And not everyone has large amounts of OBC! Just saying - it’s fun to mix up experiences. I have enjoyed most of my 58 cruises on 7 different cruise lines. Each one has pros and cons but overall quite enjoyable.

I think the real advantage is with Have it All fare on HAL versus the All included on Celebrity.  For your European example on a Norway cruise, HIA adds $380 for a 7 day cruise with drinks, WiFi, 1 specialty dinner and $100 shore excursion credit.  Celebrity adds $560 for only drinks and wifi.   That’s a significant difference to me.  BTW the cost for a balcony cabin on HAL was $1969 vs $2441 on Celebrity without any package included.    So you could book on HAL, include the HIA package and still be cheaper than cruise only price on Celebrity.

I am not seeing how you are better off on Celebrity.

Our last, which will be our last, Celebrity cruise was in January. We are now looking elsewhere after seeing too many changes by Celebrity taking away previous amenities while raising prices 40% or more. We have future cruises now booked with HAL and Oceania. We are also looking at Silversea, Windstar and other real premium and luxury cruise lines.

Yes- Celebrity’s relentless cutback, up charge, increase prices campaign begun in January, 2023 has certainly soured my loyalty. Although not jumping ship completely - we have Princess and HAL booked! Cruised on the Enchanted and Discovery- loved them! Koningsdam coming up!   Can’t wait to sail on the brand new- amazing Sun. Princess.  By the way those cruise lines stil mainly offer REFUNDABLE deposits without the huge up charge. I just booked the Sun for 99.00 refundable and added the Plus package that still includes drinks, Wi-Fi and GRATUITIES!

No need to be unkind to someone on the phone who has no control over a company's computer system, especially when you know that your spouse can go thru check-in with whatever time you have. It's not a big deal, and it sounds like you have a month + to do it.

I was not unkind. I don’t know how you interpreted my asking for info as unkind.

    Happy Cruising to all!

  5. Check-in opened today for our April 22, 2024 cruise. First thing I, an  early-riser,   began the process.  I successfully checked myself in. Then I tried to switch profiles to check in my husband. No access was available. I tried again on the App on his phone 3 times. Not possible to check him in. I called Celebrity - waited for the call back. After checking with the “powers” that be I was informed that my husband’s check in has not opened yet. It could be any time now - some not open til 30 days before the cruise. The agent had no answer for me when I questioned the inconvenience of having to check daily.
on the App. The notification says check in begins on March 8, 2024.  It doesn’t say for just “some guests.” It doesn’t say only one person from booking number will have access at a particular time. In 58 cruises on 7 different cruise lines this has never happened before.
I realize my husband will just board at my boarding time no matter what time he receives. It’s just the absurdity of checking in separately on 2 different dates when we have the same booking number and are in the same stateroom.

We were on in November for an extended family gathering, with a 1 and a 3 year old.  Note there is no kiddies pool, and children must be toilet trained to use the pool - not even swim diapers allowed.  That said, both sets of parents found the kids club/toddler area kept the kids entertained on a daily basis when open.

Yes, but parents must be with their toddlers.

844 418 6824 is the Captains club phone number. They will e mail captains club for the missing points or any other issues one might have. I have always found them pretty quick to respond via email.  A couple years ago I was missing a lot of points from two cruises as I sailed solo and was only awarded points based on single occupancy and the points were added within days.

Same here.  Points showing in my Points History but not on my profile page total.  Not a bid deal as not sailing Celebrity until May.

My points are NOT showing anywhere, I called th Captain’s Club. They are sending an email.  We immediately watched the Dec 20 webinar.  Sure hope we get our points. We’ve never had a problem before! 🤞

  8. Koningsdam is a beautiful ship.
With all the cutbacks, up-charges, increased pricing on Celebrity I’m booking Princess and  HAl as an alternative to Celebrity that I have exclusively booked the past few years. Just off the Discovery Princess- Food varied and very good, service perfect, internet capable of streaming. Their Plus and Premier packages are ALL INCLUSIVE including drinks, specialty restaurants, gratuities, special desserts, a good room service menu at no extra charge, more with Premier!!!! And no refundable/non refundable price differential!
in the next year I will be cruising on Celebrity, Princess and HAL. Variety is a good thing. Hope Celebrity stops bleeding their very loyal cruisers. I’ve cruised on 6 different cruise lines. I have enjoyed all of them. Happy Sailing!

  9. Good Morning!!

Are there any more cruisers who have travelled with young teens?  I’m eager to hear your experiences before we invest a lot of money for our June Alaska cruise.

    Thank you so much!

  10. Just disembarked- paper Patter delivered to our cabin every evening. Go to the Medallion desk on deck 7.  They will be happy to help you learn to use the App.  It’s worth learning. Everything is at your fingertips including ship time - which changes.  I love the Medallion. Try it.

  11. We recently booked Alaska for June on Discovery.  We’ll be traveling with 13 and 11 year old grandchildren. I’m worried about the teen program for an introverted 13 year old girl. 13-17 seems like a huge age range. Is the Beach House just a place for teens to hang out with no structured activities?  Any info cruisers with young teens would be greatly appreciated,  TIA.

  12. We are on Discovery Princess- in Cabo soon- The ship staff know nothing about the Rose Bowl!!! As Michigan grads my husband is going crazy -since no info available as to if we will be able to access Rose Bowl coverage today on the TV or will we have to hunt for a Sports’ Bar in Cabo.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!! TIA! Oh - and Happy New Year!
