  1. Its not just the wee and the poop. I choose the adults only pools to avoid being splashed, bombed, hit with balls, squirted with water guns, no high pitched screaming, no running, no tantrums and so I dont have to listen to inane baby talk by adults.

I have 2 grown children - I have moved on from that and when I go on holidays, I dont need to relive it!

I also have no qualms in pointing out the pool rules or asking to speak to the Deck Officer in charge.

  2. We started cruising 30 years ago as a young couple with children and went every year. There were a lot of young singles who just went to party. I don't think there were any more older people than there are now.

definitely! and I was one of them - 2 cruises a year on the Oriana - inside 4 berth cabins on G deck - party central!

  3. Nothing like a bit of pomposity on Christmas Eve. Its your opinion and mine is different. But thanks for the warning about the 'risks'. Unfortunately, I dont have 'high level friends' anywhere that can give advice on matters such as this.

I guess I'll just have to live dangerously and keep enjoying Century while she's still around...

  4. I have never travelled solo on Celebrity before - I put a courtesy hold on a cabin a few hours ago and selected '1' passenger from the drop down menu - I have just gone back in to the reservation now to pay a deposit and it has me as Guest 1 and Guest 2 as TBA - and it won't let me get past that or remove Guest 2. Just to check I didn't make a mistake, I booked another cabin as a test, and it's the same thing. It's bad enough that solos pay double the fare but now it seems the website is trying to tell me something! Is there a way to get past this without having to call them? I never have this problem when booking solos cabins on RCI

  5. Maybe the ship really is chartered. Asia is an expanding market for group travel. I have done RCI cruises in Asia, and there were several groups of approx 200 people travelling. Certain cruises of Mariner of the Seas were completely chartered. Century is a smaller size ship, so it is quite feasible that the ship has been chartered or large group bookings have taken remaining space

  6. Yes, this is a huge problem and the crew will not do anything unless you complain. On Mariner in Asia this year, the adults only pool and hot tub were frequently targeted by parents with diapered kids who thought the quieter surroundings were suited to their darlings. It was up to the passengers to police this unfortunately. I'll never forget the kid streaming pee all the way down the steps into the pool.....
