  1. Thanks to 1025cruise who also enlightened me!

I do hate that we don't get the statement before we leave the ship anymore.  I wonder if it's because there's less disputes if passengers don't see it for a week.  I wouldn't mind having it emailed if it was done promptly.

We did have a lovely cruise.

I am a bit confused as I have never seen Princess charge to one’s checking account.  Perhaps they are charges on your credit card?
Did you perhaps book another cruise onboard  .. the $99 deposit pp may explain the $198 charge.
Were these charges on your post cruise summary of onboard charges they sent via email?  If so, it should outline was these charges are for.

I use my debit card for cruising, so they have my checking account number.  The charges I'm concerned about were separate from the folio and not on the folio.  We've never been to the spa and had one specialty dining, which I was billed for before the cruise.

  3. I disembarked from a southern Caribbean cruise over a week ago.  In addition to my onboard account charge, Princess has placed 4 other charges on my checking account.  These were charged on the final 2 days of the cruise, which were sea days.  The amounts are the following:

    $118.28

    $198

    $21.24/possibly a bar chg.

$74.34/possibly shuttle, although the rep who booked us said shuttle chg. was included in price of the cruise

Except for just a few drinks, we spent nothing on those days and the "folio" seems complete for the other days.  Does anyone have any idea what these charges could be?  I can't get any info from Princess; spent literally hours on the phone and no one there knows anything, was told to email which I did last week no response so far.  I am beyond frustrated.

  4. We like the beach, but we're having beach days on several other islands.  I'd like to try snorkeling.  Or maybe walk around sightseeing.  Just wondering what others enjoy there.

  5. Husband and I stopped in Cozumel a few years ago and, to be honest we were unimpressed.  We took an excursion to Chananook (sp?) Park and swam with the dolphins and it was ok, but not something we feel like repeating.  We're not into ruins.  So what should we do there?  Thanks for any suggestions.

  6. After thinking a lot here's the conclusion I've come to.  Our biggest gripe is that no one seemed to know anything.  We were given incorrect information repeatedly.  Others were too.  And that is a big deal.  Absence of mints on the pillow and lava cake are small disappointments perhaps because they must save money somewhere.  Understandable.  But staff should always be trained to have correct information and if they don't know to direct guests to someone who does know.  And I'm seeing this complaint across the board.

  7. We just finished our third cruise Princess to Alaska.  It was ok but somewhat disappointing.  So we're thinking of switching lines.  I'm perusing CC for a new cruise line.  Looking at Holland America.  Their general rating is only .1 higher than Princess.  Celebrity is a bit higher but not a lot.  So just for reference I checked out Regent and the rating is also just average!  I look at the reviews and everyone everywhere is complaining about the same things:  service and food are hit or miss, little communication,  staff knows nothing, etc. etc.  So my question is are we all just spoiled remembering our precovid cruises better than they really were?  Or are all the lines going downhill?

  8. My husband and I are booked on 10 day Star Princess cruise to Alaska from San Fran on 7/2.  This cruise is round trip.  I'm hearing that San Francisco is a no, but haven't heard from Princess yet.  If Seattle is ok, would we have a chance of switching to that?  The cruise is paid for, but thankfully we hadn't purchased air yet.  Wondering what anyone is hearing or knows?  Thanks.

  9.

Depends.  Are you or anyone in your group “high risk “ according to CDC, U.S. State Department, NIH/Dr. Fauci?  (See their websites)

Well, I am 59 and my husband is 60.  Sounds like we are considered "elderly" in some circles LOL.  My husband has glaucoma; not sure if that is an "underlying condition" that they refer to?

  10. We have an Alaska cruise booked and paid for in July, sailing from San Francisco.  Should we be worried?  We bought the travel insurance, so wondering if we should be ducking out now while we could still get most of the money back.  I believe the amount you can recover goes down as time goes by right?

  11. Do you have to pay for the brewed coffee at IC individually if you don't have a coffee card? I don't care about the fancy coffee drinks, just good, strong coffee, better than the buffet coffee. I don't drink enough of the fancy drinks to make buying a coffee card sensible, unless it's for the straight coffee too.

  12. My travel summary says to arrive at 2:30 for a 4:00 sail. The reason I have a problem with this is that we want to sign up for the Ultimate Ship Tour. You can't request it until you are on board, and they only accept a small number of people, so we would have no chance if others boarded at noon. What time should we arrive then?

  13. I still have a coffee card purchased on our last cruise, which was 8 yrs. ago. Didn't use all many punches because I found out the regular brewed coffee didn't require a punch. They said I could use it on a subsequent cruise, but do you think they would honor it after this long or will I need to purchase a new one?

  14. Thanks. Great information. My husband was in the Navy, stationed on a ship and this is something I have always wanted to surprise him with. He has glaucoma and is losing his sight, so seems this is the time. Hope we can get on the list, as he may not have another chance. I just want to be sure it is on a sea day, as we have reserved excursions for port days.

  15. We are aboard the Caribbean Princess next month. Does anyone know anything about the Ultimate Ship Tour? The website mentions it, but very little info. Do they offer it on every cruise? How do we find out which day it would be (sea day?)? How much does it cost? Is it worth the $$? How do you register for it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  16. My husband and I are planning a second cruise soon (West Carrib). Our first was in 2010 on Princess, and we don't have any desire to try a different line. For us, Princess is the right price, we appreciate the elegant décor, it has the bars and restaurants and spaces we want without wasting (in our opinion) space on ice skating rinks, bowling alleys, etc. The service was great and so was the food. Also, I am destination-oriented, so uninterested in ships so big they can't enter many ports. We were 50 years old for our last cruise, which put us at the younger end, but we found our older tablemates to be such well-traveled folks and really interesting. We saw very few kids and the ones we did observe were incredibly well-behaved.
