  1. Very recently a significant change has come about for those of us booking in £'s from the UK "WHILE ON-BOARD ONLY"

If you book a cruise onboard now it now comes with a new condition that you can move it to another booking without penalty and take the benefits you had with the orignal booking with you to a new one.

This change however has to be made before final payment (56 days in UK).

So therefore if you have reason to cancel or change your booking, you now can.

I've just made the most of this benefit while on RF last week and booked several cruises for 16/17 and took the OBC for the cruise I was on.

But I stress this is ONLY for bookings made on-board.

  2. According to Alejandro Tasos tried to get him on his schedule. Tasos told me that he really loves working with Alejandro so I'm very surprised that he will be moving to another ship. Be on Connie with Tasos for the TA and will confirm.

We were on Infinity Transatlantic last fall and Constellation trans last spring with Alejandro. Hoping to see him again on Constellation transatlantic next month. He is one of the best Cruise Directors.

Alejandro will definitely be on EQ for his next contract.

He is an amazing CD and Tasos is an amazing Capt, but to have 2 of the most influential positions at the top of their game on the same ship, then...... something has to give.

Its all about the ships ratings and guest feedback etc as we all know, but not all ships perform the same, so decisions like these have to be made.

  3. Had to smile at last item.

For information, we had a very challenging tendering operation in Ibiza, the second last day of the previous Equinox cruise. The staff captain was literally very hands on, assisting passengers on and off the tenders.

I noticed that in between each tender he applied sanitizer not only to hands but forearms as well!

I have to add the whole X senior team did an amazing job in Ibiza, given the sea conditions for tendering. A lot of crew got off to the tender station (on land) which was way out of contact signal with the ship and were having to relay messages to and from the ship with updates on numbers, conditions and any safety concerns.

The operation was a success and only a slight delay departing from Ibiza.

I couldn't believe just how much moaning was taking place in the line, yes it was between 1 - 2 hour wait, but you wouldn have certainly been moaning if you were injured during tendering.

I remember getting a helping hand from the Hotel Director with my step from the tender boat to the ship platform. The Head of the Hotel operation for the ship helping people back onto the ship and on the front line, true dedication.

Celebrity can't control the sea conditions, nor did they have any control of the storm that hit the town of Civi' on embarkation day and wiped out the electric across the WHOLE TOWN.

To actually hear "can't you take the electric from the ship?" i was just astounded.

This cruise was truly amazing, I met so great people, some from previous cruises and some coming with us on a future one (RF TA)

The crew were all outstanding and we were looked after tremendously as per norm.

As for the GI bug, it was a very small % of the 3128 passengers on board and in order to quickly contain it the "deep clean" operation was ordered for Barcelona.

Those getting on at BCN really have nothing to worry about.

  4. Happy to answer any questions people may have about the ship

nice little Vlog my friend - obviously there was a lot to get around which I don't really think anyone can do in 48 hours. As you described, and I think lots of others have also said the same, its a mix of Oasis Class and Solstice Class.

I'm loyal to X and I'm not quite sure as this would take my over to Royal.

Loved the Solstice feel, but a little too much going on.

Anyway - here's a small collection (from a large number) of photos I took while onboard for 4 days

  5. On Constellation right now 4-7-15

    Master Nikolas Christodoulakis

    Staff Captain Nikolaos Zacharopolous

    Chief Engineer Nikolaos Politsis

    Guest Relations Manager Sinisa Micetic

    Hotel Director Oswald Harbrecht

    Cruise Director Alejandro Tortorelli

    Executive Chef Andy Bouchard

    Captain's Club host Graeme Kelleher

Michael's Club concierge Leo Bianu/ Gareth Watkins

Leo Bianu goes on vacation after this sailing. Gareth who is onboard will have the next several month rotation. Raffle Bernard is onboard and starts again for Thursday's transatlantic. Graeme just replaced Lionel about 10 days ago and will be on during his vacation

Have a great cruise Kelcie !!

