There was a lift in the terminal I seem to remember.

WE used a taxi tour and my advice is to do this. we visited Gib for a second time and walked up to the cable car to explore. The queues were hours long! Several people I spoke to came out of the line, even after paying (there are 2 queues - one to pay and one to access) and went in search of a taxi tour.
The taxi tour was brilliant.

I got on a ship for my first cruise, went to put my empty luggage under the bed and found 2 full packed suitcases! This was after we had left port. My steward arranged for someone to collect them. Somebody forgot to put their luggage out the night before!

Rome will be really, really hot. We wore shorts and saw plenty others in shorts. Dress cool, I think sleeves might too hot so suggest taking a scarf to cover up.

I disagree with most of the "advice" given above by NON medical people. There is far more that is done- with an assessment that licensed professional are trained for. It's simplistic to just tell people to take out their own. First 10 sutures is a lot, again an assessment of how to proceed, by a professional is grossly superior. The claims of how to remove sutures is a complete violation of infection control and never would be done a professional service. I've had to deal with the nightmare of treating too many dehisced wounds with secondary infections.
I was trained by the nurses at my GP surgery in the exact method of avoiding infection. It is not difficult once shown. They gave me everything I needed to use to take with me.

Get someone with you to remove them. My surgery trained me before we went on holiday and I practised with them on a gauze. Much easier.

You can just walk up when you want to eat and they seat you, sometimes you have a wee wait but not for earlier times I found. We went to see them onboard and booked a regular 7.30 time slot. We were seated in the same section every nigh and only has short waits. In other words...Don't worry.

We boarded Navigator at 11.30, there were queues which were building behind us. I would say earlier or later to avoid the queue.

Take the train, it is really easy. It took 1 hour 50 minutes and was air conditioned and relaxing.
Taxi from the ship to railway station -£7
Train fare for 2 people on a 9.30am train(not via Barnham, not centra lLondon) - £22 with a railcard, £30 without.
Walk to hotel at airport.
We did this last week. If it is a Sunday you need to change train, if any other day you can go direct.

Just off the NOS. I did not buy a coffee card but there was a sign saying an extra shot in a coffee would mean using two of the coffee stamps.

We boarded NCL in Rome a couple of years ago with the same issues...like a secondary cruise and nothing could be booked til after Barcelona for the end of the week.

There is one in the terminal once you come through passport control.

WE did two half day trips, both starting around 1pm. It was great and we saw what we needed to. NO queues at all.

Wandering in central Kirkwall is lovely. There is a fantastic cathedral right in the centre which is free, and a small museum. Also some old ruins to pay to look round. Lovely shops and tea/coffee shops too.

It covers your entire meal unless you order loads of extras.

On my first cruise I found 2 full suitcases under my bed when I went to tidy mine away. I guess the previous occupants forgot to put them outside the door the night before!!!! RC collected them - i hope their owners got all the clothes back!
-
We did this too...my advice is to maybe not book a tour in every port. My MIL only did every second day as she found it very hot, and that was in October. It was a great trip for everyone as we all did our own thing and met for dinner at night.
-
I'm worried about this too so i intend to head somewhere on embarkation and try to buy a package and book what I want.

New question -
Thanks for the previous answers.
As I am having no luck electing my restaurants for the dining package in advance I wondered if anyone knows if you can buy the dining package on board for the same price?
Thanks

I would like to know this too?

good luck with that :-(
My wife and I are members of Crown & Anchor and are booked on 2 cruises with RC this year. Their website is just about the worse cruise website I have ever experienced. It is full of errors and confusing information. Maybe send them an email to cruiseadmin.au@rcclapac.com.
I was using Facebook messenger but apparently with the dining package you can not pre book your choices. That is not very great in my opinion as you could end up wasting money if you can only eat at 9 o'clock at night (that is too late for me), or 6pm (way too early!) . I may eat at less of them and just book the ones I want. I might try an email too though. NCL allow me to pre book!
I agree the website is really hard to work through.

Hi
I am trying to book meals in the speciality restaurants buying a 5 night dining package. it doesn't seem to allow me to book restaurants at the same time as paying for the package and keeps trying to charge me full price for them. Can anyone help, or do I need to phone?
Thanks

If its a Mastercard or Visa it should be okay but that prepaid thing makes me think twice, because we don't have prepaid cards in Denmark so I really don't know if it works.
Can you tell me the brand/bank name and then I will look it up.
Or maybe ask your bank if it works like a regular debitor card because then you should be fine.
My prepaid card worked in Copenhagen. It was from the Post Office (UK)
