I must say myself that we go to the solarium as an escape from children. I certainly don't have anything against kids, but sometimes a time out area is appreciated. On a recent cruise we had a women bring her daughter in and when asked to leave used the excuse that "she wasn't annoying anyone". That may have been true enough, but how do you justify one child being allowed and not others? Jmho

We went from emerald to diamond on the second leg of our last b2b.
I visited the la on the first day of the second cruise who as soon as I gave her my name said she had just done our upgrade and to go down to the guest services to have our new cards issued. No probs at all.

Yep, yep yep. And the problem is? Although my DH might roll his eyes as well, I know for a fact he loves loves loves the information I get from the wonderful people on these boards, but more importantly, he loves the fact that I book such wonderful holidays. 4 more sleeps :)

Another vote for the Esplanade. We stayed there last year and found it very convenient with a free bus which stops right across the road. If you have the chance look at going across to Rottnest Island for a day trip. The ferries leave right from the port and you can jump on the free bus if you don't want to walk over there (about a 10 minute walk).

Thanks. I had to have 3 vertebrae in my neck fused last year so was wondering if I should carry a doctors certificate as we will also be going through several airports on this trip as we'll.

Hi

Does anyone know or have experience as to whether the ship and airport scanners will go off if you have titanium implanted? :confused:

We picked up the shuttle from the airport which from memory was quite reasonably priced. Transfer to the port we hired a driver. It is quite a way. You really shouldn't miss Rome though. An amazing city.

April 27 2014 Hawaii to vancouver then b2b Vancouver via Alaska, followed by land trip to the Rockies then Las Vegas :D

We have done both ways and must say IMO cruising home is much more relaxing

We have just finalised our tour so hoping we have done the right thing as my DH doesn't want to drive.

 

We are on Radiance sailing the b2b from Hawaii then Alaska at end of April (yippee). After the cruise finishes in Vancouver, we have booked on a 4 day/3night coach trip with Brewsters from Vancouver (the Rocky Mountaineer timetable didn't suit ours), stopping o/night in Kelowna then through to Banff via Lake Louise and finishing at Calgary airport, then flying to Las Vegas for 3 nights before heading back home. 97 days to go :D

Really looking forward to following. If you run into our friends on board be sure to say hello - Jeff and Lorraine from Australia - are travelling from Barcelona to Singapore with you and are a load of laughs:D

Geoff and Sharon off again on Radiance (yee-haa) in March for the top end cruise followed by a few days in Broome on the way home. Can't wait. :D

Sydney to Honolulu on Rhapsody, April 2012. Had so much fun coming over last September on Radiance and couldn't resist the chance to go back the other way.:D
