Yes I am just wonderding why these 5 people were allowed on the plane. They had to be be sick before the got on plane if you listen to the passenger on the plane talking to Boston reporters. They reported that they were sick the whole flight

If i was afraid to travel because of some trouble in far off places I would never leave my home. I would not go cheer the Boston Marathon because it was borned or even go into Boston. Cruise somewhere because of terroiest. I refuse to let them win. If it happens it happens. there is nothing I can do about it. But I feel silly if that wonderful cruise comes back with no incendent and everyone on board had a wonderful time, while I stay home scared. Not going to happen to me. I would be careful to cruise where they are having problems. But cruiseing to Alaska, South America, Caribbean, and others. I am more worried about the Noro Virus due to a medicial condition..

Weather has been all over from warm to cold. Had to put heat on. Its been cold at night. IN 30's. Its nice the weather always gives my town how cold/warm and such. If you going this week or next colors are peaking. Early than usual dress in layers. Also rain gear. I live South of Boston

What drives me nuts.. Outside the MDR for main (late) seating.. People standing outside waiting. Here comes someone moves thought the line and enters the MDR and then comes out of MDR with staff beside him. The staff is cleaning up its 10 minutes before the door opens.. Do these people we standing in line waiting to see Santa? But I guess they think they are special and they don't have to wait like the rest of us.

I wonder how it works with the HAL facebook page roll calls - I understand HAL organises a M&G for embarkation day, but no idea what they provide.

Thanks, the breakfast in Pinnacle is the most attractive aspect to me. So far I have been unwilling to pay the freight for a Neptune Suite, may do it some day, time will tell.

that is one I don't care for. I am not a big breakfast eater. I use room servuce. Eat it in my room.

Is there any site that shows a partical cruise. I would love to do the whole cruise. but as a retire I don't make that much. If the price was right I love to do the Florida to Sydney.. Also this would be a solo.

When I refer to brochure price I am referring to the price in an actual brochure. I'm not speaking of the website prices. There is one website that I refer to often. They list brochure prices and "their“ prices. I have no idea where they get that price. It's much, much higher than the hal website. I have to ask, why would you pay a higher rate than hals website?

Hi I was knew to cruising I paid the broucer price Not web site price.I did know better. I had a broucher and called Holland America and book theeay price. Got nothing extra. I change and got a TA and ggt OBC as a solo you are at mercy of cruise line.

No one, yes no one pays the brochure fare. You've mentioned this over and over about your savings. I think most people are aware. There is another poster on this board that goes on and on about booking private tours and how that's the only way to go. Frankly it will be nice not to have to listen to it for the next month. What's really amazing is that this poster books the carbon copy of a hal tour. No thx. I like have an easy contact regarding my cruise. That is worth the price to me. So what if it's cheaper. Worse yet if I get this "discount" in the form of an obc.

Thank you for your reports. I have done this cruise 3 times in four years. I was on Amsterdam this past June-July.. I will wait a few years and return again. There are more places to see.

The only really important rule about clothing is to always wear clean underwear - in case you are in an accident and get taken to the hospital.

Make sure that there are no holes either. What will the ER personal think.

ben watching this site for a few years.. Last July there were over 20 bears at the (falls) site.. Plus many cubs. that did not make it through the winter. we now have chats with the rangers

Nothing goes in my suitcase that is not in a zip top bag with my address on it. Inside what is in the bag. My shoes are also in those bags you get newspaper in(delivered). I put all small stuff in them. Extra meds in case I lose my pills. sharp stuff cissors and such. I then out the shoe in a large sock and then plastic bag. Also has my adress in it.I use those bags you let the air out of. Never had a problem when I asked the steward to use his vacumn. A nice tip helps. On top of my suitcase is where I am going hotel , ship. flip over My address. I put the pahe in those plastic sheets. I also line my suitcase with plastic bafbottom and top.. Had a friend open her suitcase only to fine all her clothes were ruined by someone's broken bottel of wine. Plus I heard suitcases are not water proff. So if your bag sits outsside in rain you know what will happen. I am also a bag lady. (not pocket book. I loves bags and boxes.

Love your reports. I was wondering if the coupon book that was in your cabin had a 100.00 coupon off any excusion. I thought there was one but before I call HAl I want to make sure there was a coupon.

Grew up in Boston I am 68 this white thiing also meant pocketbooks (the list is long) white shoes. You would stand out if you wore white.. Plus never white slacks shorts. But also back then women wore hats and white gloves when they went out. Men wore hats NOT BASEBALL CAPS. John Kennedy started the No men wearing hats. Men always tip thier hats to women or friends always removed them when they entered a building. forgot about the pattern leather shoes. Ladies my age remember your first pr of nylons? I never forget how excited I was to get mine. As a new teenager I was thin and womans nylons with that stupid line up the back of your leg. they fet me now but it would take years for them to fit me then. Keeping that darn line stright was inpossible for a teen

I fel the same way. Hal is going to lose me to another line and I really don't want to leave. But If I cannot check prices and let them pick out a cabin I do not want then I will start looking elsewhere. I want to do something in January/February but My sister in law was just diagnosed with cancer so I have not booked. we are waiting for surgeons to plan the surgery. she has it in her jaw and mupulitbe surgeons will be doing the 7 hr surgery. Please some good vibes and prayers for her.

I hate this site. I want to plana trip in Jan/feb I am very picky in a cabin. I hate they picl a cabin for you Most I know I would hate, I like the middle of the ship. I really think Holland america is pushing away thier passengers.

Why is it such a problem for pax who do not want to dress up go eat somwonw else? I just started to cruise the last few years I love to cruise and now I like to dress up. I do change every night into a nice outfit. I have my formal wear I wear on cruises. Why do people want to spoil it for those of us who like to dress up. Its not like you can't find a place to eat. My last few cruises I have seen one man abuse a young waiter on formal night he did not have a jacket. The poor man (not officer) was being abused. finally the man said he had a jacket it was a outsidie jacket and he was seated. I got up enought nerve to say something to him. But I might as well talked to the wall. He was happy he was able to get in and was smug about it. So go down without your jacket and those wonderful baseball caps you wear everywhere and abuse the poor guy at the door of the mdr. But leave formal nights to those who like to dress up.
