My vote goes to Princess or RCI with an ever increasing presence on Celebrity :p

This commercial still makes me wanna go !!!!!! :p...............! I loved this song, loved these commercials - there were several versions of this ad including one that was shown in the cinemas. I have a Beta tape somewhere that has the full length version

We started cruising 30 years ago as a young couple with children and went every year. There were a lot of young singles who just went to party. I don't think there were any more older people than there are now.
definitely! and I was one of them - 2 cruises a year on the Oriana - inside 4 berth cabins on G deck - party central!

Why does it even matter and WHO CARES?

That is good news re the coffee. I have bought this package for my upcoming Mariner cruise. The Starbucks onboard is Starbucks by name only and not a REAL Starbucks like those on the larger ships
-
Don't worry - you have made an excellent choice for your first cruise! :)

There is a Coles & and a Woolworths at Wynyard station (1 station away from Circular Quay) plus convenience stores at the Quay and in the Rocks

Thanks! I'm going to get some of that to have on hand for my Asian cruise in March.

Dont touch the stair rails, try to avoid using public restrooms but if you must, dont touch the door handles with your bare hands (use a tissue, paper towel etc) and likewise lift buttons. If I'm going to eat at the buffet, I go as soon as it opens so that limits the amount of people handling the tongs .
I have never had noro

Nothing like a bit of pomposity on Christmas Eve. Its your opinion and mine is different. But thanks for the warning about the 'risks'. Unfortunately, I dont have 'high level friends' anywhere that can give advice on matters such as this.
I guess I'll just have to live dangerously and keep enjoying Century while she's still around...

I have never travelled solo on Celebrity before - I put a courtesy hold on a cabin a few hours ago and selected '1' passenger from the drop down menu - I have just gone back in to the reservation now to pay a deposit and it has me as Guest 1 and Guest 2 as TBA - and it won't let me get past that or remove Guest 2. Just to check I didn't make a mistake, I booked another cabin as a test, and it's the same thing. It's bad enough that solos pay double the fare but now it seems the website is trying to tell me something! Is there a way to get past this without having to call them? I never have this problem when booking solos cabins on RCI

Just booked Singapore to Dubai - great price!

Maybe the ship really is chartered. Asia is an expanding market for group travel. I have done RCI cruises in Asia, and there were several groups of approx 200 people travelling. Certain cruises of Mariner of the Seas were completely chartered. Century is a smaller size ship, so it is quite feasible that the ship has been chartered or large group bookings have taken remaining space

Replenish is $20 per day and I was able to book it online
-
Yes! Got the Replenish package - I wanted to book it asap so I can use my Christmas bonus to pay for it...before I spend it on something else!
-
I tried again. ..now I can purchase any of them EXCEPT the one I want - the Royal Replenish package. Another website wrinkle to be ironed out :)

New drink packages are showing in my pre cruise planner for Mariner in March BUT it wont let me purchase- it says to check back 2 months prior to sail date
-
Its in my pre cruise planner but wont let me buy it - it says to check back at 2 months prior? I sail in March- I could've bought the older packages at anytime up until now though.

Re the Vietnam visa - it is required for all passengers so the ship can be cleared. The ship will obtain this for you and it will be charged to your onboard account

Its a bit of a free-for-all on Mariner out of Singapore. Pool rules? "Doesn't apply to ME or MY family". The pool will be full of kids - with or without the necessary diapers. Kudos to you for respecting the rules and planning ahead - watch out or they'll all think your blow up pool is fair game too! :p
-
Legend was based out of Singapore for a time and finished up earlier this year - they probably just havent updated the website yet - no surprise about that!
I'm still hoping that its Mariner that comes here after her 2015 Asian cruises.

Yes, this is a huge problem and the crew will not do anything unless you complain. On Mariner in Asia this year, the adults only pool and hot tub were frequently targeted by parents with diapered kids who thought the quieter surroundings were suited to their darlings. It was up to the passengers to police this unfortunately. I'll never forget the kid streaming pee all the way down the steps into the pool.....
-
If she has been sold, she will probably sail all her published itineraries and end up somewhere in Asia for a refit for the new company.

Century was based out of Sydney from November 2011 to March 2012 (as my profile pic shows!)

Its not just the wee and the poop. I choose the adults only pools to avoid being splashed, bombed, hit with balls, squirted with water guns, no high pitched screaming, no running, no tantrums and so I dont have to listen to inane baby talk by adults.
I have 2 grown children - I have moved on from that and when I go on holidays, I dont need to relive it!
I also have no qualms in pointing out the pool rules or asking to speak to the Deck Officer in charge.
