  1. That would be a lot of disposable cups when trying to go “green”. There should be a better way to carry soda for the younger kids rather than glass. Especially in pool area, which surely would fall into disposable cups containers. I may bring my RCL cup from home and maybe NCL might someday copy. Easier to fill with ice for overnight cold water. I don’t want to inconvenience cabin steward who already has too much to do.
  2. Thank you. I guess we need to purchase our own, or bring one from home.
  3. The free at sea drink package, does that include a cup/tumbler or any kind of container to hold soda or water, much the same way as RCL includes with their package?
  4. Thank you. We did find out more after a search turned up some more discussions on this topic. We decided against this excursion.
  5. I only saw one post about this and was a review. Is it a new excursion? I’d like to know more about this. If it’s 7 hrs long, it might be too much for me. We will be in Cozumel January. Cold water? How deep is the river? I’m medium height and round at the waist. Very round. If I was a woman, they would think I was 9 months pregnant. How difficult is this excursion for people in their mid 60s? (I used to be younger and now suddenly….)
  6. I am familiar with RCL and Carnival, and even with their Your Time dining, we can still reserve for a specific time of our liking. Never had an issue with waiting long. I see now NCL is the same. I stay away from crowded sports bars or especially pool deck bars where there is smoking nearby. Like everyone says, there’s plenty of bars to go around and servers to take your drink order. Plus it’s nice to see what others order while I wait. Might diScover a new drink. It would be hard to get a party of 5 to sit together if the Main Event show reservations are not available. But the worst thing is the bathroom setup. I wonder if the designer still works there. It’s ok with me and my wife but the other family (not really a family but friends) is not thrilled with it. Especially if one is on the throne or shower and someone comes knocking at the door. Even tho it’s not see thru, still awkward.
  7. Thanks you all for this info. The video I was referring to stated the bar lines were 20 minutes long most of the time. You all refuted that claim. Somewhere I read the Main Show would be all be booked and reserved 130 days prior to departure, apparently untrue? As for buffet or MDR, I’m sure it’s no different from other cruise lines. Thank you
  8. I saw a YouTube video and want to know if the negativity is to be believed. First, because everyone has the “free-at-sea” beverage, are there real long lines at the bar? Usually there’s only 2 or 3 waiting for drinks. Are there servers going around taking drink orders? 2) we just booked and may already be late to reserve anything. How about the shows? Is it first come first seated? Or if all venues are booked, we cannot see any? 3) I know seating at buffets are hard to find but that’s normal. Eventually one will become available. But how about MDRs? Are there reservations and are there hours long waits? 4) without counting Specialty Dining, which MDR would we need to go to? Thank You for any info you can share.
  9. Edited: I will take those prices I see as the standard prices. Better this way as I won’t have to check each week for a cheaper price.
  10. Thank You Trenz, but I already have a booking with Princess in November ‘24 and a Norwegian in May ‘24 so I might have to wait until ‘25
  11. Thank you. So it doesn’t matter if you purchase water package now or later, it’s still the same. As for excursions, first come and first served.
  12. Does Norwegian have discounts on packages like other cruise lines? For maybe soda package or excursions, or activities or gifts to name a few?
  13. Those are good suggestions about docking at st George or Hamilton. Older ships are smaller and have an advantage for those ports while the larger ships are newer but are limited to Kings Wharf. We are heading to Bermuda on RCL Sept 4 but because of the weather, RCL rotated and are scheduled for the 6th to the 7th but instead of 36 hours docked at the Wharf, now we only get 20 hrs, 8 of which we will be sleeping away, giving us less than 12 hrs. Not much to really see all these great places. So anyway, will be looking into some of these cruise lines mentioned. Thank You for all your help.
  14. Which cruise line offers 3 or 4 or more nights stay in Bermuda? I don’t think 24 hrs or even 48 hrs is long enough?
  15. from Monday 8am to Tuesday 3 pm Which means we need to be back onboard by 2pm. I would stay close to Kings Wharf on Tuesday maybe just a quick hop to Hamilton.
  16. We plan to see the Crystal Caves, and maybe the ice cream shop nearby, Horseshoe Beach Hamilton for some souvenirs Aquarium and don’t know what else is interesting. We are not into historical or wildlife sightseeing. not into water activities except a dip in the water. Any suggestions?
  17. I think paying a little more for a taxi and have the convenience of a private ride and possibly a little faster as we wouldn’t have to wait until packed like sardines in sweltering heat would be a great deal. I hear most people wanting to go to Horseshoe Beach. Does that get real crowded? As for chairs and umbrellas, it’s touch and go. Might get lucky or just have to wait till they become available.
  18. We need a beach that has restrooms, food and drinks shack, not far from bus stop, and is free from corals or seashells. We may get a minibus as we are 5 adults, so I would ask how many do they try to squeeze into one?
  19. Any other cruise lines offer free ferry rides?
  20. Couple questions please. We are a group of five. If we take minibus to the crystal caves, will there be minibus available for the return trip or for the next destination? Are minibuses or taxis available at all tourist locations?
  21. Sorry for not getting back sooner. We did call and cruise agent verified that we must call them when ordering the drink package so they can modify it to accommodate us. If we cancel and repurchase at a lower rate, we have to call them again for the modification. Thank you again.
  22. Thank You. I was thinking same thing, to give them a call and explain. I was wondering if they required documents, but there is none.
  23. Our 2 families will be on Mariner of the Seas this September. One cabin will have 3 adults, one which is a 42 yr old special needs individual and cannot drink alcoholic beverages, while the parents would like the Deluxe package. Has anyone been in this situation and what was done to satisfy everyone in the cabin? Nello
  24. What I suspect happens, 3rd party TAs that do not sell their block of cabins by a certain time will have to return those blocks to the cruise line who will then try to sell via RoyalUp. The loss is expected to be made up thru casinos, shops, spas, packages and other money making venues. Meanwhile, cabin sales will continue the regular way for those that want to select the deck and location. Just a thought.
