  1. Mare10: This is such a fantastic hotel for an embarkation from Canada Place. It was simply wonderful to call the bell captain's desk to ask that a bellman pick up our luggage from our room. When we checked out we used the elevator which takes you directly to the cruise terminal and then just walked by the folks delivering their luggage to the porters. Didn't see our luggage again until it was delivered to our stateroom. Really is a wonderful perk when staying at the Pan Pacific, plus the hotel itself was wonderful.

I'm really looking forward to our stay there! I feel like I got a good price too! They had a senior bed & breakfast rate which seemed good for such a wonderful hotel. :):)

  2. I have seen Princess docked on both sides of Canada Place. We embarked on the Grand from the east side in April this year -- when she came back from Hawaii 15 days later she was docked on the west side. No other cruise ships either time , so don't know what determines where they will come alongside.

Thank you. I'm really looking forward to staying right there this time!

  3. I went a few years ago and booked with Southeast Kayaks... The Orca Cove tour. It was fantastic! I had never kayaked before but loved it and recommend them! We're leaving next week with the family and I booked us with them again! This is the first time for most of them to Alaska and first time kayaking. I'm so happy to get to experience this again.

  4. I'm hoping someone could help with this question. We're looking at booking a Ca Coastal Cruise on the Crown. On Deck 8 there are ocean view cabins midship that say "obstructed view". Seems like I've heard that sometimes the view is still fine. We're trying to stay midship but would like to try oceanview rather than a balcony.

Anyone stayed in any that they might recommend?

    Thank You!

  5. We'll be cruising out of Houston next February on a Western Caribbean cruise. Trying to get some info as we're not familiar with the area. We hope to fly into Hobby the day before the cruise. Any suggestions for a hotel with a shuttle service? Thank you!

  6. Well, there's a 6-day Coastal from LA to Vancouver on Crown Princess that is going to San Francisco, Astoria and Victoria on April 30th, 2016.

Right... that one has been listed for quite some time. We'll do that unless they list a fall date that works for us. Always like 7 days rather than 6.... even one day makes a difference!

    :)

  7. It seems that they are being released bit by bit. I'm wondering if they are waiting until the "last minute" to see how this year is selling before they schedule them for next, since they had to heavily discount coastals last year?

I don't know what they're doing but you have a good point. Also for the Wine Country Coastal they don't even have a spring 2016 one listed. Sure hope they aren't doing away with that cruise since we're interested!

  8. I know several cruises have been posted for 2016. Does anyone know why Princess hasn't posted a Wine Country Coastal? They have listed one California Coastal from LA to Vancouver BC for April 2016 but not the fall.

Thank you! I'm anxious to start planning.

  9. Marilyn,

I've been reading this thread too but figure " it is what it is" and I certainly won't be looking for issues. We have a great bunch on our roll call and I'm sure we will have a lot of fun.

See you at the hotel or on board the ship.

I agree with you Jackie! We do have an amazing group of folks...... We'll have a blast! See you very soon. 😊

  10. I should emphasize that while the Grand is my least favorite Princess ship, I'm still having a great cruise and enjoying myself. I don't sweat minor problems. As said, I haven't seen any mold.

I've taken cruises on a lot of ships on different lines and seen much worse problems elsewhere. I've got photos of mildew literally covering two sides of the shower on the Prinsendam, torn and dirty cabin furniture, etc. While it affects me, I can always have a good or great cruise.

Pam... I'm glad to hear this comment. I've read your posts for a long time on cc and appreciate your advice. We'll be on the ship when you return. I followed your roll call for tips since this will be our first cruise to Hawaii and first time on the Grand! Almost wish I hadn't read this thread but I will keep an open mind and plan to have a fantastic time!

  11. We had E728 on the Star to Hawaii in February and loved the minisuite and large covered balcony. I enjoyed the balcony every day as we were blessed with good weather. Other than a couple of nights where we had noise from the Vista Lounge, it was the perfect cabin. You made the correct decision to decline the upgrade. I also would echo the suggestion to have your TA mark your cabi "do not upgrade". Have a fabulous cruise.

Thank you for posting. It's great to hear from someone who actually had that same cabin! I am so looking forward to our 1st Hawaii cruise. Sure hope we're blessed with good weather like you had. We go March 4th out of LA. I do plan to take all advice including make sure we have a guarantee to stay in the cabin we chose!

    Marilyn :)
