  1. Does anyone know what Elite Pearl Means?  I am an Elite member and so is my hubby.  My  "Express Pass" status says Elite Pearl though.  I was just wondering if anyone knows what this is.

    Thanks

  2. Also, I know we can bring a couple of bottles of wine onboard but do you know if they allow bottled water?   I know some cruise lines have said no more bottled water because of the "booze smugglers, lol"

A basic drink is $8  to 10 plus a 20% gratuity.  Also you can bring 2 bottles of wine and a 12pk of canned soda pop on board at the start of your cruise.  Look at the drink package cost and make your decision.  Remember to include other things bundled into the package when looking at the cost and make your decision.

    Wow!  Thanks!  Good info!

I found this to be helpful... the basic drink package covers drinks up to $10 and the premium package up to $17:

So, with your example, a vodka tonic, if you are okay with Absolut, Whealtly, New Amsterdam, or Smirnoff, then the basic package is fine. If not, you might consider upgrading. If you have the basic drink package and the drink costs more than $10, you pay the difference plus gratuity.

Thanks yes I saw this.  I guess my question is Are there really drinks that are under $10 because if so we will pay less by just paying as we go.  I was recently on RCCL Radiance of the Seas and I didn't see anything under $10.

  5. Hi all,

We are cruising on the Reflection in April.  I am trying to decide if it is worth it for us to purchase the drink packages.  Hubby drinks more than I do but I am not sure if even he will drink enough to pay for the cost or if we should just pay as we go.  Does anyone know the cost of a basic alcohol drink ie:  vodka tonic?  Also, I enjoy coke zero on occasion and a specialty coffee now and then.  Thanks in advance.

  6. I try to have them added when I book.  Its just easier for me to have it all paid for before we sail. I remember when I booked my most recent one onboard I had to ask the agent to add it in for me.  I did call once in the past and ask and since it wasn't prepaid I went ahead and paid it.  This is just the way I like to do it.  But, like others have said you don't get any discount or anything by paying it ahead so you might want to just plan on it being added once you are onboard.

  7. We are booked for the 1st week in August.  Sometimes the website says that one of our ports in Skagway and sometimes it says Haines.  The excursions currently offer for Skagway but the port itinerary doesn't say we are stopping there.  I guess they don't know for sure yet.

  8. I recently saw a Youtube video talking about a Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls Shore Excursion.  They took the Glacier Express bus which was offered once they disembarked in Juneau.  At that time he said it was amazing and it was $45.  We are also thinking of what we want to do in port for our next cruise to Alaska which is this August!  We were in Alaska in 2016 and saw some amazing things but are looking forward to visiting again and seeing some more cool stuff!

I transferred my $1000 to another cruise to avoid losing the bonus.
Never dreamt I would keep it.
You got lucky or maybe I’m overly cautious.

I tried to do this recently and was told it would cost me $200 to book a different cruise because I didn't pay for the refundable deposit.  I said well I don't want to refund I just want to move it to another cruise and the agent said that's the policy.  Ugh.

When do you set sail? We are on the Silhouette as of 2/27! If that is your cruise, join our roll call!

We are going from the 23rd-27th.  Maybe we will see you in the parking lot, lol.  Enjoy your cruise!

  11. I am so excited to say that I will be sailing in about 2 month on the Sillouette.  We are loyal Royal Caribbean Cruisers for many years and are very excited to see what Celebrity has to offer!  🤪  Any tips or tricks of the trade are welcome.  Other than that I just wanted to say how excited I am!

I don't put enough credence in this to call them. If the voyage had been cancelled, there would likely be info on their itinerary updates page, we would have received an email message, and the person blogging from this week's voyage might have mentioned any issues they had encountered.

It is far easier to believe that Royal's IT people strike again.

I always call Crown and Anchor.  Even with what I think might be dumb questions.  I recently have not received any emails from Royal Caribbean except the ads.  No invoices no notifications about upcoming cruises.  I called and they told me they don't know why but " resend" and it always comes through.

  13. As soon as we board we head straight to the dining room and set up how we would like to be seated.  Also, if your bed isn't as it should be, just ask your room steward and they will fix it by dinner time.  We have also called Crown and Anchor and set these things up ahead of time and they were very helpful.

Whatever ship I go on next, which is Allure, but I have sailed on her before.  5 Reasons why

    1. I'm on vacation

    2. I'm not at work

    3. A drink in my hand

    4. Plenty of food to pick from

    5. Another drink in my hand

I like this answer!  We have been on so many and we just love them all.
