  1. We have a cruise booked and all we had to pay was port charges and a small upgrade fee for a better cabin. In the event that we need to cancel this, I understand that we will get the port charges back with no issues but what about the upgrade fee of 400.00? One person said we would .....another said we won't? Just wondering if anyone has had to do this.
  2. Thinking about traveling on the Edge but not sure about the cabins. Are all of the C3 cabins on the Edge the Infinite verandas? Are there any "real veranda" cabins on that ship? If so what category are they? Not sure that I will like the Infinite veranda. Used to traveling on the Summit so no experience with the new ships so any advice is welcome. Does the top window open? Can it be open when the ship is in motion? Does the door have to be closed to be on the veranda?
  3. Leaving on Windstar in a few weeks. Is there a liquor store at the Old San Juan Pier where we could get some champagne or wine? Or is there something within walking distance of the pier?
  4. I just love St. Thomas. I told my husband that if we ever did a land vacation on any of the islands that would be the place that I would like to stay for a week or longer. So excited for this cruise ...our 1st one in 3 years.
  5. HI Tony and Kathy.... We don't leave until the 1/21 so St. Thomas is on the 2nd leg of our trip. My friend and I have never been on Windstar before so we are really looking forward to it. We usually travel with Celebrity.
  6. Is Maho as nice as Trunk. My friend that I travel with has never been to St. John before so I want to take her to the best beach even if that means going back to Trunk again.
  7. In a few weeks we will be arriving on Windstar Star Pride that docks at the West India Company Dock. Getting in at 8:00am and leaving at 10:00pm. Because we will be in port for several hours we are wanting to go to St. John on our own... Can I get information about how to get there, cabs, ferry and which to use. Also, how far is the ferry from WICD? Also would like to know which beach to go to on St. John. I have been to Trunk before and it was BEAUTIFUL. Was wondering, since we have time if we should go by taxi to either Maho or Cinnamon or is there another that would be good for snorkeling (looking for easy snorkel not a lot of current). Would prefer to have chairs and drinks as well. Also want to make sure that we won't have trouble getting a cab ride back to Cruz from which ever beach we go to. Most likely we will never have this much time at St. John again so I want to make the best possible use out of it. Thanks in advance for all of the help.
  8. That is weird...I did a google search and it took me to trip advisor and it shows permently closed. I just did another search and guessing they are still in business. Gonna send them a msg. Thanks...
  9. Is this the Yellow Submarine? If so I Google it today and the are out of business. Looked like a nice trip.
  10. Wanting to thank all that have responded to my post. Please if there are any other suggestions, beach ship tips or whatever please post.... It's always good to have great information from previous travelers that have been there and done it.
  11. Great.. I slightly panicked when I saw that almost all of the cabins were "connecting" Thought about the noise we had on a connecting door on Celebrity...Never again for that type of cabin...Avoid at all cost...lol
  12. THANKS. Wish beer and wine were complimentary...Darn... We are used to Celebrity but actually its not really complimentary on there either ...it is actually hidden in the cost of the trip
  13. THANKS so much. Beach BBQ sounds wonderful from what I have been told. So excited for this trip
  14. THANKS....Oh gosh so sorry to hear that...Do you have another beach suggestion in Les Saintes?
  15. THANKS..This will be a great option for us if we don't think that we can do the other trail.
  16. I just booked this and saw on the documents where it shows tender or dock so that question has been answered. But I would appreciate any good beach advice on Gustavia, St. Barthelemy Little Bay, Montserrat Jost Van Dyke, BVI Virgin Gorda, BVI Bequia, Grenadines Terre-de-Haut (Les Saintes), Guadeloupe
  17. We are thinking about taking the Star Pride next month out of San Juan. Some of the rooms have connecting doors and I know from other ships to stay away from them but the category we are looking out this is all that is available. Anyone ever stay in them and are they noisy? Here are the ports that we are going to. Can anyone tell me which are tender and which are docked? We are wanting to just go to a nice beach on each of the stops so wondering about the smaller islands if there will be taxis or do we need to do ship tours? Thought that I read that they serve complimentary beer or wine on this ship for meals but not finding that anywhere now, is this true? Last question, what is the approximate price of beer and rum punches.. Thanks in advance for the felp San Juan, Puerto Rico - 10:00 PM 2 Charlotte Amalie (St.Thomas), USVI 8:00 AM 10:00pm 3 Gustavia, St. Barthelemy 9:00 AM 10:00 PM 4 Little Bay, Montserrat 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 5 Philipsburg, St. Maarten 7:00 AM 10:00 PM 6 Jost Van Dyke, BVI 8:00 AM 11:59 PM 7 Virgin Gorda, BVI 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 8 San Juan, Puerto Rico San Juan, Puerto Rico - 7:00 PM 2 At Sea - - 3 St. Georges, Grenada 9:00 AM 10:00 PM 4 Bequia, Grenadines 8:00 AM 10:00 PM 5 Pigeon Island, Saint Lucia 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 6 Terre-de-Haut (Les Saintes), Guadeloupe 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 7 Philipsburg, St. Maarten 8:00 AM 2:00 PM 8 San Juan, Puerto Rico
  18. Yes it was a flat top.. Had that on the Summit too. No worries about getting off topic. Thanks to everyone that has responded about everything.
  19. Thx for the food info....when we were on the Millennium in Alaska and the Summit ..back in the day ..Jan. 2020.. In the evenings we would go to the aft buffet and they had chicken, minute steaks and fish that they would grill every evening. Also the steam tables would have some grilled vegetables and I can't recall what else but there were usually good options. I think they had salmon as well. I will miss that for sure.
  20. OH NO... That was the one thing that we really enjoyed about the buffet. Everything that was grilled back there was pretty good. We would also go back there every morning to get our omelets made there was ..never..a line. Please tell me they are they still making fresh to order omelets??
