Great to hear from you, R. I just had your card out yesterday and put it aside to have it handy to email you.
Please do. Would love to keep in touch with you both!

I can see on my laptop when there is mail in the junk folder and I clear it at least once a day after checking what's in it - no sign of anything from Operations.
I know that rncruiser received an email while we still onboard. She read it out at the time but, unfortunately, the 'entertainment' in TSL was so loud, I couldn't hear her so I'll have to email her to find out if what she got was a release form (I've been meaning to email her, anyway, to find out how she's doing).
I take it you didn't get a release form??
Hello Bea!
We in the US did not have to sign any release forms in order to receive our letter. Mine arrived by email on the 11th. It was detailed with the $ amount I could use towards next booking, it also gives us 2 years to use. I have read that some UK travelers are only given a year to use. 😒
The other email you are referring to was a survey re:" Compensation on board", I received that while we were still onboard. It does not specify what compensation it is referring to and given my situation I did not complete it.
Hoping you and Mr. B are well.

I think this is why I'm confused dex, even when sailing from Miami we've arrived curbside, handed our cases in at the YC tent to an MSC attired person and then off to check in. Elsewhere there's always been a YC or Aurea luggage drop off area at the terminal entrance. I feel uncomfortable giving our luggage to a non MSC person, especially with the reports that it may end up in the river!
When we arrive at YC tent in POM there is always a Porter taking the luggage and piling them onto the YC carts. Then we wait for a Butler to come and escort us through security. At least that has been our experience.

Great!
Hey, 2 questions...are you in the YC and what part of upstate NY? I spent 5yrs outside of Albany, 2yrs outside of Syracuse, and my son is a senior at Colgate.
Yes, we are in YC.
We are just south of Albany, in the Hudson River Valley.
Are you still in NY?

I gave it another shot, hopefully on the correct page this time.

We are booked on this too and it will be our 3rd time also :)
Two suggestions...
1) You might want to post this to the Roll Call forum
2) This is a Voyager Club cruise...if you book through the Voyager club the price is much lower and (assuming you are Silver or above) you'll get a $50pp credit.
,
I was trying to read the directions for starting a new Roll Call while starting it, must have missed a step. 😀
We are both Black card holders and did book the Voyager club rate.
Are you familiar with starting one? Maybe you would have a better outcome.
I searched and could not find one started.
Thank you.

My husband and I, along with another couple have just booked this cruise.
It will be our 3rd time on Seaside.

Sorry, 1 meal per Cabin, not per member.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm just curious as to how we each depict the staff and crew.
What did they do to go above and beyond? Everyone has different expectations.
Thank you!
For the most part, we were always greeted warmly, questions were answered, the Officers we met at various gatherings genuinely listened and responded. Those who waited on us in restaurants and bars anticipated our needs. The waiter made suggestions each night for what is good and what you might want to stay away from. If an order came out and you didn't seem to be enjoying it was noted and offers were made to bring something else.
Our room Steward was gracious if we showed up while he was cleaning, he was patient while we gathered a forgotten item or changed into bathing suits. All service came with a smile.
The only venue I felt was lacking in service/personality was the Venchi Chocolate bar. I wanted to order a "sundae" but she kept telling me it was too many scoops and I should just get something else, despite repeating that this is what we wanted.
I am fully aware that those who work on ships are tired, overworked and are not always treated with respect by the occasional passenger, so if I come away feeling pampered and special, I feel that is good service.

We were on 16 and had easiest access to the Concierge desk, the Top Sail and doors to exit the Yacht Club. During dinner on 18 we could hear the chairs being moved around and stacked so I expect the same must occur in the am over the cabins on 18.

... and, I just want to say that our cruise over-all was a tremendous success. MSC has the best captain on the seven seas - Captain Marco Masso. Capt. Marco gives you every opportunity to give your opinion on ANYTHING! I happened to disagree with the starting time of the M&M, but if I am one of the very few who wanted an earlier starting time - that's fine. Apparently 5 o'clock does not bother most people, and if so, that's OK!
RNCruiser was on my cruise, and I'm sure she will agree with me that this ship - and the cruise - were OUTSTANDING!
Totally agree, the ship, the staff were amazing. We never went anywhere or met anyone on the ship that did not go above and beyond. The Captain and his Officers were all warm and inviting.
I would prefer the M&M to start earlier, even if it were 4pm that would work.

