  1. yes, it includes lunch on embarkation day.  Just got off the Indy yesterday.  Had the package, ate in Chops for lunch.  No reservation needed.  Was only a few in there. When you get on board, go to one of the restaurants and make your reservations for your entire cruise.  you can't make them online ahead of time.  They schedule the first night for you.   Was very easy, the restaurants weren't crowded most nights.  Playmakers was good, we did that for afternoon snacks.  ha

We're doing two nights on the equinox next week, and we're very excited.  The big selling point for this one is to check out a class of ship we usually don't get to experience.  We can rarely get away for more than a long weekend - though we take those frequently - and cruise lines rarely put their nicer ships on short itineraries. We can't wait to explore!

We just did a 10 night on the Equinox in October, you will love the ship.  A 2 night cruise is a great way to get a feel for the ship.  I thought the Equinox was a great size, but we are partial to somewhat smaller ships.  Haven't done any of the 'mega' ones yet.  Have fun.

  3. We are also doing the 2 night in Feb on the Infinity.  We live in Orlando so it is a quick drive.  We love any cruise, have been on 44, and we know the 2 night ones aren't a typical cruise, but for us it is great.  Fun to get-away and relax. Will be in Miami the Friday before so a perfect 3 day weekend.  I think if you have one booked you will have a great time - not everyone needs a 2 week cruise to relax.  :)  Of course I am looking forward to November and my 12 night.  ha ha  Plus, we got a deal of $93, plus taxes, how in the heck can you pass that up?  not me!!

We did a two-night on Infinity last year and really enjoyed it. To us it was the same level of service as a longer cruise, food was the same. The crowd skews a little younger, seemed to be more locals,  and there were more family groups. I would NOT describe it as a "party cruise". However, there were no Captain's Club events at all on the cruise - we received a notice when we checked in. If I remember correctly there was a show each night but I don't think they had the big production shows. We are only Select level so I can't tell you if you get your Elite perks.

Our only disappointment was the condition of the ship. In some areas the wear and tear was really bad (like the seating in the Constellation lounge).  And the decor of the staterooms was very dated. But that doesn't ruin a short cruise.

Thanks.  Yes, this is also on the Infinity.  We are local so it was a good deal and we figured it would be nice so close to Valentine's Day.  Not worried about the perks really, was just curious, ha.  It will be fun no matter what.

  5. What was your experience like on a 2 night cruise?  We have done 44 cruises so I know it is a short cruise and I will want it to be longer, ha.  I just haven't done a 2 night one before and wondering if anything much will be different.  I assume they will still have a show, etc..  Do you know if we will still get any of our Elite perks?

    Thanks

  6. I tried to do a search but didn't find much about the reburb on the Constellation.  Anyone know exactly what changes will take place?  Any new restaurants, or changes to the current ones?  I haven't been on the Constellation in several years and am considering a cruise in 2020, but after being on the bigger ships I wonder if we will miss some of the bars, restaurants, etc.

  7. We cruised a 9 night last year over Christmas.  We did a 5 night specialty dining package.  The only night that was more was Christmas Eve/ Day.  They must have changed things.  We didn't mind since we had plenty of dining options.  I understand everyone would want to do a specialty restaurant on a holiday so I guess they have to raise the prices.  I loved being on the ship on the holidays, so much fun, music/food, etc.  made it all special.  I loved the Christmas singing on Christmas Eve.

  8. We have done a day pass 3x, great resort.  Pool is great with swim up bar.  Beach is nice.  Meals and drinks all included.  2 restaurants to choose from for breakfast/lunch.  They had some activities you could do.  We didn't rent jet skis or anything but I think they were available.

I booked with Jay's for 1 day next month( Arriving on Celebrity Equinox).  The price was very reasonable. 41.80 ALL IN.  Includes insurance, tax and pick up/drop off at terminal.  I rented a compact car because we just plan to hit a few beaches for snorkeling.

I was looking at the website for Jay's and it says airport pickup - were you just going to take a cab to pick it up or did they mention they would have something at the pier?  Thanks for any advice.  Hard to know which company to go with when you are booking international.

  10. question on rental cars - for those who have done it recently.  Did they charge you just for the car or put a huge hold on your CC?  I read somewhere that they put a $1000 deposit/hold on your CC . I can't find the post now and was just curious.  Don't want that kind of hold on a card in case it takes days to come off.

  11. What is the boat like that takes you over to De Palm Island?  Travelling with someone with a little bit of mobility issues and wondering how hard it was to get on/off the boat?  It looks like a small boat in the pictures I have seen - ???

    Thanks

  12. We have done Barceló 2x, 1st time we loved it, 2nd time - was last Christmas - I am sure being Christmas was the reason but we found zero chairs on beach or pool,  we looked all over, finally just put our stuff on a spot by the pool an enjoyed the pool, but we really missed being able to get out of the pool and sit, ha.  Drinks were good, buffet was decent but nothing great.  I would say about the same as ship buffet, not tons of choices.  Didn't do the beach since we live in FL and do the beaches all the time.

  13. We just returned from a 9 night over Christmas. We were able to eat at Chops on embarkation  day. Johnny Rockets was also free the entire cruise with our UDP.  We ate there several days for lunch and got it to go every time to eat by the pool or in the room while changing after a day at the islands.  Food was much better there for a burger than the burgers in the buffet.

Unfortunately so.  Also, the waiter said that Sabor is being discontinued for this ship.  After drydock, it will become a seafood venue.

Thanks for the reply.  We got the ultimate dining package, hope we don't get bored, ha ha.  That is sad about Sabor, but I guess they go with what is popular.  I happen to love seafood but my husband will be sad.  Thanks for the updates, we cruise on Dec 21, can't wait

  15. I know on my previous RCCL cruise they did a discount on massages at the spa if you booked for the first day or on a port day. Does Carnival offer any deals like this, and if so, do you have an idea of prices or discount? Have a friend leaving tomorrow and I told her I would ask the pros.... Thanks so much

  16. Will be on the Navigator in December and I heard the menu's for Chops and Giovani's changed, not sure if this is true or not and wondered if someone who has sailed in the last year had a copy of the menu? I looked on the RCCL website at the sample menu and it does appear different than the last time we sailed on Freedom, but it also didn't appear to be the entire menu. Thanks.

  17. My final payment is due the end of August - but if I need to cancel my cruise before final payment, do I get my deposit back? I booked directly thru RCCL online. I know I could probably research this question but I am on my phone and it is hard to search so thought I would just post a quick question in case someone knows the answer. I haven't called RCCL yet since I am at work. Just curious if I would need to transfer my deposit to a future cruise or just ask for the refund, if possible?

    thanks
