I cannot agree more with your thoughts about Los Lobos! We sailed August 12-19 in the Garden Villa, and Los Lobos was by far our favorite restaurant for food and service. I'm still craving the delicious tableside guacamole. It was hands down the best I have ever eaten! Glad you enjoyed it too!

Momo24...you are more than welcome to come up and take a little tour. I would love to see your aft penthouse, too! Maybe we can continue the conversation on our roll call to see if anyone has pursued the "cabin crawl" that was being discussed there.

We will be in the Garden Villa on the Dawn this Friday, and asked to upgrade from Smirnoff Vodka to Gray Goose. We were told there would be a charge of $40 to do so, but were offered a list of alternate vodkas (Absolut, Kettel One, Svedka, etc) that we could replace it with at no extra charge.

We wondered if there were speakers for music on the patio and sundeck. We were hoping there were.

My DH called last Thursday. We sail this Friday (so one week and one day out). We were booked in the 2 bedroom family suite. We were granted the upsell to the GV. We didn't think we had a chance, but we got it!

Thank you all so much for all of your positive comments! My family and I just cannot wait. We are down to counting hours until we can leave for Boston :)

That is awesome!! Just the two of you? That is so much room for 2 people. my husband and I were in the Deluxe Owners Suite in May and that was so much room for us.

No, our two teenage sons will be with us as well, so everyone will have their own bedroom.

Wow... congrats!! Was this a new booking, a week out from sail away? If so, did you get any perks? Or was this an Upsell from an existing booking?

Thank you! My DH called the upsell dept. He didn't believe there would be any chance that they would grant his request. We were originally booked in the 2 bedroom family suite with balcony. Surprisingly, she said YES! We paid an additional $1,500 each for he and I. We were fine with that!

I promise, I'll post pictures when we return!

We will be in the Grand Villa (14000) in less than a week on the Dawn. So darn excited! I've unsuccessfully attempted to search for suite guest menus for breakfast and lunch at Cagney's, or maybe it is now Modernos? Does anyone have these that they might post? Also, when sailing in the villa with the UBP, will the butler bring alcoholic drinks to your room with room service? (I realize there will already be a choice of 6 bottles already there :)

My DH JUST booked the garden villa today for the August 12 sailing! I am excited beyond words! We sailed the Dawn last July in an inside cabin....I think it may be a bit different than that! :D I would love to see more updated (after refurb) pictures if anyone has them!

they will not...the upsell is only good for one room then you can cancel and have the other member's moved to that room.....I got upsell to Garden Villa for 5 from 2 bedroom suite and had 2 others in family suite, we got nothing for their family suite. I am trying to upsell for upcoming one and have an aft balcony and studio and asked, they said all I can do is cancel studio and move person to new room

Your post gives me a bit of hope. We are booked in a 2 bedroom family suite and would LOVE the upsell fairy to offer the GV....had read that NCL would no longer offer upsells on the GV. It sounds like this may have changed? Hope so! :)

I agree, when I load that page I don't see the wording that fonrouge82 found, but it is in the page source so maybe it's displayed like that on some platforms/devices. If you Google it, a lot of other TA sites have picked up the incorrect wording, so you never know, you might actually find a TA that feels they should honor what they advertise, even it it's a mistake originating with NCL…

This was taken directly from the ncl.com explanation of the 5 promotions:

Shore Excursion Credit

Choose this option and each stateroom receives a free $50 USD per port Shore Excursion credit, maximum of $200. For Bermuda Cruises, receive three individual $50 USD Shore Excursion credits for every day you're in port. So feel free to snorkel, shop, tour, parasail, swim, or just hang out; and let us pay for your shore excursions.

My question has been answered, but wanted to clarify where I was quoting the information from. :)

I think it's not confusing to you because you already know what it is. :)

 

Even what you've said is confusing "3 for every day you are in Bermuda. You are there for three days..." which would mean 9 - "3 for every day" multiplied by "You are there for three days"

 

It should say "1 for every day you are in Bermuda" for a total of 3. :)

Well said, Wendy! Thank you for your support on this! I had no idea asking this question would bring about such responses. I have learned so much from others' questions on this forum, I assumed it would be acceptable to ask one as well. Apparently not so in the eyes of a few. :eek:

The credits cannot be used for prebooking either. :(

 

We're also in a suite in November and planning to do the 12 Metre Regatta again, so we had checked. (Fifty bucks is fifty bucks! ;) )

Let's be reasonable, it's only one year old info. Anyway, glad to see that they fixed the per port vs. per night issue on the Bermuda cruise. I do wonder if it's the best value given the other options (at least from last year's promo).

Honestly, because we are sailing in a suite, we automatically received the 4 promo offers, so it's not a huge deal to us. I was asking for clarification because we are attempting to pre-book a shore excursion for our family of four, and if we are receiving $50, rather than $150, it may sway our decision as to which we choose.

Anyway...I was confused by this on NCL's website today:

"For Bermuda Cruises, receive three individual $50 USD Shore Excursion credits for every day you're in port.

A bit misleading as 3 for every day would equal $150.

I'm still confused about the shore excursion credit in Bermunda :confused:

I called Priceline today, as that is who I booked the cruise through. I was told it was ONE $50 credit. However, on NCL's website, it says (3) $50 vouchers PER DAY....

My question is...can I combine them for ONE shore excursion, or can I only use the $150 per day despite it only being one port.

I hope someone has used this in Bermuda and can clarify for me.

Mamatama, I too would love current pictures of the refurbished suites! I thought your question was very reasonable. We are booked in an SC for the first time 8/12. I, too, will happily post pictures. :)

I apologize if this has already been answered, but can someone tell me the earliest time that suite guests are allowed to embark? This will be our second time on the Dawn, but first in a suite, and would like to arrive close to boarding time.
