... I am more concerned about it not working and having to remove it. .. I always have the phone with me.

    Any thoughts?

Not sure about the removal question and I have no person experience with using the device but did note that the one review about the device (if you can have any faith in Amazon reviews 😏) said it worked great on their cruise.

I give up...you are obviously not looking at the same link picture as me.  The "Canada" link does in fact show a cutout that will handle 3 lenses...it actually shows 3. The *second* (US) link only shows a small rectangle in the upper left corner that cannot possibly accommodate 3 lenses.

Regardless...have a great rest of your day.

In either link it is still only a relatively small circular device.  It isn’t like a phone case.  It matters not what cameras there are as it has no “cutouts”.
I will have a great day, thanks and you do as well.

I'm not talking about the cutout for the medallion. Look at the picture. It has a small rectangular cutout showing space for 2 camera lenses. This WILL NOT work for any of the newer phones that have 3 lenses.

Look closer. It is only a round holder not much bigger than the medallion that fits in it. It doesn’t cover the whole back of the phone or whatever device you want to stick it on.

It may very well be a stick-on...but look at the camera lens cutout. That will only fit a very few phones. Many now come with 3 lenses in a triangle pattern.

It’s a round thing that is just a bit larger in diameter than the medallion.  Unless the whole back of the phone is covered in camera lenses I doubt that will be a problem. (I’m still not sticking one on my phone😉).

LOL! I don't see how that *possibly* work "for all devices"!  Too many different form factors for phones these days!

Not sure why it wouldn’t work for most devices. It appears to just be a stick-on holder that uses an adhesive to attach to the device. Not sure that I’d want to stick one on my phone though.

Not sure what is happening but when I log in I see an account that is not mine. In an effort to correct, I changed password but the same account came up showing all of the information pertinent to another person's account. Does anyone else have this problem?

Quick, gift yourself a world cruise! 😉

  7. I wouldn’t be counting on the daughter and her friend making it to the wedding.  Princess doesn’t guarantee anything when it comes to times and ports.  This includes embarkation and disembarkation ports.  Read #8 here: https://static.cdn.responsys.net/i2/responsysimages/content/princessus/PassageContract.pdf?cid=brand_email_info_internal_newsletter_agentnews_se1ms048_210524_&eccn=&rrid=00132928&mi_u=00132928

I wonder whatever happened with that? I hope everything turned out OK.

She posted earlier that they went back home and arrived there last night close to 10 PM.  Princess offered to fly them to Spain to catch the ship next week to finish the cruise.  They declined because they didn't want to fly to Europe and only have a short cruise and then have to fly back.

We have been on the Island (Alaska) pre-changes and the Coral (Panama Canal) two years ago. We hope to be on the Island in October 2021 to the Med. We found the Coral to be the perfect ship for us as we primarily cruise for itinerary. I will miss the International Cafe on the Island.

The only issue we had on the Island was the Horizon Court became very crowded on scenic sailing days when it was very cold or wet. Take rain and cold weather gear just in case, also waterproof shoes.

Also recollect there are some "secret" outdoor viewing areas far aft on some of the decks.

Since Princess “destroyed” the back of the Island with the addition of cabins, most of those “secret” outdoor viewing areas are likely no longer there.

Bahamas Cruise line ships are former CCL ships. The one starting used to be Carnival Celebration, the other was a Costa ship so that gives you an idea of stateroom size

The ship pictured in the article is actually a converted ferry from somewhere in Europe. A few years back a guy did a YouTube video about the $99 cruise his wife bought for them.  Part of it involved a timeshare pitch.  All in all the experience was pretty sad.

I’m just hoping we can go on our May 2021 British Isles cruise.  I’m cautiously optimistic that things will improve by then.  2020 I think is a complete loss TBH.

I would tend to agree with you.  I also think that until there is a successful treatment/vaccine/containment protocol there are going to be a large number of folks who are going to be reluctant to get back on a cruise ship.  Definitely get that impression from the comments all around CC.

  12. When I saw the title of this thread I had to chuckle. CDC double standards indeed.  Mask or no mask?  They work, they don't work.  Think about Fauci stating in February and March that no one needed to wear a mask. Around April every one should wear a mask.  Then in towards the end of May this was posted on the CDC website (see the conclusion about the efficacy of mask wearing) :

    https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/5/19-0994_article?fbclid=IwAR2V1hPqN0WKb2kXVExP_1UE9ARvru6mtPZvZN0w1jx0S3l3fXLhxMP_bXs

Now no matter how you may feel about that information, I myself, will not be confident of my safety even when everyone (myself included) is wearing a mask. Especially when I see how some folks wear them and what they use as a mask.

Just a thought about the higher rate of spread on a cruise ship vs a plane.  No one talks much about the possibility that the SARS-CoV-2 virus could be spread the same way that Noro is spread (think poor sanitation practices).  As I say, just a thought.

I think I will make my own mask...😉

Looks like Coral does not have pickleball yet (or didn't at time of writing).

Three years ago we did a Panama Canal cruise on the Coral and I noticed pickleball was scheduled mid-mornings on sea days.  It was on the sports court at the back of the ship.  The one day we went up to check it out the equipment was there, but, no one was playing.  Of course it was very windy, like 20+ MPH windy.

A credit freeze isn't always the answer.

    Info from The Motley Fool:

Perhaps the biggest downside to credit freezes is that all of the hassle might not stop identity thieves. While a freeze will most likely prevent them from opening new accounts in your name, it cannot prevent fraud on your existing accounts. If thieves get hold of your credit card number, for example, they can still run up a bunch of charges in your name, credit freeze or no.

I would still do the freeze anyway.  However, before you do, enroll in a free monitoring service like Credit Karma.  Every bit of help is worthwhile.  YMMV.
