  1. Could HAL and Princess be having the same problem of barnacle fouling of their hulls which has caused a Celebrity ship to reduce its speed and miss ports becauce the barnacles are causing a significant drag on the ship's forward movement? The problem has gotten so bad that the second Celebrity Eclipse cruise to Alaska has now been cancelled and it will go into drydock to remove the pesky barnacles.
  2. 3 to 5:30 pm hours tend to be pretty busy...some prefer first thing in the morning
  3. We just got off Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas and have to admit - we were impressed! Lots for families to do - with bumper cars, rock climbing, surfing, sky diving, Northstar (goes 300 ft above sea level in a glass dome) and so much more. Worth considering.
  4. We have done both. Definitely night and day between the two. If you are comfortable with the ice cream stand called "Lick me 'til Ice Cream", then this cruise may be for you. Be prepared, if you book below the pool, to experience reverberating bass from the DJ until the wee hours.
  5. No way! Don't keep a balance! It can just be refunded to your card and it remains as a credit until you use your card and use up the credit.
  6. Chad - I wouldn't call it anti-social at all. Lots of people need that chill time alone - especially on a full ship. The least busy time is probably 10 am to 2 pm - and port days are good because most guests are off the ship. Most who post on this thread DO enjoy the interaction during the busier times.
  7. Yes, but does every band have a lead vocalist who was a finalist in the Voice and X-Factor? And only those with amazing breath control would dare follow that immediately with "I Will Always Love You"! Done flawlessly! Really enjoyed the entire show!
  8. We just got off Quantum's first cruise to Alaska and had the pleasure of watching a very talented band GODDESS, fronted by the finalist from both the Voice and X-Factor - Philippines, Monique Lualhati! It was a flawless performance paying tribute to the world's biggest female singing superstars. They've just started a six-month contract and it's a show not to be missed!
