We loved Montero bay. Took the chukka river kayaking excursion. Very stable inflatable type kayak. Great guides and the photographer runs down the bank for awhile taking pictures. You get to pick about 15 pics for $20. Really fun day.

We did the Mayan ruins and river Wallace and really enjoyed it. Saw birds, iguanas, howler monkeys and manatees. The river ride is very cooling on hot days. The ruins were interesting and be sure to climb to the top of the temple. Congrats!

I just finished a hilarious book called 'The Saga of the Sailing Hillbillies'. I cannot remember the couple who wrote it but it could not be that difficult to find. They are from Kentucky and decide to buy a sailboat and travel the Caribbean. He thinks he has researched and knows enough after reading 2 books on basic sailing.
Also found one called 'First We Quit Our Jobs-How one Work-driven couple got on the road to a new life' Its about a New York couple who decide they are not wasting another day gazing out the window at the highway without being on it. They travel a 4 month trip through Canada,Alaska, and most of the United States. I'm only about halfway done so far.
You might like 'Gullible's Travels' by Cash Peters. Its a travelogue of some of his adventures being a BBC travel reporter. He's the guy who will be on the new reality series in the fall where they drop him off in a foreign place with no money, clothing, resources, etc.
Enjoy!!

Yes. We did book through carnival. Same area as the zipline. If you combine the two your kayak is only about 10-15 mins then they take you out of the river. The kayak trip by itself is alot longer. Pretty fun. Take cash for a locker. I think $5. You take nothing into the river with you. Also bought a small bottle of rum cream that is yummy.
