4 adults IMO would be too tight.
And what sailing are you looking at? A lot of time on the Bermuda runs the 3/4 fare is not much different that 1/2.
-
I agree with the other posters that say it is more about the number of people in a cabin versus child or adult.
We had a suite on the Star and the butler was always dropping treats off for the kids without us asking for them. Seemed like he was spoiling them.

I asked the same question on your roll call...any idea why your cruise speeded in so early this morning arriving around 0400?
Usually it's for some kind of medical emergency, but clarkro thought that the Captain just likes to go fast and arrive early (said that he announced yesterday that you would be arriving early).
Have you heard any other explanation?
Just a thought but the Gem is in NYC today also so maybe they wanted to allow extra time for the turnaround.

Can you buy udp online or with the TA. How about reservations for dining
Either way. You can ask your TA to do it for you or after you book set up your MyNCL account and you can buy the UDP and make reservations.
-
Yes even if you book with a TA you can do the things you listed on your MyNCL account.

That sailing may not have as many kids since school starts that week.
That said I was on the BA last August, full ship, and the lines for the slides were not too bad. Sometimes there was no line for the free fall slides.

I liked the Atrium Cafe's on the various ships better, before they introduced "Carlo's'" products....mainly because their pastries used to be complimentary. You only paid for the specialty coffee drinks they served, or you could help yourself to complimentary regular coffee at a nearby urn....:)
I agree. I do not mind paying for the coffee but having to pay for a snack with it is annoying.

Check the link there are hot spots all over the island.
Public internet access – secure, blazing fast speeds, reasonably priced. Connect to the WifiZone network from any wifi enabled device such as a smart phone, tablet, personal computer or digital audio player.
Over 40 hotspots island-wide including Dockyard, Hamilton, and St. Georges. Sign up once and have access from all hotspot locations.
How to Connect?
Enable WIFI on your device
Search for the WiFiZone by TBi network
Open a web browser to connect to sign-up page

Believe the only free place is the library in Hamilton. Some bars may give you a code if you buy a drink.
But they sell time for not much money at the Dockyard.

I agree with all the pro-Bermuda comments posted so far. People, beaches and not getting hassled.
Another big thing is being there overnight, or two, since we are on BA again this year. I like being on the other side of the island exploring and not having to worry about making it back for the ship.
to "Zacnlinc" I am headed back for my 6th time to Bermuda and I am not bored with the island nor have I seen everything yet. As I wrote being there for a couple of days allow you to slow down and enjoy.

Check Resort for a Day.

I have done both and cruie_crazed' assessment is pretty accurate.

Depending how well Quantum of the Seas does in Asia you could see one of these over there.
-
On your first day if you are doing the helmet dive why are you going all the way back to the ship to shower and then go back out to the beach? Do you not plan on swimming? Just curious.
Food on island can be expensive but lunch can be found for a reasonable amount.

Did a SJ on the Star and I would not do 4 adults and 2 children. We are a family of 5 and while there was space my children were small at the time.

Norwegian is different than when you sailed last. I say give it a try. And NCL is running a special where you can get all specialty restaurants included.

And of course they still make a ton of money!! Per drink profits are very high. The financial folks at NCL have come up with a program that is good for NCL. For years there were regular posts on here about begging NCL to come up with an all inclusive alcohol package. They have, it is what is best for NCL. There are also many on here that think it is great for them too. As has been said, you can't cherry pick the choice, if it's good for you, take it, if no, don't bother. For many it is a great package!! NCL did not create this package to make it great for you, they made it to make a profit for NCL and satisfy many customers at the same time. From the looks of things, it's very popular.
But I spend less on drinks when I have to pay per drink. I think about each purchase more. So they do not make as much money with me and I would bet many others since I have read people not buy the package since both do not drink.
All other mainstream lines sell the package individually and they seem to be making out fine.
I am not disputing the package just the way NCL does it.
It maybe good for NCL now but people will go elsewhere over issues like this.
-
I think they should offer it to single person in cabins also.
And to those that think NCL is making more money I doubt it. Here is why.
I drink and the package would be a break even or close enough for me. My DW drinks but nowhere near an amount to buy the package. So neither of us will buy it and I will spend less on drinks than if I bought the package. I would gather there are plenty of people like us.

NCL is world famous for their crappy television stations
I believe other cruise lines have direct or satellite tv
I like to watch TV before i go to ed and there is nothing on and if there is something on it is a loop of the same crap
Agree. I was on Regal Princess last year and in addition to TV they have on demand movies. Also a big plus for me, music channels. There were only 4 or 5 but it was nice to listen to music while getting ready or just relaxing.

I've gone out of NYC twice before (once on the Breakaway, once on the Star), but this summer we'll be driving and parking at the pier. Does the parking fill up? If I get there at 10:45, will there be space?
You should be fine. I have parked many times at the pier. Very convenient.
Just note that sometimes it can take awhile to get into the parking lot since after paying the security screens the cars so be prepared for that. Line moves; just slowly.

Thought Princess food was better than NCL. IMO.
Also Princess has cookies out all day at the buffet. Something I wish NCL would do. Also Princess has free food items at their specialty coffee bar while on the newer NCL ships you have to buy Carlo's.
Prefer Freestyle aspect of NCL.

Port side you get the NYC skyline when sailing away and you also get fireworks.

7 & 10 are close to needing their own room. You should be OK, it will be tight, but having two cabins/two bathrooms is nice.
Issue like this hinge on whether or not you ever hang in the room. My family likes to relax before dinner so extra space is nice. If you family justs showers and sleeps space is not a big deal.
Kids are going to love Breakaway, we are going for the second time this summer.

10 - 10:30 would be best for you. Early enough to get a seat and avoid the rush that builds by 11. There is a stand to buy a cup of coffee or other snacks while you wait.
Breakaway Balcony Pricing
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
Cruise lines have recently taken a stand that they will no longer discount cruises close to sailings. If you like your price I say book it and if by some chance it does drop after final you may be able to get some OBC.
