We have discussed this issue with one of the supervisors of eatery and there are microwaves they will use if passenger ask. But good I’m MDR also not very hot.

Yes, there are a couple of those I’ve seen, however they look more like the Starbucks toaster ovens than a microwave, so may blend into the other appliances sometimes.

I actually just got some meatballs that were heated in that microwave and they were warm but the center wasn’t quite warm enough. Easy to ask for a reheat though once you know where to go.

Thanks for taking the time out to post on CC.

if you remember, please can you found out where you can get fresh squeezed orange juice.

    Have a great cruise.

I will ask the staff! However I was talking to someone yesterday who said the orange juice was incredibly delicious, has the pulp etc. and also said he thought it was fresh squeezed because of how good it was.

but despite his glowing review I will still try to ask!

No, just paper, app or the screens round the ship. I never saw a QR code when I was on Sky last November.

@h20skibum the above response is correct. However, I have definitely noticed not everything is on the printed Patter; there are far more events listed in the app (seems to especially be meet ups, Bible study, knitters meet up, etc that are only shown digitally, not printed)

  4. We’re officially on board!

We had originally booked a cove balcony guarantee, and hadn’t gotten a cabin assignment until a couple days before we left. Surprise, we got an upgrade! By a couple of categories, up to a standard deluxe balcony. Or whatever it’s called. lol. IMG_6521.thumb.jpeg.49ba1dc581ecf3b5d6db8ebc9c0a511a.jpeg

  5. Hey everyone! Second time cruiser, first time “live” thread poster. Figured it would be great to document this especially on a newer ship.

On New Years Eve, one of my best friends and I were chatting about summer, cruising, and travel; and long story short, we decided to go on a cruise together! I had already been looking on ***** (great tool to use as a cruise search engine, btw) for a few itineraries that would coincide with Memorial Day (one less vacation day for me to use since it’s a paid holiday!) and saw the one for this week on the Sun.

Both of us had cruised Princess before, my friend more extensively because her family and especially grandparents are avid Princess cruisers. However, neither of us had ever been to Europe. So as a result, this itinerary checked all of the boxes for us.

I booked through a TA on New Years Day after getting a few emails from TAs through *****, and later we also booked flights through EZAir. Being an avid Google Flights searcher, I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable the airfare was through EZAir as opposed to DIYing it.

We left home on Thursday afternoon (May 23), had a layover in Rome, then made it to Athens Friday evening (May 24). The view from our Airbnb was incredible! IMG_6218.thumb.jpeg.04014723535830afc4f3244704afeaa3.jpeg

After not sleeping much due to jet lag, but still feeling quite rested nonetheless, we were up at 5am and went to the rooftop terrace of the Airbnb. You seriously can’t beat this view of Acropolis Hill and the Parthenon! Hadrian’s library in the foreground: IMG_6279.thumb.jpeg.0676e0a02d9f2434db7c3965b7184a8f.jpeg

We ended up leaving around 6:30am to get coffee and explore a bit before using our Acropolis tickets. here are some obligatory food photos along with the Parthenon!

Upgrades now without bidding are very rare.  Last minute room assignments are more common now too.  Hope you get a great cabin.

Thanks! Ended up getting an upgrade from cove balcony to deluxe balcony. Found out just a couple days before leaving home to fly out. Technically I guess it would be a 5-6 category upgrade within the same cabin type of being a balcony. Can’t remember the category letters/numbers offhand.

  7. This is encouraging! Booked first ever GTY for a cove balcony (we leave Saturday) and still no stateroom assignment...maybe we'll get upgraded! But honestly would be happy no matter what. I've gotten so many emails about bidding to upgrade but...not worth the $ to me haha so I'd rather wait to see what we're given (if anything). If it's free it's for me!

  8. Just got an email from my TA with the notification from Princess attached:

“Please be advised that due to technical restrictions affecting our water shuttle operations, Sun Princess will no longer call to Kotor, Montenegro on Monday, May 27. Instead, we will now call to the historic town of Bar, Montenegro from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on that day.”

  9. I'm also curious, does the time that first pax are allowed onboard change depending on departure time?

My departure from Athens in May is listed as 7pm. Wondering if people will still be going onboard at/before noon or if that's pushed back due to later departure.

  10. I think it's a no-brainer....~$1500 for 30 days? That's cheaper than most rent in my area! :classic_laugh: Plus maybe $600 or so for a one way flight down to Australia...not bad at all. Honestly! I'd say it's worth it. If you really miss seeing the ocean, the ship is big and there are plenty of spots to sit and relax, read, etc.

Do it! And we can all live vicariously through you :classic_biggrin:

EDIT: I didn't take into account whatever the single supplement might be...so that price actually isn't accurate. Unless you find a friend to go with you!