Reading these comments about the M&M with MSC makes me feel like we choose the right line this time around. Our last 3-4 sailings I was the point for the CC M&M's. It did take some effort to get all the things necessary to have a well attended M&M. It looks as if MSC takes care of all the little details that are necessary to have a great M&M. All we have to do is sign up and show up. We are sailing on Divina in January (inside cabin) and Seaside in July (Yacht Club). Look forward to both M&M's.
I think you will be very happy with your choices. I also think MSC is really looking to set the bar high and IMO they succeeded.
Enjoy!

I agree, the party is over the top nice. In speaking with Officers they told us that they have Monitors that read all social media so in effect Shugey's comments are going directly MSC as intended.
The only MSC ships that are included in the M&M's are Seaside and Divina. I would like to see the Meraviglia included soon as they are also doing sailings within the U.S.

Read a couple of recent reviews where apparently they forgot to order Ribeye and Portherhouse cuts at Butchers Cut last week. How stupid is that?
I wonder and hope they informed their patrons before they sat down.
Just off today. The waiter informed us when he arrived at our table, they offered the Tomahawk steak at a discount. We were told item was unavailable to them for past 3 weeks, not an ordering issue this week.

Sorry you have to cancel.

Sorry! Seaside
Sorry you have to cancel, hope your surgery is successful and you can rebook soon!:(

So happy to see Eastern Caribbean dailies. Thank you!!

I am truly enjoying your review, very well written and informative. Thank you for the attention to detail.

Seaside, like Divina, has 8 square balcony rooms that are larger, and longer balcony. Very hard to book.

Curious, which cabins are they?

Hi there! Would never book through the cruise...too expensive and then one has to be limited by their schedule.
It is very easy to easy get an Uber to the hotel (around $9 each way) and go at your own leisure :)
Thank you, that is mostly how we go also, on our own, if you don't mind one other question? Did you book with Marriott prior or just arrive? Thank you again.
-
Was there in early April. Extensive damage to buildings and many hotels closed. For a beach day, would recommend going to the Marriott Stellaris Resort & Casino.
If you're more adventurous, I talked with an excursion manager who said the rainforest was open as well (however that takes 1 hour+ to drive to).
Good Morning, did you book the Marriott through the ship or do it on your own. If on your own how did you get there? Thank you

Welcome back and Thank you for taking time to write down some thoughts. Positivity is wonderful!

So sorry to hear, not only for his family/friends but to all on the ship effected. Not a nice way to end a vacation, with heavy hearts.

Loved your review and your comments to others!
I'm always amazed by the empirical declarations of posters who decide what is and is not important.
It's such a bother when facts get in the way of opinions!
Thank you.Yep, it's a social media influenced behavior that has evolved and transformed all other forums of communications (stock and business forums and blogs, as well as this forum). It's today's society.
Again, we started with the overview that the FORMAT of how we would make the presentation started with the POINTS - Great and Good; then moved to POINTS - Other (and the presentation contained a reasonable discussion of the first item, reception pre-embarkation, actually experienced). It was not presented as a "complaint."
There are more that we're setting up for today still under POINTS - Other; by default, what is just a bit below POINTS - Great and Good.
WAIT when we get to the HOT BUTTON ISSUES. :o
It appears to be a good idea for us to quote the introduction of the FORMAT and the general information of how HAPPY WE WERE WITH OUR RATED BEST CRUISE.
Based on your cruising history in you signature, your input is appreciated. We LEARNED, and continue TO LEARN, from cruisecrtic members (pre-cruise selection, pre-cruise and even meeting them now on the cruise) so much about the industry, cruise lines and individual ships, itineraries, excursions, etc.
Again, thank you.
Agree and Agree. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, insights and expiriences.
