Was this Blu or MDR? Maybe the difference is that we were in Luminae. Also we never order lobster on a ship because we have been spoiled by regular visits to Maine.

Haven't been on Summit in a few years so can't contradict the above post's bad review, but we were just on sister-ship Connie last month and it was a completely different story: Luminae was great, no cutbacks visible, entertainment excellent and varied, ship (and plumbing) in great shape. Furthermore, Caribbean Princess doesn't seem to be doing that well lately; here's a review that is very thorough and very off-putting:

I do hope the cutbacks don't continue to the other ships! The lobster is now in a soupy sauce with rice, the fried brie is now fried won ton with no brie visible, the filet was stringy and tough, the egg roll is now just cabbage in a teenie tiny 2" by 2" tortilla. (2" is being generous) the sea bass (dorado?) now does not come with artichokes and only 3 capers to be found. The salmon was okay. The deserts...YIKES! The cafe was suggested the last few nights. I'm hoping the meals will improve for future guests, but I have a feeling this may be a portion of the new menu they have been talking about for the last year or two. This makes me very upset as I like Celebrity but it has been too much in cutbacks.

Since we have dinner plans in Bermuda at a nice restaurant I will wait until I am on board to get Tuscan reservations instead of a dining plan - maybe get a deal. We have been to Qsine 3 times and think I won't miss it. Thanks for the information.

Just an FYI...we heard the Tuscan was really really hit or miss with the food. Everyone said the first night (half price offered) was really good and they mentioned the second time was really awful. Most comments (good and bad) were about the filet. I started wondering if they kept some kind of record on whether it was your first visit versus second visit. Not saying this is the case but it did seem most had great meals their first visit and not so great meals on their second visit.

I am guessing it is all about the $.....they probably make a lot more of

it on a charter.

I think you may be right. Someone mentioned beverage packages are not included with charter cruises. Prices are also increased on these sailings.

Although I do not know much about the Princess I would not recommend the Summit. The food in Blu was not great. Major cutbacks on everything from apps to dinner. Very disappointing. Also, the bathrooms were not working several times during the week. We (three couples) are still trying to figure out what the dry dock upgrades were to the ship???? (other than the movie screen and indoor pool loungers). The entertainment was not entertaining. I was embarrassed for them. All three couples (even with the Bayonne Port being very convenient) will not be sailing on the Summit in the future.

It's not immaturity. It's the fact your calling out something that literally was just an early call.

I inserted my card. Saw 2400 or whatever and went looking for the host. Not there.

I have OCD and plan to the T. I had a fully paid Carnival cruise booked for July with my sister. I called and cancelled that while waiting for host. (lost deposit).

Now my anxiety kicks in. Crap. I have nothing planned. How does this cert work. What do I do. I'll post on cruise critic. It was the wrong amount. I made a post before I knew the amount. My bad.

Yikes! :eek: Pretty certain he did not mean it in that way. He usually isn't wrong...or will ask others if they know differently. Have recieved a lot of great advice from many here including Pompey. It may sometimes appear a bit harsh when reading. but I don't believe it was not written in that tone. Reading versus hearing can come across completely different. Trust me - be there done that. :o

I just went and took a look and I do see my name on the the roll call AND my actual real first name. I did not sign up for the roll call, meet and greet and never even sailed on the Allure ship. It's a bit concerning.

You really only need to worry about Zika if you are pregnant, thinking of getting pregnant sometime/getting someone else pregnant:o (or not using precautions & you/someone else COULD get pregnant).

 

For those of us who are too old to have children, done having children it is really a non-issue.

In February, the World Health Organization declared Zika virus a "public health emergency of international concern" because of its suspected links to Guillain-Barre and microcephaly.

I did get a bite on my ankle in Cozumel. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and feel fine. We just shopped right near the ship. We made certain to spray at the other ports of call and had no bites. Not one bite while tubing in Jamaica. I was a bit worried due to the dense foliage and water. I would def spray if concerned. I sprayed from the top of my head to my toes. :)

I should also mention...mosquito's LOVE me! :mad:

Is rebate Considered the same thing as the OBC loaded onto your players card. This is where i get confused :confused: I was told both will be gone with the new program, but I noticed above it just states rebate.

Am on anthem. Got a really convoluted explanation about the new program having 7 or 8 tiers for people based on your play from Shirley the casino host but she didn't know when it would start. I don't understand why it's so hard to roll out a program that's been announced for over a year.

I have to give a lot of credit to Adela on Freedom of the Seas for taking good care of us. She's been making us feel special.

I'm still gonna cruise RCI just as much as ever cause that's really what it's all about for me. The casino enhances the cruises but depending on the program I just may not spend as much time and $ in the casino...or just quit as soon as I have a decent winning and enjoy the rest of my cruise doing other stuff

Curious, feelings on the slots for those on the ships this week? I felt I didn't lose as quickly as before, but they didn't seem to pay out the bigger hand payouts like before. Just seemed different this last time on board. Could be I just picked the wrong machines / lost my mojo.

P.S. They must have some how added more points to to my total...my rebate was higher and my points were lower compared to the cruise before this recent one. ????????

We had great fun doing the Segway in Bermuda. However, if it is possible to book and pay with an am ex gift card I suggest doing so. You may also ask if you can pay cash when you arrive. Unfortunately, Celebrity does not offer this tour through their ship, but NCL does. :( We narrowed the fraud down to to the out-sourced TA or the Bermuda tour. :(

Friends we met on board loved the jet ski tour offered through Celebrity. But not great for those with back problems.

The other option is a day pass to one of the hotels. They usually offer lunch, pool and a beautiful beach with chairs/loungers and umbrellas.

To all of my underwear conscious CC friends: After all of these comments, I really don't know what to say. I did buy 6 new undies and I will be more careful around the hot tubs.

LOL! My DH has the same problem. It's the darn gym days...gotta pack extra pairs of undies do to all of the sweating. We're the balcony with the black or gray undies blowin' in the wind. :D

We are booked in Aqua Class and I would like to know if the shampoo, conditioner and bath/shower gel is in a dispenser or in individual bottles like they used to have.

 

Recently got off of the Regal Princess and they now use dispensers and the products were disgusting. I would rather bring my own products with me if that is the case.
