  1. In my opinion, Mr Sanchos is a more laid back. Ive been twice, and its never seemed full.Food is good, so were the drinks.Plenty of shade, which I need. I have never used the pool, but others enjoy it. You don't have to worry about ppl wanting to sell to you while your lounging.

Not much for little ones to do other than play in the sand or pool. But, maybe they have added something since Ive been there.

  2. I like this idea, but wonder how it will be when everyone starts using it. I guess they will hire enough people to unload you and move your car.

I read on the other thread, it was $120-130 (sorry, I forgot!), and Im assuming that is a 7 day cruise. Im taken care of for my next 3 cruises, but might have to try this! Will be eager to see how smoothly it runs.

  3. My granddaughter and I went last July 10, and she was sick most of the cruise. Spent 2 days at the infirmary. She got sick the first night! But, had a lot of fun that day before it hit her. Then Late Thursday night, she went to the late night kids club and didn't want to leave. They will call you when your kids want to leave. She was 6 at the time, so I had to walk down and get her. Before when she was sick, they let me come pick up a bag full of arts and crafts and coloring sheets, for her to do in the cabin. Most of the stuff we could keep, I think they wanted the scissors back.

The ship is great for kids. She had so much fun the first day, but wasn't old enough or tall enough to do two of the big slides. But, the two small ones were still fun. This year, she will be old enough and taller!

I usually get a balcony, but have been trying to cut down on cost, so just did an inside cabin. It was fine for us. Great for sleeping.

We are doing the same cruise July 9. Hoping she's healthy this time!

  4. Check Inn At The Water Park. Shuttle use to be free, but it cost now. Still not bad. I live north of Houston, and even though it's only about 45 mins or so, we still go down early. We are staying two days before our January cruise, and for three of us, shuttle, room and leaving the car (canopy parking),it's $150. January us cheaper then now, but it's still not expensive.

  5. I would like to know if you have sailed Carnival from Galveston since they have started this staggered check in. I purchased FTTF for my October cruise, and it says the check in time is between 12-1. I know it depends on variables like weddings, clearing customs etc, but I have always showed up at the port 10:30ish, and most times been on the ship 11ish. That was before FTTF and this staggered checkin. It says you might board LATER, but not earlier. In this case, if they clear the ship faster, they don't start boarding earlier like they use to? It just seems so late to checkin especially with FTTF. Thoughts? Thanks

  6. Just carried in a 18 pack of DP this week. Checked bags are fine for water, but carry on better for unshaken soda. Galveston only seems to care around spring break weeks. Even then, modest amounts seem tobe just fine.

Thanks, I mainly want to bring water.

  7. Have you joined your roll call yet? You should be able to meet lots of other families traveling with kids the same age. We have always found that if our son makes a friend quickly, we never have a problem getting him to go to the club.

Yes. It's a VERY slow roll call, and no kids her age so far. We are gonna check it out early in the cruise and hopefully she will meet a friend or really like what they are doing.

  8. Hi, I'm taking my DGD (6), on her 4th cruise, but her first cruise with just the two of us. We are on The Liberty Of The Seas, July 10. Now that the time is getting closer, she is becoming shy, and says she doesn't want to go to the kids club. She is only shy for a half second! When we cruised before, I had to stay with her. But last cruise, was the first one she had to stay alone, and she would not even try it. I believe she was 3 or 4. Had she stayed, I know she would have loved it.

Could you tell me some of the things her age group (6-8) will be doing. I have signed all releases for her to be able to do activities. Do they take them swimming, rock climbing, etc? I just need to give her some idea of what she might do there. Thanks, Dot

  9. I bet it also depends on the port and whats going on at the time of boarding. I sailed 2 years ago when I had to get rid of my water. Now that they sail the water packages,I can't imagine them wanting you to bring water either. Im gonna ask the cruisers before my cruise whats up with the water in Galveston. I only bring a couple of bottles anyway and then refill.