  6. Do you think the captain will be on the Constellation in April to take the ship over to Rome? We met Tasos on the Solstice (when the ship was a under a year old); he was the staff captain. We will be on the April 9th sailing and curious if he will be on the ship then.

Tasos has been onboard for several weeks already and very much doubt he'll be Capt for the crossing, but I'll ask him to confirm.

  7. I have been told that she left Celebrity.

Others may have further news, perhaps on Royal or shoreside.

Be interesting to see now that Lisa has gone to X whether she takes the HD's she took from RCI back to X.

What's also interesting to seeing the new staff coming through the ranks and it will be good to see some of them get to HD.

  8. great to see simona has been promoted

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Simona hasn't been promoted - she's standing in for a few days while there is a Capts & HD's conference (on Constellation)

Mark ZELLER is taking over as HD in this next day or two.

Simona is going back to GRM, as Alana is moving over to CS, in fact Alana has already left the EC....

I'm looking forward to Christmas and New Year onboard EC

  9. we were also on this cruise and it was amazing, and echo the review from Sue.

The standard of food had risen greatly, the cleanliness of the ship was outstanding and the crew members we met, well.... made our overall cruise experience by far one of the best.

This was reflected in our feedback when we got home.

Shame about the -7 in New York, but it made it all the more interesting and more to talk about. Especially for those who braved the top of the Rock and ESP ! #Crazy #brrrrr

We were in a large group and all re-booked the Reflection for the TA next October.

Roll on 21st Dec when we're back on Eclipse for Christmas and New Year in the Caribbean #HotHotHot !

  10. We will be on 19th Oct cruise. Does anyone know if Sue Denning is back on board? Perry Grant? Tenors of Rock? Captain's Club host?

    Thanks

Sue should be back and Perry is definitely onboard (check him on on FB)

I'm counting down for the TA on 9th Nov - could you possible post a photo of the list of senior officers once you get onboard (a cruise before me)

I'd be very grateful - thanks

  11. Interesting. We knew those 2 great bartenders as Peter and "Boo". They were on the maiden transatlantic crossing of Equinox with us and also on our Silhouette Greek Isles Cruise.

    Jane

funny Jane - we know them as Peter and "Tin Tin" (Putu)

Strange how they adopt different names.

Anyway - spoke with Peter yesterday and he's going to ML next contract (Feb 15) and Putu is definitely going to SI.

  12. Two of our favorite bartenders on the Solstice Class ships are Peter & Putu. Has anyone seen them lately? They used to work as a team.

So many of our favorites on Celebrity seem to be gone ... either jumped ship, or jumped cruise line. Disappointing, but all good things change eventually.

This Peter (middle) and Putu (right) ?? (Richard on the left - currently on Reflection)

I've just been with Peter in June on SI and FaceBook friends with all of them. Always the best way to keep in touch with them

    Spoke with Putu only yesterday.

Peter is currently on Silhouette until November.

Putu has just gone home on vacation from the Eclipse and will be retuning to Silhouette, and will be back together with Peter again for a few months.

All the flairs are getting moved around - Peter is going to EQ next year .

  13. What changes have been made to the CC's being in charge of the Captain's Table seating? Is it not their choice anymore? I know there's a 'pecking order', but they used to have some discretion in the matter.

Interested in your "pecking order" order comment.

The CC host is in charge of finding suitable guests to join the Capts table, and most of the time work with the host of the table for the night in question.

If there is a pecking order I must be up there somewhere #lol - I've been on 19 tables so far over the years.

  14. I am trying to find out where CC host, Chandru, will be in December. When I saw him in April he said he was going home for vaca and would be on the Silhouette next. I know he didn't leave the Reflection as planned, but don't know if he is still there or what is happening. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Chandru has gone to future cruise

  15. Just back from Silhouette yesterday in Venice....

Christophe (HD) leaves on 23rd July for a "new" HD coming from MSC

Donna (CC Host) leaves on 17th July to go to Equinox for 2 months to cover the Presidents Cruise - Marlene is said to be going to SI.

It also appeared that the GRM changed yesterday too - looked like Ana took over, but couldn't confirm as I'd left by then.
