It is so sad that a good cruise can be spoilt by many children who have never known discipline and have no respect for others. Parents who take children on ships must some way be held responsible for there behaviour.

I have always found when travelling with my disabled husband that the airline book us seats together as I am his carer. Do hope you have a great holiday. Don't get worrying too much there are always people who will help if you have assistance.

Hi - how much walking is involved on this trip? The DH is no longer a spring chicken and can't stand around for ages.
How easy is DIY Rome? It looks OK but there seems to be a lot of hanging around for travelling. The Ho-Hos don't get great reviews. What to do? The thought of a 10 hr excursion is quite daunting even to me.
We're there on a Saturday if that makes any difference.
Any advice would be welcomed.
We also did this trip a few years ago and DH did struggle as in did involve a lot of walking. The trip was brilliant but you did need to be reasonably fit.

We did a trip a few years ago to Taormina and Etna which included lunch and had a great day. Don't know if Thomsons still do this trip.
-
We also did the express with Thomsons which was pricey but worth every penny. You did need to be reasonably fit as it did involve a lot of walking. We saw so much and was well organised.

Just fancy a mixture of home ports, as I feel this would provide more variety.

We love the Indian River Trip on Dominica. Have done this one three times. Also the Land and Sea on Tortola is great. Both booked with Thomsons. Have a wonderful time.

Oh dear. It does seem that standards are slipping.
-
Oh I do hope that is correct. Have a very soft spot for Spirit.
-
That's a shame. No quick hop to the "duty free" shops. Bet the taxi drivers will be rubbing there hands.

Do you have to check in three hours before? Feel you may manage another half hour in bed.

Yes Thomson do brilliant itineries and with newer ships that are not too big should do well with ex uk sailings. Many people now either do not want to or are unable to fly, and with an ageing population am sure these cruises will be popular just so long as the ambience and standards that have been unique to Thomsons continue.
-
Am sure there wil be plenty, just as long as the ambience is kept and standards are good. Thomsons have a very loyal following and now the ships are improving there should be nothing to stop them. Fingers crossed.

This all sounds great. Would have loved to have been in Palma tomorrow to have seen her. Will be there on Tuesday but she will have been well on her cruise by then. To all who are sailing next week have a wonderful cruise and report back. We are waiting.

Ha ha. Not sure which would be worse the drink or the pirates. It would be good though. Would probably need a lottery win first.

Well how about a world cruise ex uk during the winter. Am sure many of Thomson fans would love it

Yes I agree. Do feel it is another step in the right direction, but will be sorry to see Spirit go. Went on her when Thomson first took her over and have been on her several times since. Have read that this ship will be called Tui Discovery 2. I think it would have been nice to give her her own name. Perhaps someone may do just that.
-
I do hope all goes well with Discovery. It sounds like it is the breath of fresh air that Thomson could do with. Fingers crossed she will be a great success. Look forward to sailing on her.

There was a trip including the Captain's Cabin when we were on Celebration in March. I think it was between £40-£50.

Have cruised many times and with several cruise lines. True the current Thomson ships are not as glamourous as many others, but they more than make that up with great itineries, very good entertainment and a fantastic friendly crew. No ship is perfect but we always have a happy relaxing cruise when we are with Thomsons. Take no notice of people who laugh about Thomsons IMO they stand high in service and value. Have a wonderful cruise.

Thomson will have to address this issue urgently, but do notice it has been a problem with other lines more so this year. Parents or Guardians need to be made aware of there responsibilities before they board. Take it or leave it this lack of responsibility cannot be aloud to continue.
