes for them to pick us up. Finally I asked the front desk to call someone. We waited another 15 minutes! Good thing we didn’t cut it too close to get back to the Ship🛳!!

I saw a link somewhere in the boards to reserve day passes to sandcastle....does anyone have that link by chance?
I emailed them recently & got the response that they do NOT sell advanced passes. First come get them. When they’re full, they stop selling them. Would love to know which is true. We’ll be on the Jewel docking this coming Monday 🌴🛳

I HAVE the Compasses' date=' but I don't seem to be able to put them on CC. I don't have a scanner, and when I take a picture, it it too big. I've asked my roll call for help.
If you have any questions, I can look at the Compass.

What night is Formal night? Any recommendations for must see entertainment?
Thank you,

Renee,
We’re sailing on the 21st. Do you have a link to your review and Cruise Compasses? I’d appreciate it🛳🌴

For something fun and active we've enjoyed taking a sailing catamaran excursion to swim with the turtles. Ours had a beach stop and included lunch. :)
OCruisers,
What catamaran did you take?

Also, just to contribute to the experience so far, our friend’s reservation at the Comfort Inn Condado was cancelled for 1/20. Our Allegiant flight was cancelled so we decided to just book flight through RC on the sail date and not take a chance with hotels or further flight cancellations. We had planned on staying at the Holiday Inn Express but were told they were booked.

We booked airline through Royal also because they guarantee that you won’t miss the ships departure. My wife and I are on the 1/21 Jewel cruise also:cool:

Just got our email today from RCI. Dominica indeed is cancelled (and our tour will be refunded to our Visa card), replaced by Martinique. So sad for the people of Dominica, not only loss of so much on the island, and now loss of tourist dollars.
Yes we got our email also. We’re sailing on the Jewel’s January 21st departure.

We've done the southern caribbean on both Jewel (7 nights) and Adventure (B2B) enjoyed them both but am also now looking forward to another B2B on Freedom Sept 2018. Love these southern itineraries.
Ashland you will love the Freedom. Beautiful ship. We took a family cruise on it 6 years ago and our oldest son got engaged on the Ship!

Cruising on the Jewel of the Seas in January and can't decide which beach to go to. Anyone been to The Palms at Pelican Cove???

St Maarten you have to check out Mullet Bay if you like quiet. It's not commercialized. You have to check out the ribs from Rosie's while there. A beer only cost $3 vice $5 or $6 at Orient beach. Orient is good for people watching but you will get seaweed on the beach.
Thank you both. How far away is Mullet Bay from the pier?

We're on this cruise with ya! Here is what were are doing:
St. Croix - Rhythms @ Rainbow Beach
St. Maarten - Pinel Island
Dominica - not sure yet (looking for a good beach!)
Barbados - Boatyard
Grenada - Grand Anse
We've been to all of these and LOVE them! See ya on board!
Hey Laura,
Nice to hear from you! My wife & I are really excited about this Cruise because of the different itinerary. We've been on a number of other Cruises, but never to these Islands🌴. It would be nice if we do meet up on this Cruise.
