Flew out of Wisconsin the day of the cruise to NOLA. American Airlines. We sat on the tarmack for 1 1/2 hours before we could get to the gate. We missed our transfer to NOLA---was able to get on a later one that landed at 4:15pm but there were 8 people in total that were affected and we actually had a NCL rep in baggage claim to meet us. She paid for the taxi for all of us to get to the port. I think we boarded close to 6pm but the Captain held the ship for us. 🙂 Too much stress though. I will always fly in the day before.

Have you received anything yet? I was booked with CAS (discounted Total Rewards cruise) and it seems like their process is different than people that are booked through a direct NCL agent. I had a family member that canceled the same cruise and received an immediate email. Contacted CAS later yesterday afternoon and they said there wouldn't be an email...so how do we have proof of what is happening? They actually said call back Monday...the cruise is leaving Sunday. As of this morning, the cruise is still 'active' on my online account.
I was told that I should receive an email in 24-48 hours confirming the cancellation. This was through CAS. The email that the PCC sent to CAS was effective 3/10 so I am not worried.

I got my cancellation email immediately. So sad to have had to cancel. Just decided to be cautious and let things settle.
I was told 24-28 hours also but that the paperwork would have TODAY'S date on it.
I also was leaving on the 15th.

Well was on hold for 40 minutes. I called the CAS number but somehow I got a PCC---so then they transferred me back to CAS and on hold again. UGHHH!

I am cancelling my cruise this Sunday out of Tampa. I am not afraid of the virus, I just don't want to be stuck some place for 14 days.

Saturday 3/14. I am on right now, but since I have a casino reservation, they are telling me I have to.....ugh! The call cut off in the middle of talking to the person. It was their system and the rep even said "here we go again".
How did they end up refunding you or putting what you paid to a future cruise?

My Birthday celebration will be in Grand Cayman!! I think we are just going to Royal Palms and hanging out. I hope to start packing tonight!:confused:

I LOVED this excursion. You do walk 4-5 miles (or run) throughout the race so wear comfortable shoes! It was really neat to go into San Miguel and see things you don't on the main road.

I vote for the Amazing Cozumel Race. It was a LOT of fun. You don't have to get in the water if you don't want to. They do not require it.

I think 10am would be fine. I usually get to the terminal between 10-10:30.

When are you flying to New Orleans? We are flying out of Philly Thanksgiving morning - staying at the Sheraton Hotel.
We Will be at Hilton Riverside early Sat.

Smog- I believe you are correct. The OBC that NCL offers is non refundable and cannot be used in the casino. If you purchase OBC yourself, that is refundable and can be used in the casino.
Anyone else concur?

You probably should call your CAS rep. One option may be to purchase $500 of OBC. I would think that could be used in the casino. Not a 100% sure though.

I believe you will save $20 if you book online before the cruise.

I would just book the shuttle. I have seen cabs lined up there and some of them are minivans but you never know. Have you looked into Uber? Request an XL one.
Hope that helps!

Myself and 2 others will be on this cruise. We will see you the 1st night at the meeting. Ron, Peter and Justin. ::cool::cool:

IF everything goes smoothly, I have been off as early as 7:30. If customs holds up clearing the ship then you may not be able to start getting off till after 8. Also, if it is foggy coming back up the river that can delay you as well.

The Spa hours on the Dawn ( was just on in Dec) were 8am-10pm except the last day they closed at 8pm.

If you are talking about the really nice Chinese Lady, her name was Chris!
I did not see her when I was on the Dawn in Dec '16.
Hopefully she will be on in April '17.

I am boarding the Dawn on Sunday. Reading this week has made me even more excited to go on her again!

Were they enforcing the single-sex restriction in the relaxation rooms off to the side? There always seem to be (mixed-sex) couples lounging in there.
I have been on the Dawn 4 times now and have never seen mixed-sex in the relaxation rooms. I, myself, use it on some afternoons for a nap. It is a nice quiet place!
